- Everyone believes Shagari's istration was corrupt, but NO one that was jailed by Buhari is guilty, everyone is innocent. Yet they istration was corrupt. Yes some people were jailed only on suspicion and alleges, not based on actual facts, but then when fighting a war on corruption, non-corrupt politicians who are caught in the cross fire are what you might term "collateral damage"

- On Awwal Ibrahim - read wikipedia page http:///FGZGBFmrAh

- A consortium offer to pay 90% of 700 million dollars, while Lagos will pay 10% in 1982…what are the details of this huge debt. With inflation rate and all that, what amount of debt will lagos be in now if that deal had gone through.

- If this consortium are really as honest why didn't they return the 60+ million already paid to them..or even part of it.

- What was Ogedegbe's crime? Drugs. Check wikipedia list of countries that apply same capital punishment for drugs and drugs related offences (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_for_drug_trafficking#Countries_that_apply_capital_punishment_for_drugs) United States is one of them. China is there, UAE is there.

- Prof Wole Soyinka was quoted saying Buhari enjoyed a master-slave relationship while ruling in 1984-1985. Yet what we are experiencing now is not more different from a master-slave relationship in 2015. Explain to me why all roads have to be closed and commercial activities shut down when the wife of the president comes to town...not the president ooo, the wife.

- Buhari was ruling as a military dictator, He came to take over a Nigeria that was enmeshed in corruption and lawlessness. Yes, he used some very strong measures, but same could be said of Fashola of Lagos, most of us have forgotten what a den of lions CMS, Oshodi, Obalende etc used to be like before BRF. Most of us forgot also that BRF used every form of force available to clean those places up. Were some innocents affected? YES. Is the whole Lagos better for it? YES. During Buhari's fight against corruption, were some innocents affected, YES. Was the whole nation better for it? YES.

- Most people will say YES now if a govt asked to BAN NURTW in lagos, we call them agberos. In 1984, all those associations, ASU, NMA, NUT, NUJ are just what the agberos were today. Unstructured and a platform for embezzlement. Today those associations are far better managed and equipped than they were then, thanks to a jolt back to reality by Buhari.

- GEJ called IBB his father, dare I say like father like son? Civilians who live in Obalende and Ikoyi during IBBs regime will tell you the high handedness of the military during IBBs reign, so IBB is suddenly a father to GEJ and GMB is the devil, when both men operate under same rules. The death of Dele Giwa is still fresh in some our memories....

- Buhari retrenched 200K civil servants. Please pay a visit to any Govt. Office on a monday morning and see the "roborebe" (nonsense) they do there and tell me if they are worthy of work. Of the 200K sacked, how many were actual workers and how many were ghost workers? How many resumes office by 9 and leave by 11?

- On Ghana Must Go: How many mexicans are deported on a daily basis in the US alone? When foreigners are in your country illegally and it doesn't bother you, you are breeding the ground for stuffs like Boko Haram. Deporting 700K Ghanians MIGHT not be the politically correct thing to do, but Buhari was on a mission to clean Nigeria and clean it he did. Today, our borders were so porous, that cameroonian army can match to a nigerian city across the border without any hinderance. It's time for another Chad, Niger, Cameroon, Mali etc MUST GO.

- I WAI was so successful that even after IBB abolished it, for years, people still obey moral and public rules like queueing and not littering.

- I lived in the army barracks for about 10 years, You dare not drop a piece of paper on the road and get caught. You will sweep the whole street, if you are lucky, the street might be short. If you are unlucky....That is the discipline we endured as "Barack Boys". You don't urinate on the road, you queue when you need to, you respect elders etc. isn't that good? why is WAI and it's implementation a bad thing?

- They said Maitatsine killed over 1K, how many Ks have BH killed. They said it started under Buhari, but that's a lie, it started under shagari. Buhari dealt a massive blow to Maitatsine and quench the fire of religious fundamentalism in Nigeria for years. He personally lead the battle against Maitatsine, meanwhile GEJ personally hid from Borno state until it was time for election.

- On the 53 suit cases issue, I'll let GMB speak for himself.

“Coincidentally, the Nigerian ambassador to Libya at the time, Dr Tahir Waziri had arrived at the same time with the emir with his three wives and 16 children. They all came with their belongings as he was coming home to take up a new appointment as chief of protocol to the head of state.”

