mastermaestro: Sc interpretation (judgement) is a validation of an existing law. It is not a new law ! So many ignoramuses on this thread. |

Queensfield: You are the one sounding like an illeterate. If legislatures a new law and it clashes with the position of the constitution. If someone takes up the case and approaches the Supreme Court, it has the power to override the new law because it clashes with the existing laws in the constitution. The constitution is supreme. Overriding a law does not mean the Supreme Court is allowed to make new laws. It means the sc court defends the existing position of the law in our constitution. Why are you struggling with the basics? |

Assetosky: That’s not a new law. While adjudicating on the matter, both litigant and defendant cited some section of the constitutions and bye law to their arguments. They interpreted these laws to favour their cases. Then the Supreme Court sides with either the litigant or defendant and acccept the interpretation of the law of either the litigant or defendant. The Supreme Court affirmed that the side that won the case correctly cited relevant existing laws and interpreted them correctly and judgement was ed. It was not that the Supreme Court made a new law. NO 1 Like |

mastermaestro: Stop ranting. I asked you a simple question. Cite any case where any court in the world , not only Nigeria, makes a law. You refused to send any reference here simply because it is non existence. There are separation of powers. Legislatures make law while the court interpretes the law. No one can usurp the role of the other. Learn! |

johntolu: You are wrong with the bolded. It was not a new law. It has been always been in our constitution. Humans tend to interprete laws in a ways to suit themselves. That’s why we have courts to interprete the laws in a way the drafter of the constitution meant. I still repeat, no court in the world can make any law. They can only interprete existing laws. Making law is the sole prerogative of the legislatures. |

DeLaRue: I just asked you a simple question. Provide a reference to your position that SC is exempted to make laws. |

Elliotwaveforec: Stop arguing. There is no exception for the Supreme Court to make law. That is like asking Supreme Court to usurp the position of the house of assemblies. And if you still want to argue, show us just one reference which s SC making laws. This is a basic social study. You need to go back to the basis. Any court , including SC only interpretes laws. 1 Like |

Elliotwaveforec: No court makes law. The function of the court is to interprete laws. Both the state and federal House of assemblies make laws. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I have said it many times, the Governors are the really evil of this country. So selfish and reckless. See them attacking the Supreme Court, which is the apex court meant to interprete the law. Most of the lawyers that are involved in this illegality ought to be derobed and their legal licenses withdrawn. Supreme Court really needs to dig in and put its feet firmly on the ground. 12 Likes |

I thought they said obi was exposed. So, in the western world, the Government would look the other way after 35 children were dead, and some are still dying in the hospital. This guy can never be president because he always attempts to sound politically correct. I don’t expect more anyway from someone who claims to take advice from a man. He is such a wicked soul for turning tragedy of this proportion to politics. He should have kept quiet when he has nothing reasonable to say. Must he talk on everything? I pray he contests in the next election again, this time, his loss will be legendary. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I have been asking myself this question for ages,. It now dawned on me that those who sought to kill Jesus Christ could not even identify Jesus Christ out of the 13 of them. They had to bribe Judas to identify Jesus Christ in their midst. Why? Not because they looked alike but they could not just identify him because no one was bigger than the others. Despite being God the Son, Jesus Christ considered them equal. Jesus Christ even washed the feet of the disciples! What happens today is horrendous. Step into the church, you will identify the pastor and his wife by the size of the posh seat they sit on, while the rest of the congregation sits on plastic chairs I would never understand why they distinguish themselves among the congregants. Jesus would rather sit on that plastic chairs and allow the congregants to sit on the posh chairs. That's how humble our Saviour is. Are you humble like Jesus Christ? This is the one million dollars question I'm open to be corrected in case I got if twisted. |

He should know success is not a function of age. He should stop self pity, dust himself up and learn sellable skill to build capacity. He should look around him and provide solution to what people are struggling with in his neighbourhood. People only pay problem solvers. If he has a degree, he shouldn’t allow that degree to be a blocker by stopping him from doing certain jobs. Most degrees earned these days can’t even solve current human problems. Such a waste. Age can never stop you, you can only stop yourself. 57 Likes 7 Shares |

See here lies the trend in Nigeria. You finish your Bsc, next year you go for your masters, how can you make the best of your masters?. Instead for them to work in the industry for a few years, then determine specific pathway where he wants to gain more knowledge, then go for masters in that area. That way, he can relate the practical work to what he is being taught at the masters level What do you then relate when you have zero work experience? 6 Likes |
