What a journey! I really wish to try the road trip to Ghana as well. I was in Accra last year January. I went by flight though. I was on an assignment for my company. I stayed for a week an Ibis Style Hotel close to the airport. Because it was a company trip, I couldn't explore the city like you. I was picked from the hotel in the morning and dropped in the evenings. By that time, I was tired and can't even think of going out. In the office, during lunch hour, I had opportunities to try different Ghanian foods. I can't even any of the name now. Lol. I agree with you, Accra is less chaotic than Lagos. People are friendly and accommodating. Another striking thing is power supply throughout Ghana is better compared to Nigeria. My fight to and fro was in the evening. Up there in the sky, Ghana was brightly lit at night. Nigeria sky at night is quite the opposite. You will see clusters of light here and there. There are more darkness clusters, however, indicating no power supply at many locations. I will disagree with you on the bribing aspect though. You see, before I left for the trip, I had made arrangement for my yellow card. Unknown to me, it was fake. At the airport in Accra, you could see the faces of the immigration officials lit when they discovered it. And oh they were good at discovering fakes. We then began negotiations on what I will give to them to allow me . The lady asked for $20. I could have parted with the money, but I had $100 bills on me. I called a colleague at our Accra branch an he told me to negotiate in cedis. But then, I had not changed some dollars to cedis. Eventually, we settled at meeting the next day outside of the airport to get the money. I can't the amout now but it was less than the $20 initially demanded. Also the Official assisted in getting the original done while I was there and brought it to me in the office by the 3rd day. In all, it was a nice experience and I am considering going there for a 2 week vacation later this year. I don't know if I will be able to endure the 17hrs road journey though ![]() One more thing- In the office over there, we also debated about Ghana Jollof rice and Nigeria Jollof rice. I doubt if the row will ever end ![]() ![]() 4 Likes |

Good thing is the dude can be caught if you make the right moves. First step is reporting the no to Opay, they will block the and investigate. Dont even say its small money. I am sorry I called you mumu. Extremely sorry. I just felt the red flags was much and should not get any one scammed at all. I have been on this forum for more than 10yrs, never have I been accused of scamming anyone. Check my profile |

in these days and times, you need to be vigilant and discerning. 1. My ad says for sale in PHC, you never question or ask the impostor why Asaba or Abuja. 2. My no is always on my signature and even on the ad itself, how can I come to your whatsapp with a different no, yet you didnt question the different number 3. The thief said you will make part payment, phone will be sent to you, later there was no talk of part payment anymore but waybil money. So you think seller will send phone to you without payment? So when you receive it, then you will now pay? Haba! You be Jesus Christ ni? haaa... so many red flags, yet you dashed the idiot your 8500. I don't have any pity on you at all bro. 1 Like |
