There must some Nigerians in Qatar that does money transfer business, he will give them qatari riyal and they will credit his naira , tell him to ask around. Regarding the rate, it's almost same as dirhams which is 159 to 160 as at today.

If I may ask... was it a government company that hired him? Because I knew someone who got job in the hospitality industry in Qatar and the company couldn't process his visa.
