jayciekey: In my opinion, since your wife is pregnant, it would be best for her to have the baby in Nigeria while you focus on your studies. A one-month timeline isn’t practical for visa approval, submitting your port, and booking a flight, which would be costly. Additionally, it’s not advisable for a pregnant woman to fly within a month of her due date. Bringing your wife to Canada on a visitor permit to give birth could cost you between $10,000 and $15,000, or even more unless you have the resources. In conclusion, just wait for decision, don’t worry about updating IRCC for now, concentrate on your studies and I wish your wife a safe delivery. After the baby is born, apply for the newborn’s port and include the child in the visa applications if they still wish to visit. That’s all. |

Yes, Both of you will have to redo another medical before traveling, update the medical slip to IRCC and have in handy when traveling. All th best. |

BillQ: Paying your two years tuition is very good financial stand for visa application. Do a two year GIC if you know you have a lump-sum in your . If you don't just put the and explain it on your letter of explanation and state it as your living expenses. If your resumption is in the fall, you can still reinstate it as long as your school has an available seat for you. |

BillQ: That's why it's crucial to be fully engaged when you submit your visa application through an agent. In fact, I don't recommend using agents at all. Many of you prefer to have agents handle everything, avoiding the effort of doing your own research. My vouch of him is based on my previous experiences shared in this thread, not on your current dealings with him. Anyone who has been around here for a while can confirm that they knew him before they began monetizing their services. |

BillQ: Calm down, bro! No agent can guarantee you a visa, your fate lies with the IRCC, which determines if you meet the eligibility criteria. Paying full tuition and purchasing a two-year GIC doesn't guarantee a visa either. We've seen people who only paid their first semester fees and showed that the remaining funds would be readily available, and they got their PPR. Often, your source of funds must be clearly stated in your application, and you need the documents to back it up. Even then, some people still get rejected. I tell people, If you are too busy to DIY, you must ready to asked questions from your Agent, ask for all the docs before the submission. Don't be at the edge of telling the agent to just package everything for you, people tend to do this a lot and they came online to rant that the agent do them bad once they got rejected. Back to @JustMellow, this guy is a guru of the Canada visa thread before they started monetizing it . Those who have been on this thread for 4-5 years will know him, and I can vouch for him. I've been on this thread for a couple of years and got my visa approved through DIY. I've already completed my two-year program in Canada. JustMellow wrote my SOP in 2021, wrote my wife's SOWP, and helped a couple of people I know personally. I did all the documentation and submission myself. While I'm not trying to defend him in your case, as I don't know him personally and have never met him, he only wrote my SOP, I proofread by myself, and I do some addition and subtraction. But I'm confident that if you ask him any questions about Canada immigration, and other gurus on this thread they will provide valuable insights and clarifications. Before buying a GIC or anything else, get your notes to understand the reason for your rejection. Alternatively, if you know someone in Canada, ask them to the MP in your school’s riding so they can reach out to the IRCC and find out why you were rejected, that can be done is just a week. (Note: You can only do this if you have a valid reason or if your resumption date is very close). Please don't reapply blindly, as I can see your funds are readily available. Often, clearly explaining the source of funds and providing documents to back up your claim is crucial. Avoid submitting bulky documents, be straightforward. And, of course, ask questions on this thread. Just to let you know no agents can guarantee you visa, THEY ARE NOT IRCC I wish you God’s speed in your reapplication. 2 Likes |

I welcome my family to Canada on Sunday. The procedure is seamless. At the CBSA, they requested my means of identification from my wife and inquired how long I had been here. To everyone waiting to unite with their family, I wish you all good news soonest. We shall reap the good fruits of this Canada in Jesus' name.

Hi guys. My 2 cents for newbies and people who want to embark on this Canada journey. Please make sure your DLI offers PGWP after graduation. It's so pathetic seeing some folks who just arrived in my province a few days ago, and almost all their DLI(s) don't offer PGWP. See, Changing DLI in Canada is not as simple as many make it out to be because you will have so much to do immediately after you arrive here than start thinking about changing DLI. That school you have been eyeing for months before you commit to them, make sure you check again. Check very well before paying tuition fees, depositing, or submitting your visa application. Click the link below and check. If your school says YES, you are good to go. If it says YES & more details, try and read the details very well because some courses are not eligible for PGWP in some school. PrinceAdeAde: Once your visa has been approved, your application is already close . Do the new medical, send it as webform & email the slip to IRCC, hold the medical slip when you are traveling. You don’t need to wait for update as there’s nothing like updated LOI again. 3 Likes |

deejay102: You right! But ready to answer if CBSA asks why you come in too early before your start date. Also, it's not a wise decision to come in early. We understand the anxiousness of wanting to travel as soon as you get your stamped port. Well, If you have enough stack $ oo, you can come in early and start spending lol (nobody go tell you, nah your naira-naira exchange go tell you that one). But for people with “in yoruba voice ‘Owo oniru, Owo Oniyo’ means, you whey be say you gada $ all you had both home and away together for this Canada journey, you will start spending $ not naira again ooo, and you can't start working until your school resumes. So one month before resumption is still ideal, and you can settle in within that time frame. I'm not discouraging anyone who want to come in early, Pls just make sure you have a valid cause and put a few extra factors in place. Shalom 11 Likes |

