Hi. New here but have read threads for years til now and I just have a simple question to ask . Ok, I know how dim I sound but I married my Nigerian husband 8 years ago. At the foot of the poster it says 'by [his name but different surname] on behalf of the family. Now, this new surname is the same as his fathers so I believe it to be his true name. Asked him about it and he says that his surname is different to the rest of his family because he chose to take his paternal grandfathers name. I assume his father should also bear the grandfathers name? He just keeps telling me that I don't understand Nigerian customs/traditions but now the word 'scammed' keeps popping into my head. A simple yes or no would be enough - is it usual for a man to NOT take his fathers name? Thanks in advance.

It's nothing really. I have different surname from my entire family. The part where I think you should ask serious question is the secret part. He should come all out and lay everything bear to you on the table. Couples should not be keeping secrets

While i would not doubt the acumen of Atedo Peterside and his team, i can refer to several other issues which people have had. If you must know, i have been using stanbic since 2005. There was a time i requested for my RSA statement, i didnt receive it after about 8 days !! My pension remittance is not credited until atleast about 8 days after the pension remittance has been made. This has become a regular occurence.

What i am saying is, your testimony about a certain PFA is dependent on you experience with the PFA.

I work in a PFA and i have client who would not allow their new employees to with other PFAs other than my PFA where i work.

That said, Stanbic Pension got a good game up her sleeve!

Hello Pally.

I am glad to let you know that The National Pension Commission is working on a model called Pension Micro scheme which would enable self funding and considers other petty traders, artisans e.t.c.

Pending when that is done, your company however small and any PFA of your choice so as to enable you starting your pension plan.

Based on the provision of the pension act, all PFAs are tighly regulated by PENCOM which means operations and activities are very ethical to a very large extent. What this means is that, almost all the PFAs are good to go. The only difference would be the rate of returns or investment return on the same amount. For example, if at opening PFA A and PFA B started at N1. After 6 months, PFA B is at N1.25 while PFA A is at N1.32. what it means is that PFA A has better return on investment.

Please note, return on investment is determined by so many factors ranging from Asset Under Management, Investment Expertise of the PFA e.t.c.

My cat actually went bad with the car's engine rattling at rev 4,500 "that knocking sound" So I decided to replace it. Yes the car gained on "jet off" acceleration but fuel consumption is still high @ 16mpg. Got a p135 directly pointing to bad o2 sensor heater 2 days after replacement. So I changed sensor heater only to get another p0420 "inefficient catalytic"'. A further scan on this showes a bad o2 sensor down stream. Will the defouler work for a bad o2 sensor? or should I just as well change it?
