A retired Nigerian general from one of the eastern States has 2 sons, one ed the military through their secondary school, the other want to genuinely be a soldier but was born abroad. The one born abroad travelled to the country he was born and ed their military. The other studied a course that is not needed in Nigerian Army and left.
The grudge of these gentlemen is they don't want to through what their father ed through in the hands of Nigerian army. They were born and brought up in the system but hated the system due to high level of marginalisation. The time that man became a general, Nigerian army had no choice but to promote him and that was towards retirement. Not up to 6 months,he was retired.
Why something that treats you like trash.

As years go by, more and more people from the east lost interest in these cos they don't give them equal opportunities like they give others and their kit and kin in the system are being treated unfairly.

Just look at the comments. This is why Nigerians will rather be homeless abroad than come home to their family. I have been in the U.S for 10 years. I have my papers but I can tell you that I have developed mental health issues from living here. I am very lonely. I can't see my family often. Life is short. Everything is not about making money. A lot of Nigerians that have never been abroad may never know how it feels. That people immigrate to other countries. You think it is easy? Starting afresh. Hopefully it works out. What if it doesn't work out? Of course Nigeria is not easy as well which is why people are leaving in the first place but sometimes people just have to choose what is important to them which is family, friends, community and peace of mind. To each is own. Stop criticizing people for their choices.
