I priced a portable solar phone charger today and we agreed on #3000 but I was skeptical so I want to ask if anyone has a firsthand experience using it. I saw 7.5 watt, 3.5v written on it. Please nairalanders, can it really charge an android phone?

That 7.5watts u see is the maximum power under optimal weather condition. You will only get the full output power when there is good weather, that is if the cells is a good cell to start with, you will normally get 10% of 7.5watts in cloudy weather or you can say the weather condition around 8am. Using that kind of device to charge your android phone will definitely damage the battery.
I have one I made myself for the market, I used 12watts and it has been working very fine. I have been using it for over a year and there is no issue with my phone or any of my neighbour's phone that I use the to charge.

You are misquoting me. The charge controller inbuilt in those inverters are usually small, I don't know of that product you posted, don't be surprised if that product has a very small inbuilt PWM charge controller..

Please I am trying to Solar system. I currently have a 1.5kva transformer inverter (see pix below), and was told I will need Charger controller, solar s etc.

I also came across Luminous solar inverter (picture attached). So, I want to know if I should just buy this solar inverter or buy charger controller for my current transformer inverter. Which is better option irrespective of cost implication please.

PS: Batteries are Luminous 200AH 12V

One thing you should know is that Solar system is expensive initially and very cheap(it's cheaper than using gasoline generator) in the long run.
Your energy demands are not high, with N330k you can own a solar system comprising of 500watts solar , one 200ah battery( I used Ritar on any installation), 900va et all.. check my signature to my ..

Someone scammed me sometimes last year, he told me he had used batteries for sale at cheap prices, paid him on a Friday cause he promised to deliver the battery by Saturday if I paid that day. Called him on Saturday and oga started saying stories, waited till on Sunday and oga still wasnt responding. I followed him up, I reported his bank and I made sure it was flagged down for fraud.
Long story short, an Alfa of the scammer later paid on the scammers behalf. The scammer was a northern Muslim guy!

Well one 900va pure inverter and one 200ah battery would be sufficient.
