It's not even a choice to make. Just think how many years it will take you to earn that salary in the civil service.
After struggling to get a job with my state Government all in the name of getting experience, I abandoned it and took an internship with an iNGO in 2015. They paid me 100k every month. It doesn't sound much but for an intern? Then imagine how much they pay full staff. Finally think about the real life skills and experience you'll gain from the job, which you can use to apply for even better jobs in the future.
Multinational job all day
wow which NGO is that and how did you go about it sire. I'd love to work with one someday

TONYE001:
Hello, good morning.
1. The best advice I'd give to this person (a graduate of MCB/BCH or related courses) is to pursue his dream. But you know something about this dream stuff we talk about, we have to be practical and not just motivational. Thankfully, the life sciences have better options (industrial, pharmaceutical, food, environmental, etc). BUT if this person's original aim was to be a doctor (or to work ANYWHERE in the health sector), I'd advise him/her to cross over. Truthfully, this is the only way. Well, further studies (postgrad) could earn him a lecturing job but we don't know the future of lecturers without MBBS (or its equivalent) in the College.
2. The MPH/MSH route is another beautiful option. Very, very lucrative, I tell you. There are NGO's everywhere. He or she should start off as a volunteer in any NGO of his interest so that he'd build a good experience. By the time he finishes his program, he would have gotten some decent experience in the field.
3. About my wife, yes, her certificate opened some good opportunities. She's currently working in an NGO. But you know the Nigerian situation, to find work e hard.
Regards.
I'm currently studying public health science at bsc level..what advice can you give me Sir and can I go for MPH directly or its only meant for MBBS graduate

'For'eign 'Ex'change (Forex) is a global market that helps you buy and sell currency, you earn by buying a currency when it's low and selling it when it's high.
The rationale behind earning in forex trading is this, assuming you traveled in from the united states to nigeria upon you arrival you have $2000 which would be what you'll use for your expenditure for all the time you spend in nigeria, and you'll have to change that amount into naira for you to make use of it so you went to the exchange booth at the airport and exchanged the $2000 you have to naira at the exchange rate of $1=350 (It's just an example if you want to fund your right now in forex it's $1=445).
After the exchange the cashier would give you 700,000naira ($2000 x 350).
Now after you've visited your family, friends and aquintance bla bla bla you had a change of 400,000naira remianing out of the 700,000 you got upon your arrival after your exchange of the $2k you came with...hope you're getting me?
Now you want to go back to America and with that change of 400k you have having spent 300k in nigeria (700k that is your initial money - 400k change = 300k spent) you headed to the exchange booth at the airport before your departure and then you found out that the naira has appreciated and is now $1=200naira so you gave the cashier your change of 400k and with the current exchange rate gives you back $2000 (400,000/200).
Hope you recall that's you came into nigeria with $2000 and then after an expenditure of 300k you are given back your same amount.
So in forex, you earn by buying a currency when it's low (depreciated) and selling it when it's high (appreciate).
But, it's not that easy as i said o, it involves alot of technical analysis and so on but i'll advise you learn binary option it's a kind of forex trading too, i can teach you that in few day and still mentor you till you earn big from it.
You can check my signature.
mehn love this explanation☺☺

It is good that you are keeping your options open. As a Biochemist, you can work at NGOs, hospitals or an Oil and Gas company. However, since you are already researching WASH and M&E roles, I would advise that you take a course from edX or Coursera and become certified in any one of those to make you eligible for a job at an NGO.
You should also write to at least 12 NGOs in your locality, offering your services as a volunteer. The truth is most NGO workers got their permanent roles after being volunteers. So, as a volunteer for at least 3 months, you stand a better chance to land a great job.
Cheers.
I'm a public health science undergraduate and would love to work with one someday