“It was the suitcases of the family of 20 that were counted as belonging to the emir and falsely presented to the public. General Buhari has over the years asked those who have questions over the matter to go to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was at the head of Customs operations at the airport on the day,” his spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Buhari has asked Jonathan to explain “what happened to the case of N104m seized from Nancy Ebere Nwosu who allegedly swore to an affidavit to the EFCC that she was laundering money for Dame Patience Jonathan.”

He also wants the president to explain “the announcement by the then EFCC spokesman, Mr Osita Nwajah on September 11, 2006 that the sum of USD13.5 million was seized from another associate of Mrs. Jonathan which the anti-graft body said belonged to the now first lady.”

- On Umar Dikko, What were his crimes? if Dubai had failed to arrest and extradite James Ibori and OBJ had used similar methods to bring him to Nigeria and answer for his crimes, would we have praised or castigated OBJ?

- I wish I was living in those times, where Nigeria can carry out a kidnapping on british soil. Sounds like something out of a science fiction novel, but that is the resolve of GMB to punish corrupt govt. officials. But today, our president is referred to as one man called Jonathan.

- On 2.8 Billion Naira missing and other corruption allegations, GMB has been investigated twice. By Obasanjo and by Shagari, both found nothing against the man. Today 20 Billions Dollars disappeared from NNPC , the whistle blower, one of the most economic savvy men in the country SLS was sacked. Our president's response? "America Will Know".

- All the roads GMB built while chairman of PTF, GEJ while a president has not been able to build half of that.

- On Ahmad Salihijo, read this (http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/weekly/index.php/tribute/10110-salihijo-ahmad-still-on-our-minds)

- They give quotes that people say while with the opposition. If we go by what FFK, Abati etc has said previously about the same man they want us to vote now.....

- And the last thing in the video is the summary of the video, a joke. A comic relief.

The only thing confusing about people who don't believe in an higher being (God) is this.

Everything in this world that man didn't meet in the world was created by MAN, but then MAN believes every other thing he met here just existed.

No matter what GOD you believe in, it is the rational thing to do. Someone must have put these things there. The universe as a whole is TOO organized for it to just EXIST. Those who don't believe in a supreme being are actually irrational. NOTHING JUST HAPPENS. Even those who believe ALIENS are the gods history talks about are far more rational than atheists.

@chritemmbassy

Do you believe in giving? I do.

Now there are so many ways you can give, tithing is one of them.

You don't have to believe in tithing, because "No one puts their trust in something they have not tested and found worthy". So if you don't believe in tithing, that's fine. It's not my job to convince you, it is the job of the Holy Spirit, my own job is to tell you.

For instance, I don't believe in taking food supplements, despite the fact that so many people around me do. Those that take it have definitely found something in it that's working for them.

Lastly, "He that knows what is right and does not do it, to him it is sin". So if I know tithing is right and I did not do it, I have sinned. You haven't sinned by not tithing, because to you it is not right to tithe, if you go ahead and tithe, you have sinned. I might be wrong, but like Paul, when the time is right, the Holy Spirit will convince me otherwise.

ciao

Versioning has nothing to do with language. I am a java programmer and I use git. I started with mercurial before moving to git. I can't what mercurial looks like, but git has one very important folder in your root folder called .git and that's all.

I actually have a diffferent opinion about programming.

Don't get me wrong, javalove is a VERY VERY close friend of mine. And we have had this argument a couple of times. I don't believe writing Hello World makes you a Programmer. NO!. Same way you can't predict Paracetamol for headache and call yourself a Doctor. If you call yourself a Programmer because you write helloworld or 1+1, then what do you call Linux Torvalds?

I actually wrote a blog sometimes ago, it's a funny read if you are interested. It's not as serious as javalove's post.

I'm a little bit late to the party.

First, it is not wrong to give to God, read the richest man in Babylon, a complete unbeliever said you should give 10% to the gods.

Second, If you are a christian and you read your bible, you will know that even in the new testament people give to God. There's a man who gave to God and God has to send Peter to his house to show him the way of salvation. Tithing is just one of the ways you give to God. There are others - First fruit, Prophet Offering etc. One of the most powerful offering is benevolence offering (giving to the poor). Blessed is he that considers the poor, the Lord will deliver him in the days of trouble.

