She can do it, it's acceptable
I doubt she can do adult nursing in the UK though. The course is for graduates from non health related background. She should do a one year top up program or other health specialization courses. [/quote]

You are a very interesting person. I’ve been reading your comments, and I initially thought to hold my tongue (abi fingers), but you’ve gone a bit too far.
It’s ok if you want to encourage people. Please do. But don’t stop others from sounding warnings to the person. Your own is to give your advice, then leave others to give theirs.
Btw, you’re right, nothing stops a student from being self employed. I was self employed in uni, but under an umbrella company. If a student wants to then be self employed on their own, that’s risky, however, I like experience being the best teacher. Just so you know, Your bank can call up anytime and ask for company papers and tax docs. Then you’re exposing yourself as a student to HMRC. But what do we know, you know us.
About paying 50% then coming to study in the UK. I had a friend who did this. He worked every damn day. He still couldn’t come up with the money to complete his fees which I ended up lending him a huge amount, then he paid back. What if your friend doesn’t have someone to lend them?
But please ignore us, we are the busy bodies that are discouraging others.
Student on PLACEMENT/INTERNSHIP year can work full time paid job during their placement.
my University sponsored students who couldn't find a PLACEMENT/INTERNSHIP place due to COVID19 company Lockdown ....or have a business proposal (optional) and finance them. Depend on ur Uni.
and u know what, this is an advantage for guys who still want to stay I UK after graduation(.......the rest is later)
nothing concerning HMRC about that.
they are even happy self because they take Tax from u.
Ofcourse they know most foreign students are in their country to make money and change to better life.
About not able to pay 50%
This COVID19 is a great advantage to International students.
the online studies help them to have more time to work.
some areas in UK have several jobs than others.
depends on where in UK.
Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds are cities that have many options. we change jobs anytime. take employer do shakara. believe it or not. Work Agencies chase u with phone to come work especially this COVID19 that many are Afraid to work in d cities.
I have seen guys that resumed last January and balance up b4 August and even raised money for family to the b4 2020 ends.
that's why I say its depend on how u can hussle.
To make it in life u need advice and guidance from experienced people.
many took a bold step and came to UK years back...without or little fund..thank God today they are ok.
please note my advice is mainly for postgraduate Prospective students not undergraduate.

UberEats.
Tier-4 student.
Delivery drivers who use personal cars for Über eats, Deliveroo are classified as Self-employed, No?
The UK Supreme Court judgment concerned Uber Taxi services not Uber eats No?
Tier-4 students are not allowed to be self-employed No?
To use your personal car for delivery services you are required to declare this for insurance purposes, No? This translates to higher No?
who told that tier4 student cant be self employed.
students on 2 year Master course with PLACEMENT year nko?
I know how many people University themselves don sponsor for self employed I dont want to mention.
Dont know why we black people are full of discouragement.
u will always look for a way to tackle and find fault not to appreciate a good idea.

justwise:
I wouldn’t encourage you to take this step because chances are that you will fail to pull through even with 50% school fees paid and this is why..
If your school fees is £10k for example and you paid £5K, the school will likely give you 3months to pay up the balance , so you have Sep to Dec to come up with that money.
Working 20hrs a week from Sep to Dec if you are lucky to get a job that quick will not give you £5K savings, even if the school gave you 4months to pay up and you are earning £10-11 per hour and saved every penny you earned without paying rent, bills, food and transportation.
To pay up that balance within 3-4 months you need to be earning at least £1500 monthly and live on a very tight budget.
If you can’t pay then financial documents you submitted during your visa application will be questioned
who told u these Grammar u are blowing that school gives 3 months to balance. are u even in UK?
to answer that question u most have similar experience or witness it.
dont discourage her.
let her achieve her dream.
u only need to balance the remaining 50% before season ends not 3months.
if u resume January u need to balance by August end b4 another season start by September.
una no go apply to better sch and city
Take a bold step my dear and pursue ur dream. even Nigerians abroad are full of discouragement and selfishness. u will understand when u re here.
be determined. and God help you

