If the USA a country that’s more than 10X richer than Nigeria spends 5bn naira in renovating the VPs residence, why is Nigeria spending 21bn naira, money that is 5X above what was budgeted for student loans in renovating a VPs residence?

USA GDP is abt $29 trillion while Nigeria is tanking at $253 billion, that's about 115 times. Nigerians are just so fu**ing stupid that they'll always try to justify irrational spending especially the Yoruba people, I am Yoruba and I extremely hate this tribe

Stupid people

They want to loot shops owned by black people

They should eat their HIV infested country

I still see all black South Africans as Slaves in their own country
They worship white

Very soon I repeat very soon. The white will take over that country

They already took over, the whites are just 7.3% of the population yet they own most of the wealth, most of the farm lands, most of the big businesses, many of the political offices, they live in almost all of the available middle and elite class estates
There are even 2 cities that is strictly white that have their own currencies government laws etc, no black is allowed in those cities no matter what and the federal government of SA recognize the cities, their laws and their currencies

In comparison, black south Africans are 81.4% of the population yet they are treated as second class citizens, they only have 4% of their country's farm land and the only thing they can boast of is HIV

The flag thing is embarrassing.

Is Nigeria itself not embarrassing enough? We are a subject of comedy, disdain and ridicule to the world. Despite our talent, many foreigners don't want to associate with us, they prefer to work with unqualified people than work with qualified Nigerians.

Is Nigeria even worth its existence?

What about recording two people fucking in a car?

They are in public and have no right whatsoever on who should and should watch or record them

If they are recorded in a private property then that is a criminal issue.

Laws, order and morals exist for a reason

This is a gross violation of their rights. You don't have any business or right to video them or expose them to the media. They own their bodies.

Kindly point out the rights that were violated...

Last time I checked, recording anyone in public in no violation, if the guy entered a building with them then record, that would be a different case.
No rights covers any recordings in public, not in Nigeria, not in the US so explain to me what rights were violated

Based on the question, I am neither in nor against the current USD-Naira value. It made USD assets and portfolio bigger when swapped with naira... With inflated prices some things are "technically purchasable" If you understand what I meant?

I think I'm getting what you're saying.

At the end, it's less favourable to those who spend the volatile currency
ConquerorK: 7:34pm On Jun 27, 2024
JasonNOTStatham:
A bit tricky question. If one earns in dollars, a lower USD means the value of their portfolio and assets (in USD) will drop significantly. A higher USD value regardless of inflation or high cost, keeps it in range.

The thing is the percentage rise isn't balanced with current economic impact. Earning $1000 around ₦200 per USD would buy you one laptop in 2015, whilst earning $1000 now at over 1500 would buy you more laptops.

You are wrong.

$1000 when $to naira was 200 in 2015 will get you more things than $1000 when dollar to naira is 1500 in 2024.
What you people always look at is the numbers and that is wrong.
Numbers show the worth of a currency, the bigger the numbers the less the currency is worth

Lemme give you an example, in 2015, a bag of rice was 6,500. Now that same bag of rice is 90,000.
In 2014, I bought my first laptop(second hand) for 25000,now the exact same laptop is being sold for over 150,000(don't forget that since the laptop model is now 10 years older than it was in 2014,the price automatically reduced by a huge margin yet it still cost over 150k)

Do you understand now?

We are yet to see the positive impact of all this story on our economy. Put down your trumpet

The funny thing is that they were very quick to mention economy improvement as the first on the list but right under tinubu, in less than 8 months after taking office, he shaved off about $60bn from Nigeria GDP, from $450bn to $390bn. Currently, Nigeria is no longer the biggest economy in Africa, Egypt is now the biggest economy in Africa

What a loud failure

Just Google search "BlackRock total assets under management" and you'll see it
Vanguard on the other hand has AUM worth $8.1trillion
Vanguard is the biggest corporate investor in BlackRock while BlackRock is also the biggest investor in vanguard.
In total, $17 - $18trillion is directly or indirectly managed by BlackRock

Also, BlackRock made a contract to rebuild Ukraine, the contract is worth between $400billion to $1trillion essentially selling out the whole country

BlackRock is also the one behind the spread of woke, political and disgusting ideologies in American movies and companies using the ESG framework.

Everything is out there on Google for you to see if you're willing to just google search it

Not bad.

Our position as Nigeria can be better with time if all our youths quit crimes, laziness, idle entertainment and cyberbullying on social media.

“Go to the rural areas, farms, markets, etc, to see those who are really suffering. The poor Nigerians are not on social media.

“You come online every day, post your pictures and videos, and still claim that you are suffering. My brother, you are not sincere to yourself.

