Scanned and printed is fine. Your signature on your Ausbildung contract should be original of course but the school's/employer's can be scanned.

Oo ok i would suggest you work around a week or two weeks after your travel date submitted I.e if your intended travel date is 30th October you can book your flight for either the 2nd week of November or 3rd so you don’t miss your flight. Hopefully you get your visa(port returned back) before your intended day submitted (30th October)

I would advise that you don’t book a flight until after you have been requested to submit your travel date and Travel health insurance because you don’t know how long you would have to wait after your interview with the embassy and in case you have to be verified you are not sure of when your lawyer would come.
Please be patient until you get to the final stage of submitting travel date so you don’t loose money because you didn’t get your visa before flight date
P.s you are also advised to leave a 14 days period before your travel date too

Oh, my travel dates and health insurance have already requested and I submitted the documents about a week ago. My one worry is receiving my documents and port late or there being an error in my port, I don't know how common that is.

Good afternoon everyone, please who exactly approves the visa? is it ABH or the embassy? Also if you want to check if your application has been sent to the Alien Authority in you can send a mail to ([email protected]) with your full name and port number and date of birth. It worked for me

Both authorities have to give approval. Usually the embassy here approves and forwards your application to the Foreigners' Authority (Ausländerbehörde) and only after the approval of the ABH can the visa be issued. In the case of a pre-approval the foreigners' authority approves the application first but the embassy in Nigeria still has to give its approval before the visa is issued. The thing is it's typically rare for the rejection to stem from the Nigerian embassy as long as your application was complete and you didn't raise any suspicions of fraud.

Got appointment date - June 30th 2023
Appointment - 27th July 2023
ABH Letter requesting for documents from my husband - 26th September 2023
Submitted Documents to ABH -2nd October 2023
Email to submit port & travel insurance - 5th October 2023
Submitted ports - 6th October 2023 went myself 😊
Got ports with visa and docs - 16th October 2023
Intend to travel 1st week of November 2023

Caveats
1. My husband is a researcher so there was no need for verification and A1 certificate even though I went with verification fee and certificate.
3. All documents checked out from the appointment, so that aided smooth transition.

It depends on whether or not your company/school apply for the skilled workers procedure/pre approval letter for you.

If you don't have a pre approval letter then you apply to this category:

Registration to apply for a long term visa / more than 90 days (work permit, Blue Card, AuPair, FSJ, BFD, other / NO FAMILY REUNION / NO STUDENTS)

You'd get an appointment date in 16-18months

If you do have a pre-approval letter then you apply to this category:

Registration ONLY for visa under the Skilled Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz) WITH approval in advance according to § 81a residence act from your responsible ALIEN AUTHORITY in

You'd get an appointment date within 3 weeks (usually a matter of days)


So you should try finding a place that is willing to get you the pre approval. Make sure you have your B2 before you apply.

Thank you. Also when you apply for a skilled workers visa there's a part where you tick "I have obtained a pre approval" and specify the issuing authority and date. I guess the embassy confirms with with respective foreigner's authority after that.

Yes but he's not sworn. Luckily it still suffices for what I wanted to use it for because I just needed a translating company at least.

A date legally has to come within 3 weeks. If it hasn't, call the embassy.

No. A waec result alone is not enough as it's not equivalent to the German Abitur (13 years of school education). So to make up for the difference you could either:

1) do a 1 year program called Studienkolleg which is entirely in German (you'd need a bare Minimum of B2 level to start this)

2) or you could spend 1 year in a Nigerian university and use your 100l transcript to apply.

Not necessarily. However if you have an Ausbildung contract and a Vorabzustimmung zum Visum (gotten by your employer) you can get an appointment within 3 weeks from booking and after the appointment you'll get a decision within 3 weeks. So to put it short with only a contract you are treated like every other applicant but with the Vorabzustimmung zum Visum the process is accelerated.

first time I booked on the 21dec ,and I got date immediately because unlike like naija,you can choose your date ,cancelled because I couldn't get Sl,called the embassy on Feb 17th as soon as my sl arrived to reschedule and I was given 22nd of Feb to come for interview.