Hello guys,
Does this ruling against Uber mean students can now drive Uber since the drivers are to be considered employees rather than self employed?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56123668
Let ma tell u what its required of u to drive uber.
1) A good car at least £2000-£5000
2) u need to have FULL UK Driver license for at least one year.
Ok- now, how can u get a full UK DRIVER license:
For you to qualify to Apply for a UK-FULL Driver license:
*You need a UK- Provisional Driver License ( learners Permit).
(Dont ever think u can drive Uber with your Nigeria or International Driver license, which u can use to drive around if u buy a car -for one year In UK starting from the day u enter UK)
* Meanwhile, UK Provisional Driver Licence is a LEARNER Licence which valid for around 25years.
You cant drive alone with it. u need someone with FULL- UK Driver license to be by your side while driving according to the UK law. if u fail to comply with this, God forbid if accident happened ur Insurance would not cover u and ur Visa/Status can be revoked.
* After u secured the PROVISIONAL DRIVER LICENSE for
u need to book / Schedule a Driver test at: https://www.gov.uk/driving-test
(it has been suspended due to COVID19)
* After u ur driving test then u can apply for a FULL UK Driver license. dont think if u re a perfect/expert driver in Nigeria and that should give u boldness that will a UK Driver Test...Error!!! its advisable for u to book a driving training for at least 3 days or 5 days its around £100
for u to know the Driving codes and ethics it RIGHT HAND driving and their road is so small...
your question:
It's not easy for students or their Dependent to drive an Uber in UK. it could takes u up to 1.5 years or more.
Meanwhile u can do Uber Food delivery (JUST EAT) with car ( with ur international Driver Licence) or Bike or bicycle.
u can even get a car at £300-500 and start ur uber eat deliveries and make money like Uber/Taxi Driving.
as a foreign student and new driver car insurance can cost u around £150 per month. with either ur Professional Licence or International Driver license.
Cheers

Good Evening,
I was told i can apply to schools, pay part of the fees and work to pay for the balance.
How true is this? i am trying to apply for a masters...will i get a job that would be sufficient for me to pay for my fees and my upkeep?
Regards
my dear dont be discouraged!!!
1. ) Research the school. some schools Tuition are around £9000-11,000
I will advice u to follow the UK STUDENT TREAD ON NAIRALAND.COM for u to have more info on cheapest uni. https://nairaland.macsoftware.info/6331164/uk-student-visa-tier-4
2.) Make sure you have at least 50% ( £5000 around N3m) of ur tuition and pay. Some uni ask for £1,000 -£3,000 deposit. but just make sure u have at least 50% .
3) Put the tuition balance (that is, the remaining 50% around N3m) in your +plus ur MAINTENANCE fund ( (£9,135 about N4.5m =7.5m)
4) Print ur statement Statement at 28days and apply.
let me advice you.. to Search for Universities that have offices in Nigeria like:
SHEFFIELD HALLAM UNIVERSITY
LEED BECKETT UNIVERSITY
SUNDERLAND UNIVERSITY and many more .
them, attend their seminar and ask any questions.
u dont need an agent if u re a smart type...
To ur question:
ofcourse you can pay your balance while working as student if u re not lazy.
I hope this message change ur destiny for good. welcome to the UK darling.