Third, the reason why those other offerings are not as prominently mentioned as the tithe is because the tithe is very compulsory according to Malachi, nothing PAYING it means you are robbing God. No other type of giving carries such weight as the tithe. Notice I used the word PAY and not GIVE, a tenth of your income is not yours, it is Gods. It is a way of saying, God, I know I couldn't have made this income if you have not given me the opportunity. Tithe is a way of praising God and the Bible says God inhabits the praise of His people. Even as kids, I we save up to buy Mum a mother's day gift. Of course from all the money she's been giving us. It's a way of saying Thanks.

Fourth, you can pay your tithe and still be broke, sick, or even die. Faith and Tithe are not the same. Kathryn Kulman (can't the spelling) cured a lot of people of diverse diseases and she died of cancer. You have to release your faith for something (or against it). How do you release your faith? By positive confessions. A man shall be satisfied by the abundance of his lips. So if you don't want to die young, start confessing God's word. If you don't want to be poor, start confessing God's word.

Fifth, you should really check the kind of church you attend. Where the tithe was first mentioned in the Bible, King of Sodom wanted to give Abraham stuff, but he said he won't collect, he said "I have lifted my hands to God". Now I go to a church where the Pastor said and I quote "The day I climb the pulpit to raise an offering, you all should leave. We (Christians, Pastors included) don't talk about our needs to people, we tell God our needs and of course God uses people to meet those needs. He (God) stirs the heart of men." If you go to a church where every service is an opportunity to raise offering, where you are compelled, pushed, cajoled and all manner of theatrics are performed to get your money, your Pastor has not discovered the truth, the truth is if you lift your hands to God, he will stir the hearts of men. One of the most important messages my Pastor taught us is "God is my source".

Lastly, according to the first time tithe was paid, Abraham received bread and wine from Melchizedek and in return he gave him the tithe. Pay your tithe to the place where you get Bread (the word of God) and Wine (The spirit of God, Grace). So if a church is blessing you spiritually and you are paying to another church, you are not doing it right.

Hi BusHouse,

There's really no *high* demands for the Symbian version right now. And as a startup, we are already under-staffed grin.

Just kidding though, but if there are demands for a symbian version high enough to justify the time investment, why not? This is the first time I am getting a request for a symbian version

Thanks

Dad = 50
Mom = 50
Total = 100

Shirt = 97
Change = 3

100 = Change + Shirt

Then Later
Mom = 1
Dad = 1
Change = 1

So

100 = Mom + Dad + Change + Shirt.

But to go back to when you had 0
Mom would be -49, Dad would also be -49, Change would be 1 and Shirt would be 97

So

0 = Mom  + Dad + Change + Shirt.

In any case you have to take the shirt into consideration.

IMHO I think NYSC has outlived its importance. It should be scrapped. This young man would still be alive, in the UK if not for this stupid mess called NYSC. We should stop sending our young men and women to their untimely death in the name of NYSC. I and a couple of others are working frantically to abolish NYSC or send people to serve in their HOME TOWN if they must serve. If the abokis want to fight and kill, let them do so, but not kill innocent youths.

There's an opinion poll we set up, our aim is to get as many as enough votes and we can take this to the appropriate quarters, please vote here http://www.faffies.com/index.php/question/vote/up/think-we-should-stop-sending-innocent-youths-to-their-death-in-the-name-of-NYSC

Thank you.

I am a Christian. I am talking to all the muslims.

the real problem is not the extremists who hardly have brains to think anything progressive and nice and have put a very bad image of Islam throughout the world. The real problem is you, and millions of Muslims like you who have done nothing to condemn or fight these extremists. They have taken your religion and not only have you not put up a fight, but you have not said a word. Wake up before it is too late!! Go ahead, verbally condem them, then fight and kill them while you still have the same religion that you once had, the religion of peace. Else in generations to come, the word Islam might as well mean violence(NOTE the direct opposite) in the dictionary!!!

I lost my system and since then I have been looking for it. Good news is, I found a site that explains how to get and play it again, I followed the insctructions and viola, I have the game again, I can't wait to get home to show my friends, it's obvious no one is gonna sleep tonight, hahahah

The original post is http://trinisoftinc./2010/02/19/so-you-wanna-be-a-programmer/ That link also features on or two interesting comments.

