politician, well done. There's only one sad truth that negates all your points though: the APC led government has only succeeded in increasing minimum wage while reducing real wage over the course of their 9 years in office. The government is made up of smart persons who've mastered the art of giving with the left while collecting with the right. Nigerians must learn to be patriotic: put the interests of the nation above personal gains. How are the major policies (subsidy removal/fuel price increase, VAT increase, interest rate increase, etc.) helping the nation as an entity? What are the leaders PLANS of bettering the living conditions in Nigeria? How have they improved security? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Exclusive101: Are you guys serious? Can't you hold a discussion without publicly displaying tribalistic sentiments? BTW, both the attacker and the attacked are 'tribesmen'. That said, government must assume its responsibility of safeguarding the interests of its citizens. If Dangote's products aren't good enough, measures should be put in place to ensure they improve. I the idea of ensuring Dangote has quality and healthy competition. 1 Like |

Wow! So youths who put their lives and resources on the line to protest against police brutality and government's lack of sensitivity to the plights Nigerian citizens are now been referred to as BANDITS! How convenient!!! The good news is that the hardship that was actively instigated by the APC govt. knows no party, tribe or religion... It's only a matter of time before the average Nigerian realises that there only 2 tribes in Nigeria: the ELITE & the MASSES! The masses MUST unite and fight for their rights because only the elites stand to benefit from our division! We're honest and hardworking NIGERIANS and we deserve to enjoy the basic necessities of life in NIGERIA!!! |

The fact that we're yet to embark on a full-blown nation-wide protest, despite the unbearable conditions we're living in, is a pointer to a major problem: we're not politically HEALTHY as a nation!

The government can either approve a living wage of #250,000.00 or take the economy to how it was when 30k minimum wage was introduced.

Thank God for Dangote importing raw materials from US. Meanwhile, in 9 years the APC-led Govt. has successfully incured monumental debts, sold of FUTURE (yet to be explored) crude oil, introduced new taxes while simultaneously increasing existing tax rates. That's not all, in almost 1 decade of this government, insecurity has increased, inflation rate has shot up, electricity production has reduced, etc. This prompts patriotic Nigerians to ask: does APC have any viable plan of improving Nigeria? |

You can't even pretend to be objective! Of all the ills plaguing Nigerians in this regime, you've never criticised the government in power, na Peter Obi be your problem.

NLC has long lost its credibility! It's high time we moved on from increasing minimum wage to addressing issues that are making wages useless! Why remove subsidy when the loopholes could have been plugged? Why not reduce cost of production 1st? Why are we not refining our own products? The money saved from subsidy removal, where has it been invested? How has it made life easier for the common man? These are issues our labour leaders should prioritise. Increasing mininum wage would just give momentary relief because the economy will still adjust through inflation unless the pressing issues are addressed. But NLC won't ply that route because of selfish political and economic gains! |

The major problem of Nigeria is a lack of patriotism. The average Nigerian is inherently selfish and greedy. Until we ALL Understand that NIGERIA's welfare is more important than our individual interest, our politicians will keep pillaging our resources while we struggle to survive. Our current situation is like the frog placed in a pot of water and placed on fire! We MUST find our way out b4 our hands get tied! 1 Like |

davies: I'm not a fan of boarding schools. If you have kids, especially hyper active ones, you'll understand how difficult it is monitoring kids. The house master's job is worse because of the number of students they oversee. So the school deleg8's authority 2 house prefects who might abuse d position. That aside, it's not possible to monitor STUDENT'S 247. That's why i'll always onish parents to patronise day schools if they can spare the time. No one can value and care for your child the way you could. |

Politicians should reduce their bogus allowances and bonuses by 70%, invest the savings in agriculture so as to reduce the rate of inflation especially for foodstuff. Investment is the actual sustainable solution, not increase in minimum wage. But we know the ogas at the top will rather find more ways to pillage the already comatose treasury than reduce their largesse.

The change of national anthem and any other issues arising from it are calculated attempts at distracting people from more pressing issues- the economy has collapsed: no economist or business can plan or make forecasts in these circumstances. Government should first of all profer solutions to the hunger and lack plaguing the land before thinking of fancy changes of anthem. And when that time comes, NIGERIANS are able to come up with something new, fresh and creative.
