The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”

The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”

The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover, if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery, there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”

“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”

The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”

The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her, this world would not and could not exist.”

Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”

To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”

Fill im the old port details and then fill a date less than when it is to expire.
Secondly, go on and make payment for the new port. You will receive the receipt and acknowledgement invoices.
In the additional information part of the form, explain that your port has expired and you have made payment for the new one and await capturing however you need to apply for your visa.
Also add that you have attached your port application form and receipts to your ing documents.
As long as you are inside the UK doing this application and do the above you will not be punished for any port problem. When you receive the new port even after your visa is out, fill the update form for UKVI.

1. The old port has expired in 2023, do you mean I should put 2024 so that I can proceed with filling of the remaining session?

ECO’s argument is that the child can as well stay back with you in Nigeria since you do not plan on travelling and mother is going for studies which is temporary and can come back after her studies. ECO wants child to have love and care of both parents 24/7 in foreign land.
Both of you should be applying or providing strong COMPELLING reasons why you cant go + evidence of school and care arrangements for the child that you have already put in place.

name change/modification is easier on NIN than on port due to Nigerian corruption. Ask the NIN officials over there that you would like to do data modification on your NIN.
Official price is 500 naira on Remita website
You will need affidavit, payment receipt, application letter, newspaper publication.
Then modify the name arrangements to suit the name pattern that is already on your international port.
If you feel you don’t want your international port to carry ur 1st name as your middle name and vice versa, then do CORRECTION OF DATA on the port.
You will need the following documents readily prepared;
Go to the Correction of Data site and locate what is applicable to you
https://port.immigration.gov.ng/main

· Application Letter stating reasons for the request and attached with evidence of payment of non-refundable istrative Charge of NGN 30,000.00 only.
Previous documentary evidences to request.

My advice is to get yourself in the system and build up a credit profile asap as soon as you arrive in the country. It is ok to do cash in hand but having a job which is subject to tax and NI is important as well. Once you get a job, get a credit card to use and pay off regularly in (don't miss any payments) to build up your credit score so when it comes to applying for a mortgage you will be in good stead. A contract phone is also another way...just make sure you pay on time each month. Good idea to set up standing orders or direct debits so you don't miss anything. In this fast UK lifestyle it is very easy to forget to pay something so it is best to automate key payments.

If you are under 30 and intend to buy then do so asap as you are more likely to get a 35 year mortgage. Don't be put of by the number of yeats because anyhouse bought today is certainly going to increase in value. The UK is an Island and only around 10% of the land is built on and so there is always going to be high demand for properties.

Look into schemes that the UK Govt has to help first time buyers like LISA where you get £1k free each year for every £4 saved to help you build up a deposit. You and your partner can both open LISA s and get up to £1k free each every year which can be combined to make your deposit

Many may not be too comfortable about the advice below but here is what I did..

In of property, alwasy punch above your weight in that It doesn't matter if the mortgage payments are more than you can afford. even thoug the bank will assess your affordability based on your income, just try and go for as much as you can. The goal is to secure a property (always go for freehold) . Once you get one, you can always rent out a room or two and that will help with mortgage payments.

Buy properties in high rent locations like near key stations, universities, amenities ect.

London areas now which to me are still affordable and good for rentals yields are Belvedere, Erith and Abbeywood, Romford.

If London is completely out of the question then look at university cities/towns like coventry, birmingham, huddersfield, Manchester, colchester ect for solid cheap houses which can be changed into HMOs to house students. Students pay on average around £450-£500 a room and most pay in full for a year.

Oh yeah and once a house increases in equity, remortage if you can take out the money and use it as a deposit on another house..that's if your intent is to build a property portfolio.

Another tip, always overpay your monthly mortgage if you can as it reduces the interest.

I only ed my TB test and offer letter from the uni, my CAS stated that I was not expected to pay tuition fees and that I had a yearly maintenance of £16k so no need for POF.

Paid call: Aug 15th (decision made)