Every now and again, I hear new stories about some men getting "betrayed" by a Nigerian spouse whom they've brought abroad.. however, I can't help but notice that they are often the cause of their own misfortune. As harsh as it sounds, some men have had to learn the hard way that ignorance and hero-complex will cost a man far more than he can ever bargain for..
Category 1: Those with a warped mindset of the " 'cultureless' akata"
My experience:
Let's go back to my uni days some years back.. the dating scene was wild, brutal and exciting.. back then, the disparity was huge between the "freshiees" and UK grown blacks (unlike today) .. but yet, I was opportuned to mix and mingle with so many young Nigerian guys who were in the UK as international students at the time.. some also young working professionals ( of which are still life-long friends of mine up till today)...
..whilst on the dating scene, I noticed that a lot of Nigerian guys seemed to have a mentality that "akata" girls were "too exposed" compared to Nigerian girls back home, so they played games with them, often ditching these girls to marry home-based chicks.. I having such a silly and childish dream of relocating to Nigeria back then . Hahha.. and thought I would end up with a "freshiie" who would 'take me back to the motherland'.. haha. though I ended up with someone with a migration story just like mine; we both moved to the UK as kids in the early 2000s.. and my husband is a male 'akata' to core ..with no intention whatsoever of moving back.
Truth be told, a lot of guys who had temporary flings with "akata" girls ended up moving back to Nigeria, and are still regretting their decision till today.. Many returned to find their girlfriends had moved on and married older men. Others attempted to bring their girlfriends here to find out they've been used as a mere stepping stone to "greener pastures".
Category 2: Those who used and dumped white women for papers and then brought their "ungrateful Nigerian wives" abroad.
Men who are desperate for papers often opt for the easy way out: marrying an older white woman (and in some cases a poor unsuspecting black woman from another African country who has papers) ... they do this with the mindset that they would bring their "real wife" from Nigeria.
Now when their 'wife' divorces them.. these men will scream betrayal, forgetting the trail of heartbreaks they've left behind.. Now how do such men think they will use a foreign woman, break her heart, and yet live happily ever after with an imported bride?? how??
In summary,
When I hear stories of bitter divorces and men killing their spouse whom they brought from Nigeria I can't help but think this could've been avoided if they focused on settling with a so called "akata". Yes, she may not feign fake 'submission' like home-based Nigerian chicks, but what makes her less likely to 'betray' or mess you up is the absence of entitlement mentality.
...someone coming directly from Nigeria typically has a dog eat dog mentality caused by an oppressive system of lack. Whereas an abroad based chick already learns not to depend on a man from as early as 16 - 17 years of age.. most already have part time jobs as students and know the value of working for their money.. they won't take crap but at least what you see is what you get.. abroad based girls (akatas) are not angels but are far better than the pretenders back home y'all believe are "wife materials".. but people generally hold on to an illusion over what is real.

dahmelawlah:
Good evening guys.
Please I need your help, I arrived UK this month on a tier 4 Visa for a course but I want to switch to a different course with a start date of February 2021. I have been told I can make the switch, but i am looking at the implications for my Visa. My Visa runs out February 2022 and the new course I am switching to has an end date of January 2022. 1) Will one month be enough time to apply for the post study Visa. 2) Will I still be eligible for the post study Visa given the switch cos I asked the immigration team of the school and the respondent said I might not be eligible for post study Visa if I switch.
below is his reply in details and as far as I know the only conditions for post study Visa is your course ending after Summer 2021
"As long as the new course is at the same academic level as the first course, and you can complete the course within the validity period of your current visa, then no implication for your visa.
However, if you will need more time to complete the new course you will have to return home and apply for a new visa.
Please note that if you change course you may not be eligible to apply for the graduate employment visa next year. This is based on current guidance form UKVI and may change"

Those parents that does this want to make sure u don't touch d money but until u re in School.
Some don't trust you wont use it for other purposes while u re here!
So they want to be sure u cant withdraw and spend it here, that why they put a lien. (Infact some managers advices customer sponsoring UNTRUSTED children to put a LIEN, thereby putting d client's mind at Rest)
For d money to be safe/peace of mind.
MEANWHILE BANK REMOVES D LIEN WHEN U ARE READY TO TRAVEL.... (AUTOMATICALLY OR ON REQUEST)
I never knew about a LIEN until I witness an elderly father's (argument) last year 2019 December that visited a Bank near the Muritala Muhammed Airport to remove d LIEN placed on his child few hours to his son's flight to study in Texas USA.
So it's not a crime or wickedness.
But for SAFETY Purposes.
Wish u all best of Luck in 2020.
It's not a bad idea though,
A guy tier4 Visa was refused in September 2019 because he spent/used part of the requred Maintenance fund send to him by his mother during the 28 days.
If d mother have restricted/lien his this wouldn't have happen.
