Please which English test is the easier to get a ‘superior’ score in this Australia Journey? I wrote IELTS before but I didn’t quite get the score I needed.
I've written both IELTS and PTE Academic.
My first IELTS attempt was L8.5 R8 W8 S7. I then wrote PTE and got L90 R86 W90 S69
I then applied for IELTS speaking retake and got 8.
My opinion, PTE is more computerised sort of. There are hacks to it, especially the speaking section and it might be easier to get superior. I preferred the IELTS speaking to PTE cos I get to speak to a human examiner, physically or virtually. I'm more composed than when it's just with the PTE computer.

Check YouTube videos on PTE hacks and master it well. You'll definitely achieve it..
What was your IELTS score?

Hello

a quick question, please.

If I get a positive assessment with EA, I use it to get my 189 visa approved. does it mean when I get to Aussie, I can only work around the engineering field? is it possible I switch to the IT field when I get there?

Not a must. You can venture into anything legal to make an income

Please, what do you mean by skill retake for a section he scored low? Can one do IELTS for selected modules now? Please, clarify. Thanks

If you desire a better score, you are allowed to retake only one section of your ielts within 60 days of the initial test. It's called One Skill Retake and it's usually beneficial for people that have results like 6,6,6,5 or 7,7,7.5,6 or 8.5,8,8,7. If you're in this kind of situation, you can Retake only the section where you had a lower score so that you can level up with the other sections to achieve competent, proficient or superior.

Hello everyone,
I am considering applying for Sub class 189 visa. I am an Electrical Engineering graduate and i kindly request for answers to the following questions, please:
1. Is it advisable for me to go for the Electrical Engineering Technician MSA under TRA.

I'll leave that to @tunlex01

2. Will my student's copy of transcript be accepted.

Yes it should. If it wont be acceptable, you can replicate what i did in my case, I had my school send my transcripts to my office so i picked it from there and used

3. I scored 8, 8, 8, 7.5 (overall 8.0) in my ielts. how many points will that fetch me?
10 points. I'll suggest you do one skill retake for the section you had 7.5, and try to get 8. That moves you to 20 points

Thank you

What's the minimum needed band?
Australia doesn't work with band. they use the score on each section
at least 6 across each of the 4 sections (competent-0 points), 50 for PTE academic
at least 7 across each of the 4 sections (proficient-10pts), 65 for PTE
at least 8 across each of the 4 sections (superior-20pts), 79 for PTE.

Good evening everyone.
Is there any social worker here who has gone through the AASW skill assessment process who can share their experience on how it works?
I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from University of Ilorin, and I'm in the middle of my masters programme in Social Work, in Hungary. I wrote an academic IELTS with an overall score of 7.5, however, I had 6.5 in writing.
I currently have 4+ years of social work experience and I'd be happy if anyone can advise me on the subclass route I should explore.
Cc: tunlex01 bellong

I'll leave the skill assessment part to the seniors. My comment will be on the IELTS. You'd have to write another IELTS (General) or PTE (Academic).

sad

Nigerians have a good opportunity now to get extra 5 points, with Naati tests available for igbo and yoruba.
But what happens when everyone does it? grin

Back to square one, with increased competition.

Perhaps there might be another efficient system of grading

That's why it's always good to check the information sheet.
224712 may be your best option.

The deduction is bacause your first degree was not management related.
Thank you for the clarification.

Check that you meet ALL the requirements of a Management Consultant as stated by vetassess in their information sheet
https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/management-consultant

Do you work for a consulting organisation and are you independent?
You can add your Masters, it will help reduce the years of experience to be deducted from 2 to 1.
Thanks for the . I gave it a good read. I'm actually more of an internal consultant to the company in employed in, and I saw the criteria that must be achieved for that nature of work. I think a better fit will be Organisation and Methods Analyst (224712). I went through the requirements and it's in closer alignment with what I do, but it will limit me to 190 or 491. Can't do 189 for organisation and methods analyst.

Please, I need more clarification on this. Why will my years of experience be deducted? Will it not affect my points aggregation?

Glad to make my first post here.

I read the first 60 pages of the thread and I must it I learnt so much on how to process this PR visa oneself. Moved to page 100 and also read a few pages, did same for 200&300, then I continued from 380 to see the recent trends. I'll recommend this strategy for any one that's new here and truly wants to get this done. You can do this under 3 weeks.

Here is my profile. Please help confirm that the points are correct based on recent activities.

Age: 25-32 (30pts)
English: Prepping for IELTS soon and aiming for superior (20pts) or proficient (10pts)
Work experience: 4yrs+ (5pts), considering waiting till mid next year before assessing to achieve 5yrs (10pts)
Qualification: B.Tech Biochemistry from Federal University of Technology Akure. It's a 5 year course (15pts). Please help confirm that it will be assessed as equivalent of an Australian bachelor's degree.
Visa subclass: open to 189 (preferred), 190&491 too.
Marital status: Married.

Simulation:
If I max the points from each requirement (excluding points from state nomination), I can have 75 points, or 65 if I can't max the IELTS.

Proposed job title to be assessed: Management Consultant (ANZSCO code 224711).

My job titles for the last 4+ years have ranged from Planning analyst, business analyst and information analyst (Same department), and my daily activities match the tasks on abs.gov.au

My concern lies with my course of study (Biochemistry) and what I do. I have an MBA (2023) but I don't know if it will put me in a better position for the assessment with VETASSESS. I'll appreciate your opinions and advise on this.