Good day everyone. For those that have traveled with an infant(0-2 years). Please, does the airline provide a bassinet seating area for a baby? My spouse and daughter will be flying with Lufthansa, even though I have been trying to the airline to confirm this, but I haven't gotten a response from them. I paid for two travelers, and it showed a seat for an additional fee which I thought should be optional. Since I paid for two travelers, do I have to pay for a bassinet seat for a baby? Please, anyone that has traveled with a baby. Do you lap your baby, or does the airline provides this seat? Thanks.

Enitan1998: Enitan head no be the same, grace also differ. Prayed to God correct prayer before loading up your bag. Once you arrived dont be picky with jobs, you go do job whey you never do for 9ja before but trust me, one jobs will be leading to a better one. Me as an example. I didn't even apply for jobs when I arrived last yrs April. Someone refer me, I got the job, at least to keep up with ny bills, and got laid off few months after from the job, not up to to 2weeks again I got another job based on person referral, (person no person, or person tell you they are accepting people here), and still hoping for a better offer which I know God go do ham. Once you arrived network with people, don't close mouth, forget that your naira, comot eye like you no get shishi. Also be your brother keepers even though nobody get your time for here, forget those panting Nigeria are bad abroad, they are also good ones. We are nice people, and with a good reputation here. 18 Likes |

Enitan1998: Not to fear. All other races full here, we need more blacks(9jas) too. Make we populate all province. If is a year program, you are good to go with that amount. Just make sure the funds are readily available to you, not just only show IRCC I get 15M for POF. Also, have it at the back of your mind that a year program will only give you one year Post graduate work permit. While two years program will you give you three years work permit. And which I know you may likely want to apply for another one year program again so don't be caught off guard. That's why you have to map your plan very well so you can settling in softly. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Maria96: Who tell you that one. most of them have other jobs they alternate it with, they do it in free time, off days or by any chances. I have few folks, even our 9ja’s doing ubereats too. They most highest $ they make are during rush hrs, & holidays and slightly weekends coz most people eat out during the weekends. I'm not arguing with you, I just dey add to what you said about borrowed funds. Everybody go survive Canada. Canada too sweet, once you map out your plan very well! Make sure your POF is readily available to you for spending. Pls don't follow mouth, that once you arrive you will start making money that will all your tuition. Draw your plans, and ready to integrate, and everywhere go soft. It's just a process. Shalom again. 1 Like |

Maria96: You are so funny! Like electric bike are cheap, They cost almost $1800-$2000 or how many Nigerian can ride electric bike inside this canada weather. One can only do ubereat if you have a job to alternate with, you can't survive only with ubereats in Canada. This Japa journey I won't even advice any of my family member or even enemies to come with borrowed funds. My own cent is, if you are doing 2years program, have at least one-year tuition, or even full tuition, and your one-year living expenses in handy, and make sure those funds are readily available to you. No con come here and start be doing Mumu video lol. Students are working unlimited hrs now that if you submited your study permit application before IRCC announce the unlimited hrs. If you recently submits your application nah just 20hrs you fit do. Make friends with other races, and don't forsake the black community, coz most part-time jobs are based on referral. If you are coming to BC this summer. Holla me when you land, my company will be recruiting this summer (only for guys), if you sabi drive and have an original 9ja license that's a plus for you with additional $, all you just to need to take is one driving practice test, and learn those road sign. Pls its might take me longer to respond. Coz time nah money for here. But send me a message you have arrived. Will send my number to you for link up. Shalom 4 Likes |

Muna0706: The bolded phrases are okay if you add it to the invitation letter, but how many weeks is your wife pregnancy? Because with the processing time of visitors visa and approval rate for visit is quite low for now, but we can't tell, you might be lucky she get her visa approved before her due date. 1 Like |

You don't have to travel down to Abuja, don't waste your flight money. Visit any DHL or UPS in port Harcourt to submits your port, and request a 2-way courier. |

Guys! I tracked my daughter's port now, and it says it has been couriered from VAC Abuja on its way back, while my spouse says it's still under process at IRCC Office. Is anyone in this kind of situation, or what could be the issue? Both ports were submitted as one timeline and file, and I also paid for UPS 2-way courier. Wonder why they couriered my daughter's port and left the other port behind.

ObinnaAugustine: I think so! Since you are in Abuja just go to any DHL near you or UPS. Request for 2-way courier. I bet it will be same-day delivery. |
