I started by learning wedding and documentary, then videography made me love musical video. But be mindful of the type of outlet you're learning from. From experience, it's you that will keep improving and learning. Dem go just teach you basics, na you go find your way.. Location too matter cos some firm go connect you to top clients while others, na you go hustle your tin to the top.. Anyways, it's a good choice

You don't need a template as a newbie, you need a teacher.. You need YouTube and google as friends.. Ask questions and learn the key basic things especially colors... Get a mentor if possible so that it will be easier

It all depend on your budget and also the type of videography (motion graphics/After Effect is involve). Get a 4G dedicated video graphics laptop, 16GB Ram, core i7 and maybe a new generation laptop... But your budget is all that matters. You can also get a screen(monitor or TV) to preview colors for rotouched photos and video color grade/ color correction

Go check getintopc.com and search for the year you want.... You can get most software there for windows and Mac

For videography/editing, get a 4G dedicated video graphics laptop with at least 8/12GB RAM. A core i7 processor would be better.(good for motion graphics/after effect).
You can also get 2G dedicated video graphics laptop with 6/8GB RAM. A core i5 is manageable but might be having issue with After Effect and other new editing software especially when rendering/exporting....

It all depend on what you're editing... But the truth is most of us(editor) don't use plugins anymore.. Go watch YouTube videos, get inspiration from it and do your stuff. Be creative... Except of you want to text animation online. You can get LUTS, overlay n co online though
