This is for scanning your car to detect faults na. Wetin concern am with saving fuel? Nawao.

It’s not a scanner, I got it as well, but from Temu though, the seller claimed It’s a fuel saver, once plugged on the mouth that they normally plug OBD scanner, I did as advised, but it doesn’t work, it doesn’t in anyway save fuel.

Dont mind that one that posted that mpg...maybe he bought the car direct tokunbo, not nigerian used.

Boss, I know he must have bought direct Belgium, which I’m planning to buy next. But why Is my mpg so extremely low compared to his It’s same car, same year, same engine, same gear box, same plugs etc, the list Is just so endless. But, I just can’t seem to in anyway comprehend, what the problem might be. I’m really so devastated.

Check to see if the O2 sensor in the vehicle gets hot. If yes then it still works a bit but if not then it's bad.

Washing with choke cleaner has no effect. When it's bad it's bad and you have to change it. Check your plugs that they are very okay. Remove your battery terminal for about 5 minutes while pressing down your brake pedal and put it back

I use same vehicle

Wow, whooping 25 mpg

I dey suffer 😭😭😭

Nigeria used vehicle grin

Well, I'm not surprised

That was the major reason the owner sold it off to another unsuspecting innocent Nigerian.

12M is on the high side actually for a Nigeria used, you should have bought it around 8.5M

I'm very sure that vehicle history would be very ugly.

This is exactly what a mechanic told me, he said it is the reason the car was sold.

G boy, money miss road.i will buy the car for 1m. Engine has overheated, engine has been opened, and car is endless moneypit.1m is on the table.go and buy thinner of 1000 naira,1000 naira worth of thinner is about 35cl,like small maltina plastic size. Pour it into your fuel tank, buy fuel of 30k,take the car to express, and do Italian tune up. That is,u go dey match 130kph for at least 30mins,no braking,no stopping....do it and give .make sure u down the 30k fuel till reserve light comes on. It would expell all carbon on your plugs,02 sensors, exhaust, catalysts. I've done it for about 5 diff people and till tmrw, they still regard me.

Thank you I will do exactly as you've said, please where can I buy the thinner?? Please am anxiously waiting for your response. Please

You bought a flooded vehicle.

the floods in Nigeria last year and the damage they did to vehicles?

Well, most of those cars have been "worked on" and are now in the market as beautiful brides.

Always use a "powerful scanner" before buying any car, much more 9ja used.

Sorry for your travails.

At best, that car you bought 12m was 8.5

I haven't bought my scanned at the time that I bought this car, I would have gone with it to scan it, I saw that it was keyless and I was so anxious to get it, it's such a pity that my desperation landed me in such tragedy.

I will sell for 10m but I won't sell for 8.5, the car exterior is still new.

Quite sad, I know how you feel, I have seen some stranger cry at a car stand and begging for refund even if not full refund, this was a bad honda civic.
Two codes could give you this pocket draining issue, the MAF and manifold code, I am leaning towards the MAF code though. Check the connectors/pins of your MAF sensor, also have an electrician check the wiring, try with a known to be working MAF sensor from another vehicle.
If the above fails, move on to the intake manifold sensor, check the wiring too, if that is fine, then you may need to replace the intake manifold, as a bad intake manifold could give you the MAF code.
If all else is fine with this vehicle, then surely this can be fixed, easier if it's the MAF, a little expensive if it's the intake manifold, I don't think car dealers here do refunds, they're mostly crooks and often have the backing of local law enforcement, you know how it goes.
Next time, do not skip the proper inspection process, mpg is what you see on the dashboard, how did you miss that? Good luck and do update the thread so people learn a thing or more about such issues.

Thank you so very much sir, I will do exactly as you've said, does the 2012 camry uses same maf sensor as a 2009 camry? I will try it right away as soon as I hear from you if they're the same sensor, thank you so very much sir, am anxiously waiting for your response.

It's going down more.

I don't think the tank is leaking, there would have been fuel on the exact place I parked the car.

Don’t use Camry ,you guys won’t hear word. No matter what you change in the car, that’s how the car was designed to function except you want to alter its functionality.

Sell off and get a fuel efficient car.🚘

I have used 2012 corolla in the past, it's not a fuel guzzler like my present car, it normally goes 100km for 17 liter of fuel. I wanted to upgrade, I sold it and bought a camry, I rode the camry for 4 months, before deciding to upgrade again, which I got this Camry.

the dealer or company and discuss the issues, if they can refund or give you another one. Also, hope you haven't been buying your fuel from the same station?

