Ndkings1: I am not sure I can everything cos it's been a whole year now. But I tried to apply ieltsliz's tips. My introduction was to paraphrase the topic and then I added a sentence that hinted about my view e.g "I tend to agree with this statement". I then added 2 or 3 paragraph explaining why I agreed with the statement in the topic. In each paragraph, I stated a new reason/point and I gave an example to the point stated. My conclusion was to reinforce that I agree based on the reasons I have stated in the paragraphs. Beyond the structure of the essay, you should pay attention to your spellings, punctuation, tenses, vocabulary, word count etc. Personally, I am a big fan of KISS (keep it short and simple). Use simple English, no need for big-big grammar especially if you are not completely certain about the literal and contextual meaning of a word. Plus pray and believe for the best. I hope these tips help. 24 Likes 3 Shares |

ayusco85: Yes o! Very doable. My result was L 8.5, R 9, S 8 W7.5. first and only attempt. I had just 2 weeks to prepare for the exam and I prepped with ieltsliz only. I think my years of monotonous drafting/reviewing hundreds of pages of documents/agreements daily finally counted for something other than my salary. I am tempted to agree that it's like Nigerian ielts examiners deliberately mark Writing down (i.e 6.5) as many people on this forum also feel. Perhaps so that they can make more money from people re-writing. In my ielts application, I indicated that I was writing for Australian immigration purposes. I needed all-round 8 to max out language score under Australian system. Alas! I got 7.5. Missing that elusive 0.5. I was disheartened when I saw my ielts result, until someone encouraged me to explore Canada. Moral of this epistle, over-achievable de worry am sef! 34 Likes 2 Shares |

JonJon2017: Then your CSE should show that it has been replenished. You should raise the CSE as soon as possible before your application gets canceled. |

Itsawonder: I believe my questions were very clear, at least clear enough to show that whether she could claim that NOC was not an issue. My questions were (a) whether she is likely to be prejudiced if her reference letter is signed by her mom, and (b) how best to handle her not being paid a salary. Besides, you will have fewer "face-plants" here if you tone down ur assuming and derogatory attitude. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Itsawonder: That criteria is a criteria for you to secure a job in that NOC IN CANADA. My friend, as of now, has no intention to be a teacher in Canada. She wants to further her education as PR. 1 Like 1 Share |

Itsawonder: Judge much? I never said she didn't check NOC. I said "I" couldn't the NOC. Thanks anyway. 2 Likes |

Itsawonder: Thanks, but I think that it's been established here that your job experience doesn't necessarily have to relate to what you studied. By the way, the NOC in question is 4214- Early childhood educators and assistants. The lead statement matches her work experience. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Godisincontrol: She doesn't collect monthly salary like other teachers in the school. However, her ielts for example, was paid for by her parents. Likewise her ECA. If she needs money for something, she can ask her parents and they give her what they can. Another example is her POF. |

nnamdiokere45: Understood. But in this case, the boss is her mother. What to do? |

Hello house, your advise is really needed for a friend. She is a primary school teacher and has been since 2014. Only thing is, the school is owned by her mom. Her teaching started out with her helping her mom after she graduated from uni. It was supposed to be something to keep her busy pending when she gets a "good" job. Good job still hasn't come. She was never really paid salary cos she still lives with her parents and they take care of her financial needs when necessary. She has a BSC and masters degree but non of the fields are related to teaching. She has taught in her moms school for over 3 years and wants to claim experience as elementary school teacher (can't the NOC exactly). Her POF will be 100% gift from her mom. The question is what is the best way to prove her work experience considering that she has never collected a salary. Will it prejudice her if her mother (as the owner of the school) signs her reference letter? You candid recommendations are welcome. |

Biko, LVO graduands, at what stage do files get transferred to VOs (London, Accra, Ottawa, Sydney etc.)? Is it Ip1 or Ip2? My "small" research is appearing to suggest that all files are transferred to ottawa during IP1. If this is true, at what stage do some go to LVO for example? Newmum0615: |
