No. Biometrics once every 10 years.
Juxen:

Congratulations to you. Please did your mom do another biometric for the submission of this second application?
mimimum: 9:14pm On Jan 23, 2019
Quite a number of things. I wrote a detailed letter of clarification to address the refusal. I did another detailed letter of invitation which stated that I will be fully responsible for her expenses. Then a purpose of travel letter from my mum that emphasized her family and job ties. I submitted updated bank statements and a flight ticket this time. I even added my siblings birth certificates to show ties and all that. Basically, I was more detailed this time. I omitted a lot of things in the previous application, so I guess being detailed and favoured by God came to play the second time. We have already landed, so she'll come in when the baby is due.
jhoci:
Congratulations on your mum's visa approval. Please what did you do differently from the previous application? I'm also in the process of applying for my parents, though the invitation is coming from my brother in Canada.

I used the 5k budget as you advised. I did full sponsorship myself this time.
OmoBendel24:

Wow! Congrats to her, and to you too of course. Glad your persistence and resilience paid off, worth it.... What budget did you now finally use and was it individual or combined sponsorship this time? Congrats once more.

To God be the glory. My mum's TRV application was approved on Friday. I took the risk and reapplied online immediately and submitted more detailed documentation (letter of clarification for the refusal, purpose of travel, letter of invitation, updated bank statements, budget breakdown) this time. I resubmitted some old docs I used before. With God, it turned out well and in less than a month 21st Dec to 18th January (despite the holidays in between), we received port request. Thanks for the advises. Please don't give up after a refusal. Try and be detailed as possible the first time and hope for the best.

Good morning my people. I am so deflated writing this. I need advice from the house please.

My mum's TRV application was refused yesterday. Let me give background info to enable you understand if there is anything I did wrong. The intention was for her to accompany us as we travel to land as new PRs.

I applied on the 25th of October with the following documents:

1. My bank statement showing balance of 4.5m
2. Mum's Tbill cert maturing this December with value of 1.1m plus another saving with 600k balance.
3. Introduction letter from her school principal (she is a teacher with Anambra State Government)
4. Employment letter, posting letter, confirmation of appointment letter, promotion letter, payslip, 3 months salary statement, e-tax card
5. Letter of invitation from me. In the letter, I stated that I am ing her trip with the sum of 1.2m from the 4.5m balance in my acct. I also stated that she has been employed for 28 years, lives with my dad and siblings and will stay with us for 3 weeks before returning home
6. Her purpose of travel letter that stated that her job role, employer, number of children, activities in Nigeria, total fund available for the trip (total of C$10,340 - combination of the funds listed in 2 and 5 above)
7. Consent letter from my dad
8. My birth docs proving relationship,
9. My immigrant visa, COPR, and international port
10. Photo
11. Application form, Family info form, marriage cert, educational certificates.
12. I didn't include flight reservation

So to the main reason given on the letter was:
1. insufficient funds, income/assets.
2. Officer was not satisfied that she will come back to Nigeria after her visit because of her travel history (she has never traveled out of Nigeria)

I am so confused, I don't know how to proceed from here. We really needed her to accompany us because I am 4 months pregnant and she wanted to help us with the stress of settling in cos of my active toddler, then come back much later next year when the baby arrives.
I don't know if I should apply again afresh bearing in mind the short time we have to land in Canada (barely 1 month and 1 week) or raise a CSE with my new balance of 6.2m plus her acct statement to appeal the decision (is this even doable). How do they expect her to leave her job, whole family behind, husband and 4 other children that live with her and abscond to Canada. Aren't those ties enough?
Or is it that $10,340 is not enough for flight ticket and stay of 3 weeks?
Gathering these docs again to reapply plus the stress is doing my head in. What are the chances that it won't get rejected again. Should we just go and land and then reapply when we settle so that she can come in summer next year for omugwo. My problem with this is that I won't be working immediately until my baby grows and I may not have salary or bank acct statement to show and also I would have converted all my funds here in Nigeria before we leave for Canada, so no Naija statement to show.