Lol....it is expected?? .he may still have a chance to return it?? ........this is funny.....be like na abroad u dey speak from.....

Engine dey work, gear dey work, electrical dey work, AC dey work, alternator dey ok...catalyst dey dia...
...in a Nigerian car dealers dictionary ...that's the definition of a 100% okay Nigerian used car.... If he see refund, make I bend

Everything you made mentioned here are all working and intact, except the catalyst, which I bought separately as It wasn't intact when I got the car,I was advise by a mechanic to buy catalyst, I sent him the money he bought and inserted It, both on the front bonnet and on the bottom of the car.

.That's alot of money to be having such issues!

However, speak to a legit mechanic and see if it's your temperature sensor that's causing you this issue however since it's Nigerian used it's expected that the first owner should have dealt with this problem.

Please reach out to your car dealer abeggg
12m naira car dey give wahala like dis? Haba

After reading your text,I have removed the temperature sensor on my older camry and I inserted it on this newer camry, I scanned again but I still got all the codes that I got earlier, and right now I'm testing the fuel consumption, to see if there would be in anyway, any difference.

You still have a chance to return it. Please call the owner and discuss first! That maybe the reason they sold it to you and that's selling a lemon car; it's illegal especially if they sold at normal market rate

I got it Nigerian used for 12m, It's been almost two weeks since I got It, Is it still in anyway possible that I would be able to get my money back? Even if it's 11, I would really be glad, I'm just so devastated.

I have changed plugs, air filter, all 4 coils, catalyst converter, check for leaks and none was found, clean the throttle body, cleaned the maf sensor and 02 Sensor with choke cleaner. I have done literally almost everything that needs to be done but no changes yet, It's a 2012 camry '4 plugs'

That was how one was telling me she was with me when I was living in a self contained apartment. The way I washed her d0wn eh, she never tried that rubbish with me again.

This was a lady that was homeless, pulling up with friends, was working a 10k naira monthly salary job, dating a market errand boy when I met her.

Me on the other hand had finished all my suffering. I had been working with number 1 oil company in the world for 6 months earning more than a university professor then, have travelled 2 times to Europe, I bought my first car same month I met her. The so called self contained was a first class apartment.

I'm speechless, just imagine the audacity.

With the change of ownership and receipt/purchase agreement, go to the licensing office of your choice and do a proper change of ownership (your vehicle will be in your name and details with new number plate given to you which will have proof of ownership in your name and details, vehicle license and other documents in your name). You can @ ospreywin here on Nairaland, he will help you out. 100% legit

I have already applied for plate number, in which the person that did it for me, told me it'd be ready in 7 working day's.

Over here, the police normally ask for purchase purchase receipt, change of ownership, purchase agreement and the previous owner change of ownership. Now, the change of ownership paper I did on the day I purchased the car, which the police normally ask for all the time, carries the old plate number. That's why I'm scared, but I'm thinking of going to where I bought the car and requested for another change of ownership, with my new plate number written on it. Sir, Is this appropriate? Or should I use correcting fluid to correct It and then make a photo copy, and Include It on my papers, I'm really so confused.
Iceking1(m): 2:24pm On May 30
Control7:
Do change of ownership, you will have a new number plate with your name and details, at that point you don't have anything to do with the old number plate that carries the old owner name.

Your car documents should be proof of ownership, vehicle license, road worthiness, insurance, cmr. All bearing your name and details. Police doesn't have any business with your receipt. Give them the papers above (photocopy ooo), tell them before you were issued car papers you submitted your car receipt.

You don't need to attach receipt or agreement papers or proof of ownership paper, just make copies and keep inside your vehicle.

Thank you so very much sir, I greatly appreciate. Sir, the change of ownership I did on the day I bought the car, the old plate number was written on It, how do I go about this, what do you advice for me to do, police would definitely use it as a yardstick to carry my car to the station and extort me heavily.

I believe the car has a plate number already. They won't give you another plate number. Except you want a special/ customised plate number.... The only thing you can get is change of ownership and prove of ownership... Besides, why are you trying to change the plate number? From the little I know, you can't a car twice..... If it were to be in Abuja, VIO will call you to come pick it up, by the time you get there, police will be waiting for you to hear why you're trying to a car that has been ed before . A plate number is ed to a car, plate number does not change but ownership change except you need a special/ customised plate number

Boss, It's possible to a car twice, when my bro bought his car, the seller removed his plate number and he had to another plate number, an entirely different plate number, different from the former that was removed by the seller.