“Today, our youths have misplaced priorities because they don’t think straight. They would rather stay online from morning till night instead of using their precious time and money for something tangible.”

I will not be surprised if some of the millionaires in Mauritius are Nigerians who their businesses there and use them as haven to hide wealth overseas like we found in the Pandora files.

Now look at Nigeria, see how dumb things will play out if it was implemented

Bro Europe has housing tax, housing tax is the backbone of every developed economy except the oil rich low population countries every serious country pay housing tax
ConquerorK: 9:02am On Oct 17, 2023
Honestly speaking, this so called proposition have no common sense backing and it's very f"" lish. Attack me if you want but that's the truth.
Even in a first world country like USA, taxing everything citizens own don't work but look at you proposing the same idea to a 3rd world country
Price of everything increased, income tax increased yet government still claim to be broke and resort to borrowing. The rich got richer and the poor get poorer so the distinction between both became wider and more hatred for the rich, ruling class, politicians and government increased but look at you proposing an idea to even widen that gap again
If many things are taxed, you think creation of businesses will be encouraged? You think Nigerians will want to build houses and buy cars? When they don't, you think landlords will not increase the rent? You think public transports and car rentals will not increase their fees? You think food prices will not shoot up exponentially? You think education will not become expensive?
Are you prepared for a country of anarchy? Where no order will no longer function because of the extreme suffering of the people?

If that is what you want, then go to social media, keep tagging the federal government until they see this ret--ded idea of yours and good luck

mrvitalis:
So that's about 105% of revenue which leaves in a very bad state

My solution

Nigeria has about 42 million houses... Let's say 60% are in urban areas that leaves 25.2 million houses...

Say each house is valued at an average of 20 million

Implementing a 3% housing tax yearly ( federal government keeps 50% state keep 50% )

This would generate 7.56 trillion yearly for the federal government

Now we have 12 million cars in Nigeria already from stats I get

If we introduce 20k to 500k tax on cars, tricycles and bikes . .. We should be looking at a revenue of 3 trillion... States keep 1.5 federal 1.5 trillion yearly

This two simple system Yeileds 9 trillion yearly plus our current 8 trillion yearly... That's about 17 trillion

If we can restructure our debts... We can reduce debt servicing to 4 trillion... Yes
And wage bill can be reduced to 5 trillion... We have 8 trillion left

If 3 trillion goes to infrastructure 2 to health and education

We can have 3 trillion provided to banks at 3% interest to give to businesses in the import substitutes and exportable business as loans at 10% max

The above would create 5 million jobs in 5 years and increase revenue by over 5 trillion yearly

note this solution is not perfect and is a short version of the whole theory

What stops men from caring for the kids as much as their wives so that they will not feel left out or less loved?
What stops men is time and household responsibility

Time: men mostly have to stay longer at work to provide for the family so when they return home they're usually tired and can't make time to bound with children as much as the mothers do

Household responsibility: there's two major angle to this
1. It's in the aspect of collecting foods and other benefits from parents. Children feel loved when someone gives them something especially food and other eatables. Mothers are the ones directly cooking and feeding the children so the children naturally grow more attached
2. There needs to be a iron hand in the house. Mothers are soft to their children hence father's are tasked to be rigid so the child does not become spoilt.
Mothers care, fathers correct and lead

The thing is fathers love their children just as much as mothers do but cannot show it because of the responsibility they have to carry, also fathers need to care for everyone equally else someone will feel left out. Mothers on the other hand mostly prioritize their children over their husband and care more about the children so the husband is left out and over time a gap is created

In the end, it's no one's fault but a balance needs to be made in parenting

Why is it that a currency ($) that Nigeria doesn't own nor print keeps having such an insane influence on our local economy??

That is what it means when a currency becomes the most dominant currency and also the global reserve currency.

80% of all international trades are made in dollars
60% of all international deposits and loans are made in dollars
59% of the global reserve is in dollars, far larger than the second most used reserve currency which is euro€ at 20%

This is the major reason China, Russia and south Africa are ditching dollar, it destroys every other economy for the gain of USA. Any inflation of the dollar or financial crisis in USA leads to a massive problem globally while USA only carry a tiny portion of the problem they cause.

It's now like USA being the driver in a car while all other countries are the shock absorbers, when the driver intentionally speed into a pothole, you know who feels the most effect...

However, innoson motors is the first ever entirely Nigerian firm to enter full-scale automotive assembly in Nigeria. Others include Nord automobile (Lagos), stallion motors, Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria (DPAN), Coscharis Motors, globe motors, Lanre Shittu Motors (LSM) etc