Help me please. Any one. I am so confused.
Thanks.

Thanks a lot. I think i'll take the risk and apply again with a reduced budget of $5k as you advised.
One more question please, that portion of the application form that asks funds available for the trip, is the total money in my that I presenting plus her own funds (in CAD) or is it the 5k budgeted sum?
OmoBendel24:

Everything looks good, and I think she stands a chance about now still, with a reduced budget for the trip.

Best option however remains going back to the drawing board, land first and settle in, then invite her for summer. Don’t forget to ensure her is decent and improved upon, and keep budget simple.

The thing is, the POF I presented in different accts during my application was already more than sufficient for a family of 3. It could cover a family of 5 sef. Moreover, the balance in the acct has increased from when I presented it for my PR application. The balance is over 6m now. Is that sufficient now? I want to fully sponsor her now. I was only ing before.
emeify:
The impression is that u want to sponsor her from your POF which will affect ur POF. Why not include your husbands SOA too. 4.5m seems small for a family to sponsor another person on my opinion.

Did WES ask you to submit port for evaluation? You are the first person I am seeing this from. WES does not require any means of identification, only WAEC if your degree is Nigerian. Btw, why do you want to use WES?
Thetherapist:
Good day house. Please can degree evaluation be done with WES with another means of identification say National ID card or drivers license aside international port.
International port needs correction with DOB which is going to cost a lot and would want to sort ECA out while the port issue get sorted.
If No, is there any other evaluating body that accepts other means of identification aside port.
Kindly help touch light this matter. Thanks

Beautiful story. We await your return. Do fast and come and give oga small heat abeg.

At the bolded: I need to buy the weighing scale too. Which of the ones in the attached Jumia pics below is the one you bought? I need to be sure I am buying a good one.

My stale landing gist. Plz pardon any typos cos I typed this out on my phone.

The journey was long and uneventful. We had no excess luggage issues seeing as only one person was staying behind. Got to the airport at about 11am for a 1.40pm flight and went Straight to check-in our luggage. I had bought a small pocket size travel scale off Jumia the week before for about 3.5k and the scale was surprisingly accurate. Completed check-in formalities and soon after we started boarding.

Anyway, now I can't wait to go back home.

Well, no where in the application was it stated that I am pregnant. It was never the intention. She has a full time job. She can't afford to be away for that long.
tessytessy:
The Visa Officer could read through your application that your mum was going to stay till you give birth.

Travel, give birth and apply that she is coming for omugwo and she will get the visa.

Thanks again. I see the angle you are coming from. I didn't do a breakdown of the expenses she would incur, such as flight ticket and PTA. N2.9m came to a little over C$10k. It might appear that the whole funds in her would be wiped as I didn't apportion cost to each aspect of the trip. The money I stated I was ing her with is just a fraction of the funds in my . It doesn't put a strain on my landing process at all. The she presented is not one she uses regularly. The bulk funds there have been in the since early 2017. She only tops it up monthly from her salary. No bulk transfer at all. The balance in my has grown significantly since I applied. Do you think we stand a chance if I reduce the amount. Sorry for all the bother. I just want to get it right this time.
OmoBendel24:

NGN2.9m translates to how much CAD? What then is left of her resources, and what strain at the time would the NGN1.2m from you put in your landing process too? How can all her resources and part of yours be put into just a 3-week visit? Her ticket will not be more than $1500-2000. Living expenses, transport (maybe) and accommodation are on you so to speak. $2000-2500 should be enough for her PTA if not almost too much. Her budget shouldn't exceed $4000 in my opinion.... You can either let her sponsor herself with this budget, or you her with 500k tops, let her have some good balance in her after deduction of her budgeted figure for the trip.

