Hello house, please I hardly create topic on nairaland but have been an ardent er of the forum, I have a case of a staff illegally transferring cash from terminal, being a POS staff getting close to One Million, but I have been able to nab her recently, but her parents are not cooperating in of tendering a reasonable mode of payment or undertaking, in fact her dad has totally washed his hands off her issue, so she is about to be taken to court, I personally do not want a legal proceedings on her, but they are not bringing any reasonable agreement for mode of repayment, dou we are still looking for a way to turn part of wot she used the money to buy to cash which is like one-fifth of the whole money, I really want to know if a court case should be instituted against her, is it still possible to settle it out of court, will I still be a determinant of how the case tend to go, because I learnt it is going to be a case between commissioner of police versus her the defendant whereby I will only be a Prosecutor Witness 1, I will really appreciate urgent and reasonable advice as soon as possible to make a decision on her case, thank you.

In 2009, ASUU signed an agreement guaranteeing 3 trillion naira in extra funding for the next 2 years.

By 2013, the money was not paid. ASUU went on strike, govt then told them after much delay that they could afford 1 trillion naira....over 5 years.

ASUU , under pressure from ordinary Nigerians took the deal.

Since then , only 200 bn of that money has been paid.

Consider also that all the good universities abroad have budgets in excess of $100million and above. Nigerian universities manage at most $10 million, of they are lucky.

Also, it costs 600000 naira to train one university student in one year.

Finally, by my own estimates, Nigerian universities need 10 trillion naira yearly. Our budget is 8 trillion. Even at 26 % of budget for education, that won't be enough.

You see why fees have to go up ? Even if times were good?

please how do they arrive at #600000 to train one university student in a year coz I don't know what they offer a student in a fed/state university that could cost such amount in a year, is it accommodation or free feeding?
