Inflation is going down.
Productivity is going up.
Petrol supply issues are in the back mirror.

I use to think why didn't Shonekan retire Abacha and his henchmen in those three months before Abacha striked? He's he part of the grand scheme or just clueless?

The military never left, Shonekan was basically their captive. I doubt if he could have done that without it leaking which would have made his exit much faster.
Babangida was indeed an evil genius.

Igbos taunting Northerners was one of the stories they used in turning the coup into 'Igbo coup'. In reality, it never happened

It actually happened. This is why I disagree with some of you. Trying so hard to rewrite the history of something which happened not so long ago. There are millions of Nigerians living right now and able to give you their first hand experience of what happened.
It is futile and laughable to try and distort what is known to millions.

Ademoyega, Awolowo, Gbulie and lately Babangida have already revealed that the major beneficiary of that coup was Awolowo.

To this end, all of Awolowo's political opponents were massacred. Awolowo, who was a sitting duck in jail was spared.

What am I doing with the gossips of military wives?

The two highest ranking military people associated with that coup were Yorubas namely Fajuyi and Banjo. They outranked the foot soldiers that carried out Awolowo's coup.

Fajuyi trained all the coupists, so they obviously carried out Fajuyi's orders on the D - day

I feel your anguish. Facts are unfortunately too stubborn. Generations unborn will know what ibo officers did in January 1966. How they went 🗡 daggers in hand in the middle of the night to murder people in their beds.

The fact that the January 1966 coup is the only coup being discussed today out of 8 coups that happened in Nigeria, because Igbos were involved, should be a great indicator to all Igbos that Nigeria is not their future country

Babangida wrote a book that spanned a period of four decades, and several important events. But the only discussion for most people is one particular day, January 15th 1966

To my fellow Igbos, if this does not show that you don't belong to Nigeria, nothing will

The fact that only Ibos celebrated the coup by taunting Northerners is for me an eye opener as to where a lot of Ibos stood regarding the coup.
I wish Babangida could have elaborated on this because the taunting was so biting that it led to the second coup and progrom against Ibos in the North.

Nigerians knew the coup was coming even before it was carried out. He retired everyone and left Abacha there!
Maradona wanted to score the last one with Nigerians but he missed. Not only that, the stadium is empty.

Beyond Subsidy Removal, we should be concerned with what brought us to the point we were unable to sustain the subsidy.

A man who suddenly is unable to drive his kids to school & asks them to trek, will soon reduce their meals from 3 square meals to 2, if he doesn't tackle the root cause of his inability to continue driving the kids to school.

What brought you there is the absolute reliance on oil revenue and neglect of other productive sectors of the economy.

Excellent. Trump is very smart. Instead of itting unproductive and criminal immigrants, it's better to sell the slots to wealthy and productive individuals who will in turn make America great again.

So, some rich people are not unproductive and criminal? Immigrants are actually some of the hardest working and productive people.

Yoruba is known to be a betrayal

Yes, that is why Olusola Azikiwe heard about the coup and didn't warn his Prime Minister that a bloody coup was coming.
He conveniently ran away and let his friends die. What betrayal is more than this? These Yoruba people sef.
Should we talk about the relationship between the Sardauna and Nzeogwu? Did you say betrayal?

Really?.
Who are:

1. Major Adewale Ademoyega
2. Capt. G. Adeleke
3. Lt. Fola Oyewole
4. Lt. R. Egbiko
5. Lt. Tijani Katsina
6. Lt. O. Olafemiyan
7. Capt. Gibson Jalo
8. Capt. Swanton
9. Lt. Hope Harris Eghagha
10. Lt. Dag Warribor
11. 2nd Lt. Saleh Dambo
12. 2nd Lt. John Atom Kpera

Are they Igbo as well?.

There were five leaders of the coup, four Ibos and one Yoruba. How you can successfully change this fact is something I would like to see.
Your list didn't even mention the mastermind, Major Ifaejuna.

What exactly is an Ibo coup?
Did all Ibos conspire to carry out a coup? No
Did Ibo officers carry out the coup? YESSSSSSSS!
Was it an Ibo coup? Yes, at least it became an Ibo coup the moment some Ibo started celebrating and taunting Northerners about it. Babangida alluded to this, saying it later took an ethnic coloration.
They basically owned it.

Much respect for this man, I'm so ashamed of the current American leadership, we need a very patriotic leader like zelensky in Nigeria, he's a hero to his people while some clowns in Nigeria keep calling him a comedian

Why is DT not calling for elections in Israel, instead he's supplying them with more weapons to commit murder

He is a true hero. David standing up to Goliath.

You're the dull obe if you cannot get my drift.

If he was indicted for coup plotting, it goes to show that he has the propensity to plan another one.

The 1966 January coup was supposed to free him and make him the president . All the people that were killed were actually Awolowo's enemies

Like Ahmadu Bello who had an interview warning other Nigerians about Ibos?

Nothing concern IBB book here.

Just stating the fact and truth.

Fajuyi was killed together with Ironsi by northern soldiers, But Yorubas changed the narrative.

I don't know if they're afraid of north or something.

Changed what narrative as how? The Ibo coup of January 1966 is not the same as the July 1966 by Northerners.

At all, at all...Shonekan was recognized as head of state till he died

This is not about being recognized or not. It is about being able to consolidate power and avoid being toppled.

Danjuma should know the answer. I bet he knows who pulled the trigger.
May Fajuyi rest in peace, he died being loyal to his friend and boss.
Contrast that with people asking Abacha to hang Abiola.

I
The real issue with the 1966 coup is the relentless Yoruba attempt to rewrite history, branding it an "Igbo coup" despite clear records showing that 50% of the participants were Yoruba. Had the coup succeeded, we’d never hear the end of how the Yoruba played a crucial role in toppling the First Republic’s government.

You are a blatant liar. 90% of the plotters were Ibo. There were five Majors only one of them was Yoruba.
If it wasn't an Ibo coup what prompted Ibos in the North to start taunting the Northerners?
Some Ibos certainly believed at some point that the coup was theirs hence the taunting.

It is a spiritual phenomenon.Yorubas will always have emphaty for the Igbos, help them and participate in whatever venture Igbos indulge in I mean like 1/3 of Yorubas always have that brotherly love and "I want to assist and them" spirit towards the Igbos.

In the history of Nigeria,we have seen this up t[sup][/sup]I'll date.Have read the history of Nigeria and concluded that it is a kind of shared destiny.
Yorubas always acting the senior brother.
Biafra war,we have Banjo,Wole Soyinka,Sam Aluko,Fajuyi etc ticking out their necks for the Igbos

Obasanjo,Adebanjo,Farotimi and a host of millions of Yorubas having soft spot for the Igbos.
The funny thing is,most Igbos are always against Yoruba.
I think it is mostly an envy thing because Yoruba have always had the upper hand in most affairs.
They have always been the superior almost in everything.I think they should work together for their combined progress.

I never thought about this until the internet made it clear to me.
It is not just a few riff raffs talking nonsense on the internet, a lot of their educated people sadly have this same mindset.
The few I knew personally were good people. But who knows what they had in their minds.

From interim, he can sack Abacha and consolidate his power. Shonekan was a weakling

This could have worked if Abiola had the military behind him. The military as personified by folks like Abacha and IBB were against him.
