Hello everyone, I need your inputs.

I applied for a study visa in December 2023. I was approved in January 2024 (my studies is to begin in September 2024). I am enrolled in a diploma program in a college.

In April 2024, while I was still in Nigeria, I put in a visit visa application for my wife because they had banned SOWP for spouses of students in diploma programs.

While we were applying for my wife's visit visa in April, I was still in Nigeria so we applied for my wife's visit visa independently and that she's going to Canada as a tourist (tourist visa). I didnt mention my study visa in her application and also used myself her one of her hometies since I was still in Nigeria at the time of applying for her visit visa.

We haven't gotten a decision on her visit visa yet... This month (August) I have now arrived Canada to begin my studies next month (September) and I have gotten my study permit.

My question now is, do you think i should raise a webform on my wife's visit visa application to update IRCC about my studies? Or should we just wait for a decision?

Another thing to note is that my wife is currently pregnant and may deliver this month or next..

So what would you advise we do or how would you advise we proceed at this point? Thanks as I await your responses

In my opinion, since your wife is pregnant, it would be best for her to have the baby in Nigeria while you focus on your studies. A one-month timeline isn’t practical for visa approval, submitting your port, and booking a flight, which would be costly. Additionally, it’s not advisable for a pregnant woman to fly within a month of her due date. Bringing your wife to Canada on a visitor permit to give birth could cost you between $10,000 and $15,000, or even more unless you have the resources.

In conclusion, just wait for decision, don’t worry about updating IRCC for now, concentrate on your studies and I wish your wife a safe delivery. After the baby is born, apply for the newborn’s port and include the child in the visa applications if they still wish to visit. That’s all.

Someone said that IRCC has exceeded the number of visa needed for the year by 25% hence the baseless refusals. I think he's right because some refusals here are baseless.

Spot ON!!! Many baseless refusal!

Hello @Everyone!
My study permit application was refused yesterday based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
I paid for two years of tuition, had two statement of s of 26 million Naira and 28,000 Dollars.
I'm feeling let down and could use some guidance - any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry about your refusal! Am sure your application was not properly scrutinize considering the financial aspect. If you have the resource you can go Judicial review.

Good day all,

My wife got her student visa approved last year for 2023 September in-take while I got SWOP. The ission was deferred to January 2025. The school is a college. My question are:
1. Will she need PAL for her entry to Canada?
2. Will I be able to renew my SOWP which will expire before the end of her first year?
3. Do we need to do medicals because the last one has expired last year December?

Thanks

1. No, She won’t need PAL as the rules doesn’t apply to her, She got her visa before they implement the PAL.
2. Yes, you will be able to renew it.
3. Yes, Both of you will have to redo another medical before traveling, update the medical slip to IRCC and have in handy when traveling.

All th best.

"If I pay the two years' school fees and buy a GIC for CAD 20,635, can't I borrow money and say I sold a property?

Considering the fact that I deferred, can I reinstate it and submit because my resumption date is in September?

Paying your two years tuition is very good financial stand for visa application. Do a two year GIC if you know you have a lump-sum in your . If you don't just put the and explain it on your letter of explanation and state it as your living expenses.

If your resumption is in the fall, you can still reinstate it as long as your school has an available seat for you.

If you can vouch for him why did I get refused? If you can vouch for him why did he submit my application when he clearly knew that IRCC needed an attention letter?

Stop this thing abeg, Abi na you be Justmellow?

That's why it's crucial to be fully engaged when you submit your visa application through an agent. In fact, I don't recommend using agents at all. Many of you prefer to have agents handle everything, avoiding the effort of doing your own research. My vouch of him is based on my previous experiences shared in this thread, not on your current dealings with him. Anyone who has been around here for a while can confirm that they knew him before they began monetizing their services.

BillQ:

God bless you, @Bobomaigida. He asked me to defer my ission, so I had to defer, but I’ve not completed the process.

Just to be sure, sir, you want me to go ahead and pay the 2nd-year tuition. After that, should I buy a GIC worth $41,270?

I am not going to lie, I have the money for the next year's fees and also an extra 7.5 million.

Will this work? So I can travel by the first of July to get it done. When I paid my fees, I paid it through someone else’s domiciliary , a family friend. But I have mine now that I opened. What I want to be sure about is after paying the fees, buying a GIC worth $20,635 for one year, and having 7.5 million in my , can it be explained in the SOP that I’ll be able to complete the remaining?

Please let me know if this will work. God bless.

