One of the security operatives who nailed billionaire kidnapper, Onwumadike Chukwudumeme has lost his life in a successful operation in the Niger Delta region. Sergeant Lanre The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) under the watch of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (A), Abba Kyari at the weekend, lost one of its gallant officers to the cold hands of death. The gallant officer was one of the leading ‘field detectives’ who tracked and demystified Lagos based billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuadike aka Evans. It was in the middle of a similar arrest that the suspect pumped bullets into Lanre’s stomach while his colleague got shot in the hand. Unperturbed by the surprise attack, both the late Sergeant and others chased after the kidnappers and killed the man that fired the killer shots. The bullets lodged in their bodies were later extracted with medical teams on ground confirming that the injured Policemen were responding to treatment. But tragedy struck a few days later. It was discovered that Sergeant Lanre who had opened his eyes and exchanged pleasantries with his colleagues, gave up the ghost. “It is really sad and painful altogether. We have not been able to tell his wife and other family yet. This is the risk of the job we are talking about; we put our lives on line for others, yet when it is time for promotion, one thing or the other will happen and the list will be kept in view. “Look at this now, Sergeant Lanre was one of the men that put his life on the line to arrest Evans and now he is dead. We don’t even know how to break the news to his wife and family. It is painful,” one of his colleagues said at the weekend. The commander of IRT, A Kyari, is said to be in deep pain over Lanre’s death. A source close to his office that confirmed the tragic exit of Sergeant Lanre said arrangements are already being made for a befitting burial. |

Relationship problems are consistently on the top of lists of concerns in the life of the modern day person – and this is true for both sexes. This blog is for woman who may be unknowingly turning off men with habits, attitudes, and the general vibes they put out. 1. Second-guessing your thoughts and your instincts Some women avoid communicating and expressing their feelings and thoughts. They expect men to read their minds and guess their thoughts, which is not always possible. And when they fail they receive the cold shoulder for not playing the guessing game right. Nothing is more annoying for men then a woman who will just not say what she wants but expect you to read the ‘signs’. Another thing that really gets to men is some women assuming that men know what they want them to do. Saying one thing and doing just the opposite just confuses things even more for men. So, play it straight and just speak up, it leaves no room for miscommunication or misunderstandings. 2. Playing the ‘I am the superior’ card Some women equate men with being dumb, everyone makes mistakes but there is no need to constantly rub it in. It only makes you a nag and can be annoying. 3. Smothering him with too much attention Always that your guy has a mother and there is no need for you to step into her shoes. While it’s okay to comfort and be there for him, don’t treat him like a child and smother to such an extent that it starts bugging him. 4. Sharing too much information Men are not always comfortable talking about their problems, unlike some women who would go overboard sharing every minute detail with everyone in sight. Learn to exercise caution, and don’t overshare. Learn to keep things to yourself at times, especially something thats shared with you in private. It will build trust and also encourage the guy to open up more. Also, if you have just got to know the guy, there is no need to share every little detail with him. Learn to keep somethings to yourself and share only what is necessary. 5. Planning the future way ahead of time Learn to live in the moment, and while planning what to do on your birthday is okay, planning what you will do in your 50th anniv while you are still dating will only freak the guy out. Learn to take small steps and enjoy the moment rather that fastfoward with an over active imagination, leaving your partner confused and spooked. |

President Muhammad Buhari may resign if he does not recover from his ailment soon, sources have reported. According to Independent, a Presidency source has disclosed that President Muhammad Buhari will the baton to his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, if he does not recover from his ailment soon. The President has been in the United Kingdom for the better part of the year treating an undisclosed ailment, much to the chagrin of a large part of the population, including a good number of his ers. Independent reports the source to have said, “The president is not desperate to cling on to power if his health cannot carry him. I can tell you authoritatively that he has given a timeline that if he doesn’t recover fully on a specific date, he will file in his resignation letter and if you know President Buhari very well, he meant what he said. “That is why Nigerians who love the president and his efforts in restoring Nigeria’s lost glory should continue to pray for his quick recovery. It will be to our disservice if he dies as some people are wishing him”, he said. Independent also reported another source as stating that before the President embarked on his May trip to the United Kingdom, he had wanted to dispatch a resignation letter to the National Assembly but a retired general from Taraba state prevailed on him not to do so. Chief Ebenezer Babatope, former Minister of Transport and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said there was no need for the President to resign as the leading opposition party will prefer if APC brings him to re-contest election in 2019, so as to guarantee their victory at the polls. “I don’t think we should compound Nigeria’s problem by asking for the president’s resignation. First of all, it is not of his own making that he is sick. All of us must have been sick at one time or the other. If we want to help Nigeria succeed, let us pray for him to recover and come back to do his job. “We in the PDP are not bothered by his resignation at all. We are even praying that he should come back and re-contest in 2019 because we know that we are going to beat him. But it doesn’t serve anybody’s interest to ask him to resign. Those doing so are just wasting their time”, he said to Independent.