Programming is anything but easy. Programming is hard work. Programming is one of the most difficult things you will ever do in a life time. Programming is not trivial. On a scale of 1 to 10, programming is probably on 8 or 9 as far as difficulty is concerned. The geeks are also not making things easier, they have all these that are just there to make you as much more confused as you can be. An example SaaS, XML/RPC, REST. A closer look and a better understanding will reveal that those three are so closely related that some other profession could have just named them all as ONE. But not so here, you must be confused, you must know the distinction between a plus and a positive sign!!

Programming has a mystic quality that makes almost everyone wants to do it, or at least wants to be identified as a programmer. Programming has a mystic quality that makes everyone think they can do it. Programming has a mystic quality that makes everyone think those who do it are super humans on steroids. gods like Linus Torvalds aren’t making it easy at all.

Programming can not be learnt in 24 hours, nor can you grasp it in 7 days. Think of learning programming, think of a 10 year course! Even medical students spend 7 years learning the profession. And I am saying 10 years if you started early, if you started late? we are looking at say 15 years or more. You can not do programming as a part time job. You can not learnt it as a part time study. Most programmers I know don’t have a life outside the programming box.

You can not afford to make mistakes here. It’s like an incantation that must be said precisely as it is. Else the magic won’t work. Your code won’t compile, if they do compile, they won’t run, if they do run, they will have bugs. You talk of debugging? you are looking at a job that will cause you more headaches than a troublesome wife, especially if the code belongs to someone else. You won’t be happy all of the time, most of the time your code will depress you. You will sit at it far far late into the night, only to find out that you have spent 6 to 7 hours looking for a misplaced comma, or semi colon.

Code monkeys will come at your code while you sleep, things that have been working before you go to sleep will suddenly stop working. At times you won’t even know where the error is. And you will be forced to waddle through the code from the beginning. At times your codes will have ideas of their own, different from what you intended. You will be frustrated at times. You will spend the better part of your life not developing applications like Monster Truck, or GMail, or Facebook. The better part of your programming life will be spent writing, testing and debugging codes that may never make it out of your box. If you are lucky, you might have one project that will be widely used.

So you wanna be a programmer? These are few of the things they won’t tell you in college. Things that I think you should know before you start on this path. Things that “learn this and this in 24 hours” won’t tell you. Things that books won’t tell you. You want to be a programmer? Think again!

Even the java designer will not say this. are you just waking up from sleep? have you used photoshop, dreamweaver, 3D Max etc before? that is C/C++.

Just for the case of comparison. Google Chrome Vs dreamweaver. A unique case of Java Vs. C++.

Now let me be clear. Java CAN BE SLOW. The JVM takes some time to start-up. So for the first few seconds, you experience that slowness. If all you want to do is hello world. Please go and use python or php. Java was not meant to do hello world very fast. But for long running processes, that are U intensive, have many possibilities for memory leaks and are either single or multithreaded, please try and consider writing the benchmark, or at least copying the code and running it yourself.

Or you go the dummy way and use an IDE (such as Eclipse). In Eclipse you can create any archive (JAR, WAR, EAR) by exporting the project. Eclipse figures out which type of archive you are trying to create by the type of project (Java Standard Application - JAR, Java Web Application - WAR, Java Enterprise Application - EAR).
I don't agree with you on this. Using an IDE (especially for Java Developement) is no longer the dummy way, in fact its the smart way. Ask @javalove lol

When will people stop all these baseless comparisons. It pains me to say the same thing over and over and over again.

.NET came years after Java has come. So definitely you expect .NET to remedy some of the errors of Java. But still does that make it better? Tell me one thing you can do with .NET that I can not do with PASCAL. Yes it will take lots of work, but I will achieve it. Why do we still see ASP websites when we have asp.NET?

Look dude, it's never the programming language man. It's the programmer. For Zeus sake, people develop mobile apps with PASCAL.

Go get a life man, trolling ain't it.

BTW: most of your points are true 5 years ago, not today. Please check online, your same source of information. With JIT, Java is now even faster than C. Yes do your research.

And don't confuse my name with a SUN fan boy, I program in any language I like, right now if u ask me, erlang rules!!!
