There are several software that you can use to merge workbooks but they usually cost about $10. Use the trial version I have linked below. It only works for a maximum of five spreadsheets. If it works, you can purchase it if you wish. If you don't like it, just type in "Merge Excel workbooks" into google and it will give you several software that can do it but they all cost about $10.00

Thanks ibime i tried the software but it only gathered all the sheets in to one workbook, which isn't what i need i need all the data from certain cells in about 1000 docs gathered in to a single work sheet.

I am sure i have linked about 3 excel files sometimes ago by just cross-referencing.

It can be done with no real programming.

I can solve your problem using c# or vb.net , but you need to answer the following ques;

1. Which DBMS engine are you using for the output?
2. Do you have all the excel files within the same folder
3. Are there other excel files aside from those that are your data source within the folder(s).

You need to write a small application that checks for all the excel files within a directory folder, opens and extracts each data in the same way from the excel files and then writes the information to the database table you created to have it written to.

Guys thanks for your replies, i'll just explain d problem a little further, i have thousands of excel files like the one attached, i need to extract the filled data from specific cells (B1 - B7 of each excel document) and use it in populating a database, but i have thousands of these files, so i can't manually copy and paste, so i need something, anything, code, software, application etc to help me do this.

You make it sound like the guardian was actually responsible for those vacancies/jobs. If they ceased to exist we'd probably be looking forward to a monday vanguard, or a wednesday punch or even a friday PM news. its got nothing to do with the guardian besides i think its some sort of a Paradox that a company which cannot sort out its differences with its staff is responsible for advertising vacancies.

i've read all ur comments on this ery controversial topic. i'll like to take a purely 'academic' or 'professional' point of view
i'm quite familiar with both the bible and the quran also i've my own personal beliefs but what i believe is irrelevant here.
having studied the two books i've come to this inevitable conclusions and as i am sure anybody who studies the subject objectively will

1.) Either the bible or the Quran or both are fake. Both are not true, the bible unequivocally claims only xtians will be in heaven and the Quran too says only muslims so at least one or both are fake
2.) True Christians and True muslims won't both be in heaven, one or both groups will be in hell. scary ain't it for the same reason above

So what then? as this is a very important matter, i mean this is eternity we're talking about,it is necessary for each one to find a way of determining or discovering d truth.
reading the posts here i find most of us believe we should just do our best and hope 4 d best, i find this unacceptable the stakes are too high for that.imagine u were going for an exam and the lecturer told u ahead that a certain question was coming out worth 70 marks i doubt any of us would be content to sit back and hope for the best u'll seek to be able to solve that question at all costs.