Meanwhile, you can go ahead and reapply immediately or be patient, go for her case's GCMS notes, land first and invite her for summer at least 2-3 months before your EDD. If you choose the second option, encourage and her to build her some more so as to enable her conveniently sponsor herself with a lesser budget and extra left in her still. My 2Cents

Will ask this very important question too; aside the balance she had in her two s, what was her transaction inflow and outflow like? Was there a lump sum deposit in her at some point, especially close to the visa application time?

Thanks for the response.
I didn't hide anything at all. The only thing I didn't include in my letter is that I am pregnant. I didn't see the need to add that cos that wasn't exactly the purpose I was inviting her. When you say I should reduce the amount, won't that go against the reason for the refusal, seeing that they said there was insufficient funds/income/assets? I don't understand how 2.9m is insufficient for a 3 week visit. Do you think reapplying will make any sense? We were inviting her to accompany us and we are leaving 3rd week of January, if I reapply, the approval may not come out before then, won't that be another reason to refuse the application? And what other ties can she show? She has never applied for a visa before, so no rejection before this one.
OmoBendel24:

Surprised! Everything here normally seems good oh. The budget however in my opinion seems rather too much for a 3-week visit, cut that down and reapply. Has she had a previous refusal from them or the US? Was information concealed somehow someway in the application? Regards

Good day everyone, I am trying to apply for TRV for my mum. Can someone please help with answers to the following questions?

1. In filling out the forms, I noticed 2 Family information forms. Which one should I fill? The IMM5707 or IMM5645? One requests for info about applicant's siblings while the other does not.

2. Is $9,500 to $9,600 ok to show as funds for the trip?

3. Must we submit a flight reservation with the application? I was of the opinion that until we get the visa, we are not to make concrete arrangements?

I will be landing in Canada as a PR soon and I want her to accompany us.

Thank you.

Bolded is not true. Stop worrying. A good number of PAs here with their COPRs did not provide work reference for their spouses. Me inclusive. Just put his work experience under personal history and you won't need to provide reference letter. It is quite rare for people to be asked for their spouse's work reference. It has happened before, but uncommon. In those cases, it might be that a huge chunk of their POF came from the spouse who is not the PA. My guess though. Stop worrying like I said.
speak2inspire:

Thank you for your prompt response. I really appreciate it.

Please I was told that proof will still be asked for all work experiences stated under personal history. That's why we are still apprehensive. Pls has anyone gotten PPR who put work experience for spouse under personal history? Was proof of the work requested?

Thanks a lot for this. Do you have an idea how long it takes to issue this letter from when one makes a request?
TheCongo2:

Yesterday I took a Nigerian couple to a DriveTest Center to get their Ontario driver's licenses.
The couple had landed in Canada last week and was introduced to me by a Nairaland friend who had also landed last week with his family.

My Nairaland friend has lived in before and has a French driver's license. Therefore, he was given a full G Ontario license without undergoing any testing. As a result of his G license, he is only paying $165 monthly on his car insurance which is very cheap comparing to what a lot of newcomers are playing.

As for the couple that I took to the DriveTest Center, they had to apply for their G1 Ontario license before moving to G2 or Full G license.
This is where the FRSC letter comes into play. (I will come back with more details about our trip to the DriveTest Center)

To answer your question, according to the Nigerian couple, only the FRSC office in Abuja can issue the FRSC letter. However, you need NOT to travel to Abuja to get the FRSC letter. You can apply for it from anywhere in Nigeria.

To get the FRSC letter, You can follow the following steps that the couple had learned from a Nigerian-Canadian Whatsapp group:

1st step - Send an email with your driver's license details to the FRSC Abuja Office requesting a FRSC letter or driving record.
You are more likely NOT to receive a reply from the FRSC Abuja office.

2nd step- Follow up your email by ing this Abuja FRSC Employee (Sule - phone number 2348033795031)
Sule will access the FRSC Database and will write for you the FRSC letter.
I was also told that the Service provided by Sule is free of charge . The only money you will send to him is for the shipment of the FRSC letter to you.

Bonne chance
