While I don't subscribe to the competition by churches in building the biggest auditoriums to make boast and glorify themselves, the repeated idea of poor people building these edifices sound dumb. How much do these poor people put in as offering? Is it the N50 - N50 to N100 offerings that they make that will be able to build these big buildings? How many years will it take for the small change that these people offer to accumulate to buy a bag of cement? The people that actually make these things happen are not poor people. When these churches have projects like this, they'll call out people who can donate amounts ranging from like 50k to millions and people will come out based on the level they plan to donate and many of them will do. None of those poor people will step out, or where will they find even 10k to donate?

Leaders of such churches are doing these things for their ego, but there's no point claiming its poor people who donate to build it. Their contribution is so negligible. And there's no reward for all these showmanship done by these churches and their .
