I usually would not respond to questions like this however, Nairaland was my major source of travel information before moving to Australia 7 yrs ago.

1. Comparing Canada to Australia is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Different climate.
2. Studying in Australia is more expensive I guess compared to Canada.
3. Wages are probably higher in Australia compared to Canada
4. Lots of work available in Oz. I do not know about the current work situation for Canada.
5. Proximity to Africa:if you plan to visit often then Canada may be preferred.
6. Are you more inclined to the U.S or Britain? Canada for U.S and Britain for Australia.
6. Familial ties to Canada or Oz might also be taken into .
Cheers

Hello house, good to see that the properties section is still going strong. I would like anyone who has an idea on borehole construction to fill me in. It seems that there are several types of boreholes? I am not sure why i keep getting quotes that are so far apart. Someone said N250,000. Another person said that it is done for N350,000. The location is Kaduna. Thanks

God knows i can't get married to any man that doesn't know how to cook and do some basic chores

My sister, this is horrifying, how in this day and age a grown man is unable to prepare a simple meal for himself is beyond me. And what is most disgusting is the pride with which he displays his lack of basic culinary skill. Sad.

Events and revelations of the past few days have really exposed how selfish and conceited the vast majority of Nigerians are. Footages and photos of our brothers and sisters being traded, imprisoned and killed in Libya are all over the internet. There are protests in Paris. I am just wondering, why there is no protest in Nigeria. I am not sure of the statistics but have watched some interviews and have come to the conclusion that at least 50% of those in this terrible situation are Nigerians. This means that our brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces are being mindlessly sold, imprisoned and some killed in Libya yet each time I read Nigerian news all I see are our reactions on someone's wedding, peoples private sexual lives and lifestyle. Where did we go wrong as a country? Ok. the govt. is silent. But these are our own relatives, friends out there. We are always talking ing the social media to engender change. Why cant we also use the same social media to fight this evil until something good happens? I am so sad. Sorry for the long tirade but if there is any logical explanation for our complacence please leave your comments below. Thanks.

All I see is stupidity. Electrocution is no respecter of persons. Don't tempt God. It is funny how overzealous Nigerian Christians leave the primary purpose of the gospel to concentrate on showing off their 'love for God' in ridiculous ways.

Beautiful Abusite. Naturally ahead...

I can't believe that I am doing this. Anyway, here we go.

That is so lame. Why would a sane grown up person travel outside his country temporarily and not buy insurance? 20, 000 naira insurance with any company such as mutual benefits would have saved him from such embarrassment.

Go and buy Kamasutra - it is a book on the art of lovemaking (Indian). You cant follow the steps and not be aroused by your wife. Delay gratification. Start with a little romantic dinner (candle lit). Minimise distractions. It shouldn't be that hard.

NB: Got the book as a wedding present years ago and it is bae.

OP: You will soon understand why you are not encouraged to use other people's wrappers especially from other banks. Let me educate you as someone who has supervised Bank tellers.

1. Low risk/ cash trail: Cash which you have counted and put into fresh wrappers bear your own initials and sometimes ,your personal stamp. Sometimes, cash needs to be traced for various reasons including robberies and fake currencies. If I know from your deposit that you received deposits from 50 depositors excluding Mr C, then you make my job easier if an issue comes up regarding fakes or serial numbers need to be traced. Please use a fresh wrapper. Do not confuse me by using a wrapper from Jumoke's dustbin!

2. Risk of fraud is minimal when you use a fresh wrapper. You know what you counted and you are able. If any shortage occurs, you can't hold anyone else able. It is your cash!
When cash gets into the vault at the end of the day, the only thing differentiating the cash that you vaulted in for the day is YOUR wrapper bearing your signature and stamp. And, guess what? If any customer complains that he/she was short paid you are covered if you have used a fresh wrapper and he/she presents a different wrapper.

You do not want to know what happens when you have used Jumoke's wrapper and put your own initials or stamp because you wanted to save the Bank some few #. Banking is not done that way. It should be transparent. Those cash wrappers have definite uses.

3. Wrapper from another Bank into the Vault? Anyway, by now you would have known the consequences of such.

My advice? Take your time to learn the policies of your Bank regarding cash handling. You cannot be wiser than your cash manager/internal control. Tellers are languishing in maximum prisons for honest mistakes.

@crackhaus: we still have mutual friends. We attended the same church with some of them. It seems blocking them completely would be the safer option?

Thanks@torpido and Acidosis: The only reason I may consider having any form of with them will definitely be because of the children who may still want to know about their roots in future. And no, they didn't succeed in pushing us out in the cold because I was too enlightened for all that , I guess. It was checkmate smiley

However, there were a lot of spiritual attacks on my person when I still lived in Nigeria and they even enlisted the help of a lawyer to engage in a legal battle with me but they lost. Could this new-found friendship be a ploy to get my attention so that they could wreck havoc on my family?

So my people, my gist is simple. After the death of my late husband 3 yrs ago and the drama that ensued with the family trying to get his benefits and leave me and the kids in the cold. The kids were both under the age of four then.

Anyway, I quit my banking job and relocated abroad with the kids and God has blessed me. Kids are doing great and I have found myself. No whatsoever with the in laws.

Now, I have found love again and recently got married to a non-african and suddenly, as soon as the interracial wedding pictures hit Facebook, I am inundated with Facebook requests from the in laws.

What do you reckon is the best line of action?

Been laughing at the comments. At least they didn't kill anyone and it is their own health that is being affected.

Too bad.
You are so funny. Who cares about their health? It is the country's reputation and the reputation of its law abiding citizens that are at stake.

Madam, you see yourself? What are you looking for in his phone? You better settle with your husband if not that lady will replace you. Babes are not smiling. Pls leave his phone alone.

Some will say that you should leave your home. Let me tell you a secret. Those bad advisers are going through worse in their marriages but choose to work it out.
