To an extent it's not possible. This forum thrives off ' participation. The more threads these yahoo boys open the more the can brag about people engaging in the site. The more people who get scammed open threads with tales of woe the more the can brag about daily visitors. Daily visitors to this site coupled with their intellectual contributions whether inane or useful = $$$ to one anonymous man in Ogun state's , paid loyal s and more money to promote the forum.

yeah, well I believe the Nigerian internet is evolving and in a couple of years Nairaland would have to evolve from this old style or it could get overrun. that said, letting yahoo boys and scammers alike roam these streets freely isn't how to run a business and if that's how the owner and s actually think, then they are part of Nigerias problems. as much as possible and in every conceivable area, we ought to, as Nigerians, push for the change we want to see on the larger scale if not then we are actually okay with mediocrity (which I sometimes think we are) and not ready to make Nigeria better. As the title goes. I see the amount of scammers is on the rise with a lot of s pretending to be owners of pets and ripping unsuspecting people off with their "cheap prices" and fake photos. I believe a step forward would be for to ban (I hope that's possible on nairaland) found scammers (with evidence) off the site. Evidence could include proof that they don't own the pictures ed, chat receipts from persons that have been ripped off or even reoccurring scam numbers/names that people spot.

That's a very silly way of reasoning and it makes no logical sense. You've said you would give one out to a lucky nairalander and if you still want to then do it.
That said, where do I apply for the free puppy. I'd care for them like I'm the dam.

You can manually press out the maggots and apply an antiseptic solution like savlon to the lesions if not too many...alternatively, oral or injectable ivermectin from any major pharmacy can kill the maggots, but then you have to watch out for foreign body reaction as the dead maggots will still be in the dog...

I called in the vet today and he istered shots that would kill the maggots but he said they'd exit the holes without external intervention. He gave me a cream to facilitate with the healing which I'd apply once the holes have been vacated. Please what do foreign body reactions look like and do I have to pull out the maggots myself?

Myiasis is the medical term for an infestation of fly larvae, either maggots or grubs, on the skin of a living animal, in this case, a dog.
I have taken the dogs from moist environment and already taking precautions to ensure their environment is clean and free from flies but the dog still has infestation on her skin.
