Plans are underway in Kano state, Nigeria to produce 150 MW of electricity from waste. This was announced by Capegate Investment Limited, a Nigerian-based company that specializes in Biotechnology and Waste management, approximately three months after it signed a 20-year public-private partnership with the Kano State Government and took over waste management in the state.

Speaking on the aforementioned plans, Bello Abba Yakasai, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) said that next year, they will generate 10 megawatts of electricity and in the next five years, depending on how the typology of waste changes, will yield to 150 megawatts for Kano and Jigawa.

According to the Capegate Investment COO, the plan to produce 150 MW of electricity from waste in Kano is a part of a larger plan where the company intends to establish three major industries.

“One of the industries is what we call a transfer station. This is where all the wastes including plastic, metals, and aluminium among others, will be sorted. The sorted out waste will be recycled or transformed into other products. High-density plastic (HDP) and tires would be converted into burnable oil, while low-density plastic would be converted into shopping bags, water bottles, and other relevant products.”

“The next phase is the diversification industry. In here we will be converting biodegradable waste to produce gas and create steel, which in turn, would be processed into turbines to produce electricity. Under this phase/industry, we hope to facilitate the generation of at least 10 megawatts of electricity before the end of next year (2022),” explained Mr. Yakasai.

In the third industry food waste and bio-waste would be turned into organic fertilizer, which is safer health-wise on crops and human consumption.

Kiekie1 has a full river 200ah available, its not 100%, no seller has a used battery that is 100% OK, batteries can be 50% OK depends on , most of the s are Nigerians , I tested the battery when I was there for a replacement, he tested the full river with a 400w load but it 30mins but the one I took dropped 40mins , he is willing to give at a very very good price, since he doesn't want to sell used batteries anymore , I would have taken it but I explained to him my wife was expecting so I am channeling the little I have on my unborn kid,, please if u can risk it, order for a battery pulse repair online and carry the battery, but make sur u have a small load, u can order for cheaper pulse repair battery charger from Jumia, just get patience, I will enjoy it, hope he is not reading this post and trying yo bring the battery back

I think it is same with regular ups is just d this one comes with 3 output ports apart from d surge. Regular ones have just 2.

I have gotten Fullriver 40ah, and APC UPS with Suoer smart charger.

But the APC UPS surge is USA not common Europe/Nigeria

Anyone will do the job including 100 or 200amp.The most important thing is to get an external charger that can charge each on respectively.

The higher the 'ah' the better which also tell on your pocket too.

40amp cost 18k before covid 19 era while 200amp cost btw 90 n 110k.

Battery market na black market but the best is to go to a company yourself with warranty mostly 200amp.That doesn't mean that any other source is a counterfeit.

What 40ah or 65ah good battery do you recommend or which one do you use and how to get one in Lagos?

Its very easy, there are different ways that u can entertain urself when u are at home.

All you need is Gotv and an LCD with a very low wattage or a PC monitor that has AV input ,a 650va UPS, a 12v 40ah fullriver valve regulated battery and a smart charger.

I bought my 40ah battery brand new at oshodi for 6k its equivalent to deep cycle batteries and I bought my 20amp smart battery charger at idioro mushin for 7k, with this u can stay connected to ur favorite programs on TV or watch movies on ur LCD via external hdd, if u already have an LCD TV, just check the watts ,if its above 100, then u need to get a 15inch monitor that has AV input II bought mine 5k at computer village, the smart charger charges the battery,the ups stands as the power, my 15inch monitor is 34watts while the blu ray player is just 16watts.

So......

When there is no electricity ,my 40ah battery can power my 15inch LCD and Gotv or blu ray player for full 9hrs.

Note: It only powers my Gotv, bluray and 15inch LCD, imagine if I have 2 of that battery nko? That means I will never miss my favorite programs.
