malali:Sir, don't tell me you believe the brain drain lies peddled by this government. Do you know that to get a medical Job in federal teaching hospital today, you need to know someone that knows someone?? Has our government ever released an advert in our hospitals and no one applied before? A lot of we health workers are underemployed in these country. Do you know that OAUTHC retrenched a lot of healthcare workers last year on the ground of Job racketeering? The government said they can't afford to pay all the employed workers and has to let some of them go. A permanent staff in the bank earns 300k and above while a medical officer receives slightly above 200k. We don't have a sincere government, and there is nothing like brain drain in Nigeria. It's just an excuse to cover up for their inadequacies. 6 Likes |

Can Nigeria ever achieve greatness? Over the last 10 years, we've been plagued by an annual Tomato Ebola outbreak in May and June, yet the government has failed to implement lasting solutions. I'm convinced that, come this time next year, the same minister will come out here and reiterate this same thing. We can't keep voting the same set of people and expect another result. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

I understand you're considering applying for the H1B visa and are weighing your options between finance and tech. It's a significant decision, and I empathize with the uncertainty you may be feeling. From my experience, the H1B visa process can be challenging, with no guarantees of selection due to the limited number of visas available each year and intense competition. While both finance and tech sectors offer opportunities, it's essential to consider the current demand and trends in each field, as well as your own skills and preferences. Additionally, exploring alternative pathways like the EB visa route or pursuing further studies could provide more stability and options for your future. Whatever path you choose, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!"

The mode of operation of the church matters. In Churches like MFM, The apostolic faith, and Deeper life, almost all the choir can play an instrument or two. This style makes every member valuable and dispensable. The reason most churches pay there instrumentalists is because they desire a play but doesn't have capable of doing such. Hence, they attract this guys with money to perform. Every worker in the vineyard contributes equally in the sight of God. Therefore, each of them should be treated equally. If you're to pay instrumentalists, then pay ushers, cleaners and co. But the reality is these are unskilled, therefore dispensable. 6 Likes |

Ventura1:I quite disagree with you sir. The outcry of healthcare worker shortage is an illusion. Kindly ask this question, is there any government or institution that d for a position and doesn't have applicants. The last interview they did in UCH Ibadan, over a thousand health personnel applied for different positions, but only a handful of them were appointed. There are underemployed/unemployed. nurses/Community health workers that are readily available for the the Job. But the government don't want to employ. 1 Like |

The wave in health industry now is JAPA, and been a nurse has been one of the easiest way to do that. Ladies and gentlemen, if you're in the journey of getting educated in private schools outside Nigeria within west Africa pls do you findings properly. The best way to do this is , WES, which is a global education evaluation agency. Kindly ask them if they evaluate credentials from your intended institution. The report you get should guide you in making the right decision.

optm:Good day Dr, I am currently struggling with my vision now, I don't see things afar and I tend to strain my eye muscles to focus on images afar. Affecting me later on in the day, making my head banging. I struggle using PC daily that I have to place it nearer to my eyes before I can make adequate use of it. I have visited a D.O sometimes ago and I have a glass. But it's not helping matters. Glasses tend to give me more pain In the eyes and when I complained when I got the glass earlier on, the Dr said I will get use to the glass and I will feel the pain no more. |

chibertha:PharmD is a Bachelor degree in pharmacy. Most health care programs are now having the doctor appellate to there Bachelor's degree. (PharmD, MLS.D, O.D). To the fellow checking out on PhD pharmacy, conventions like that are not easily identified in the US. Though I have seen one or two cases that they exist but it is rare. Check out your for your area of research interests, e.g pharmaceutical Microbiology ( Ecoli mutation reducing drug efficacy) , pharmacology ( Adverse drug reactions in synergistic use of antibiotics). Be on the lookout for research areas, then check out the programs domiciled in that institution then determine anyone that's a right fit for you as a pharmacist. |

Ngoziezel:I understand that your questions are borne out of the desire from your well being. Iron deficient here means iron deficiency anemia. A type of anemia causes as a result of decrease in ( quality) red cell production due to reduction in required iron for rbc production or loss of iron. PCV and Hb gives quatitative analysis, while Mcv, mch, mchc gives qualitative. PCV= percentage of RBC in whole blood. Red Blood Cell Count = This is the number of RBC in the body( 4.1 to 5.1 million per cu. mm The Red cell indices are calculated figures, MCV = PCV/ RBC count, MCHC= Hb/PC, MCH= Hb/RBC count. Your MCV is low because, you have More RBC count, likewise MCH being High RBC count. Note : Iron deficiency anemia rbc are microcytic,( very small RBC). The case is this, you have more RBC count ( more red blood cell is being produced as a compensatory mechanism, to make up for the small size iron deficient). Anemia means reduce hb for 02 transport. I have explained why a man needs blood previously, and what we happen when we lacks it in sufficient quality and quantity for our daily task( 02,co2 removal, nutrient affected) all this can culminate to different symptoms like tiredness, lack of breath e.t.c I think the above explanation should suffice. Going further means, spewing technical jargons which I don't think is necessary or can be comprehended . This is why no Dr on consultation will take his time to be explaining each parameters. As I said earlier on, trust the Dr or go to another, but he has done a good Job. I am not a Dr, but a Medical Laboratory Scientists. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/iron-deficiency-anemia/symptoms-causes/syc-20355034 3 Likes |

Ngoziezel: MCV, MCH, and MCHC are what we call red blood cell indices. They are integral part of full blood count, which are used to classify anemia. As the popular saying, blood is life. But why is blood life?? This is due to its functions( O2, co2, nutrient transportation). So they serve as cariers for these life essential substances. So if they are deficit, all the body functions will be on hold. Blood = Heme + Globin. Heme is made up of 4 iron. So literally, iron, folic acid and vitB12 are needed for blood production. Any physiological( pregnancy, menstruation)or pathological( hookworm infections, hemorrhage) changes that will alter there availability will lead to impaired blood formation , thereby loss of blood. ( Anemia) Now to your questions. 1. As I said mcv, mch are red cell indices, mcv is mean corpuscular volume. As the name implies mean vol of rbc. Let's just say how big or small red cells are. Mch is amount of hemoglobin ( iron) in an average red cell. Though definitive diagnosis can't be made using just the indices, but we have microcytic hypocromic(iron deficiency) anemia. Which I believe your Dr suspected, reason for the iron supplement he recommended. 2.) Am sure your Dr has clerked you, but the anemia should be as a result of something. Are you pregnant?? Parasitic infection?? menstruating??. A vegetarian??. All this cause iron loss in the body. 3.) The drug will do a good Job, because your doc has done a good Job. If you don't have confidence in him, kindly consult another one. 2 Likes |