Don’t forget, Nairalanders, this is another minute to remind you that @Justmellow uses ChatGPT 3.5 to write SOPs for people. He’s the dumbest idiot I’ve seen in my life. He got swayed by the reviews on here that were also done by him and his hungry people that he pays peanuts.

Bobomaigida, God bless. I’ll be anticipating your reply so I can prepare to travel.

I’d like to request my GCMS notes, the foolish @Justmellow gave a paper to fill, I printed it out and filled it, he’s a broke wretched fool, so I believe he won’t be able to pay for the paid version except the free one. So boss I don’t mind paying for it so it can be requested. God bless .

Calm down, bro! No agent can guarantee you a visa, your fate lies with the IRCC, which determines if you meet the eligibility criteria. Paying full tuition and purchasing a two-year GIC doesn't guarantee a visa either. We've seen people who only paid their first semester fees and showed that the remaining funds would be readily available, and they got their PPR. Often, your source of funds must be clearly stated in your application, and you need the documents to back it up. Even then, some people still get rejected.

I tell people, If you are too busy to DIY, you must ready to asked questions from your Agent, ask for all the docs before the submission. Don't be at the edge of telling the agent to just package everything for you, people tend to do this a lot and they came online to rant that the agent do them bad once they got rejected.

Back to @JustMellow, this guy is a guru of the Canada visa thread before they started monetizing it . Those who have been on this thread for 4-5 years will know him, and I can vouch for him. I've been on this thread for a couple of years and got my visa approved through DIY. I've already completed my two-year program in Canada. JustMellow wrote my SOP in 2021, wrote my wife's SOWP, and helped a couple of people I know personally. I did all the documentation and submission myself. While I'm not trying to defend him in your case, as I don't know him personally and have never met him, he only wrote my SOP, I proofread by myself, and I do some addition and subtraction. But I'm confident that if you ask him any questions about Canada immigration, and other gurus on this thread they will provide valuable insights and clarifications.

Before buying a GIC or anything else, get your notes to understand the reason for your rejection. Alternatively, if you know someone in Canada, ask them to the MP in your school’s riding so they can reach out to the IRCC and find out why you were rejected, that can be done is just a week. (Note: You can only do this if you have a valid reason or if your resumption date is very close). Please don't reapply blindly, as I can see your funds are readily available. Often, clearly explaining the source of funds and providing documents to back up your claim is crucial. Avoid submitting bulky documents, be straightforward. And, of course, ask questions on this thread.

Just to let you know no agents can guarantee you visa, THEY ARE NOT IRCC

I wish you God’s speed in your reapplication.

I welcome my family to Canada on Sunday. The procedure is seamless. At the CBSA, they requested my means of identification from my wife and inquired how long I had been here. To everyone waiting to unite with their family, I wish you all good news soonest. We shall reap the good fruits of this Canada in Jesus' name.

Hi guys. My 2 cents for newbies and people who want to embark on this Canada journey. Please make sure your DLI offers PGWP after graduation. It's so pathetic seeing some folks who just arrived in my province a few days ago, and almost all their DLI(s) don't offer PGWP. See, Changing DLI in Canada is not as simple as many make it out to be because you will have so much to do immediately after you arrive here than start thinking about changing DLI. That school you have been eyeing for months before you commit to them, make sure you check again. Check very well before paying tuition fees, depositing, or submitting your visa application. Click the link below and check. If your school says YES, you are good to go. If it says YES & more details, try and read the details very well because some courses are not eligible for PGWP in some school. Ire oooooh

Hello all

Pls if ur visa is already approved but medical expired before you left and u already done a new one,do u have to wait till its ed before you can travel or the fact u have done a new one is sufficient

I ask coz the letter on introduction states when the medical expires so i thought one would need an updated LOI before travelling.please note its an SOWP visa and was issued last month

Please if u have experienced this, kindly assit as i need to travel very soon

Once your visa has been approved, your application is already close . Do the new medical, send it as webform & email the slip to IRCC, hold the medical slip when you are traveling. You don’t need to wait for update as there’s nothing like updated LOI again.

I dont think they will send you back. It is wise to come in early. What matters is you have the right to enter Canada.

You right! But ready to answer if CBSA asks why you come in too early before your start date. Also, it's not a wise decision to come in early. We understand the anxiousness of wanting to travel as soon as you get your stamped port. Well, If you have enough stack $ oo, you can come in early and start spending lol (nobody go tell you, nah your naira-naira exchange go tell you that one). But for people with “in yoruba voice ‘Owo oniru, Owo Oniyo’ means, you whey be say you gada $ all you had both home and away together for this Canada journey, you will start spending $ not naira again ooo, and you can't start working until your school resumes. So one month before resumption is still ideal, and you can settle in within that time frame.

I'm not discouraging anyone who want to come in early, Pls just make sure you have a valid cause and put a few extra factors in place. Shalom

Good day everyone. For those that have traveled with an infant(0-2 years). Please, does the airline provide a bassinet seating area for a baby? My spouse and daughter will be flying with Lufthansa, even though I have been trying to the airline to confirm this, but I haven't gotten a response from them. I paid for two travelers, and it showed a seat for an additional fee which I thought should be optional. Since I paid for two travelers, do I have to pay for a bassinet seat for a baby? Please, anyone that has traveled with a baby. Do you lap your baby, or does the airline provides this seat? Thanks.

Not to fear. All other races full here, we need more blacks(9jas) too. Make we populate all province. If is a year program, you are good to go with that amount. Just make sure the funds are readily available to you, not just only show IRCC I get 15M for POF.

Also, have it at the back of your mind that a year program will only give you one year Post graduate work permit. While two years program will you give you three years work permit. And which I know you may likely want to apply for another one year program again so don't be caught off guard. That's why you have to map your plan very well so you can settling in softly.

not entirely true. There are cheaper second hand electric bikes and scooters. Indian students are surviving on uber eats even in snow storms they still do it as there will be a surge and promotions then. They dont have two head sir

Who tell you that one. most of them have other jobs they alternate it with, they do it in free time, off days or by any chances. I have few folks, even our 9ja’s doing ubereats too. They most highest $ they make are during rush hrs, & holidays and slightly weekends coz most people eat out during the weekends. I'm not arguing with you, I just dey add to what you said about borrowed funds. Everybody go survive Canada. Canada too sweet, once you map out your plan very well! Make sure your POF is readily available to you for spending. Pls don't follow mouth, that once you arrive you will start making money that will all your tuition. Draw your plans, and ready to integrate, and everywhere go soft. It's just a process. Shalom again.

uber eats with bicycle or electric bike is there they should go do that one. There are many fast food stores, grocery stores etc looking for staff. What kind of job did you think will be available to students in the first place. Many students came to Canada with borrowed funds and showing proof of funds. Now they are crying. You better endure and wait for better days. After all no one forced you to apply.

You are so funny! Like electric bike are cheap, They cost almost $1800-$2000 or how many Nigerian can ride electric bike inside this canada weather. One can only do ubereat if you have a job to alternate with, you can't survive only with ubereats in Canada. This Japa journey I won't even advice any of my family member or even enemies to come with borrowed funds. My own cent is, if you are doing 2years program, have at least one-year tuition, or even full tuition, and your one-year living expenses in handy, and make sure those funds are readily available to you. No con come here and start be doing Mumu video lol. Students are working unlimited hrs now that if you submited your study permit application before IRCC announce the unlimited hrs. If you recently submits your application nah just 20hrs you fit do. Make friends with other races, and don't forsake the black community, coz most part-time jobs are based on referral. If you are coming to BC this summer. Holla me when you land, my company will be recruiting this summer (only for guys), if you sabi drive and have an original 9ja license that's a plus for you with additional $, all you just to need to take is one driving practice test, and learn those road sign. Pls its might take me longer to respond. Coz time nah money for here. But send me a message you have arrived. Will send my number to you for link up. Shalom

Hi Everyone,
I am applying for a visitor visit visa for my wife to birth in Canada.
Her sister, who is a citizen, is inviting us.
I am concerned that if we get the visa and show up pregnant, we might be turned down at POE or affect chances in future applications.

I am now considering adding the statement below to the invitation letter to be signed by my sister-in-law.

"Time of visit/Duration: From 17th May to 31st May 2023 / Two weeks.

Please note that if it is permissible, I would love for my sister to stay for eight additional weeks to have her baby here in Canada. It will give me great pleasure to participate in welcoming their newborn, as I have not seen any of her children before. Her family can foot the bill for birthing here in Canada, and they can prove that"

is this a suicide mission?
Has anyone tried this before?

The bolded phrases are okay if you add it to the invitation letter, but how many weeks is your wife pregnancy? Because with the processing time of visitors visa and approval rate for visit is quite low for now, but we can't tell, you might be lucky she get her visa approved before her due date.
