apart from the child being a Canadian, the child can only sponsor you to the a permanent residence when he/she is of age, you are entitled to child benefit etc, however as a last resort you could get permanent residence on humanitarian and comionate ground ( not guaranteed)

Thanks for the reply but pls what different btw asylum for PR and humanitarian/ comionate ground it same thing??

All these pictures you're posting are completely useless.
Nigerians are suffering in Canada, people have been here for 1-2 years without a stable job, people are losing their home cos they couldn't keep up with the rent, people are dropping out of colleges cos they can no longer afford the new semester fee after coming here with the thought that they can work and pay it off, people are dropping shame behind and moving back to Nigeria after wasting millions of naira coming to this useless empty country and you keep posting these lame pictures without offering any tips to help them navigate the struggles. Nigerian are dying in this country and you guys don't want to say the truth openly so the new ones coming should know what's up.

Canada is a dead country, just big for nothing and empty. You better use that money to move to any country in Europe even if it's a non speaking English country instead of coming to Canada. Don't be deceived by these pictures you see online, the reality is far different from what you are seeing.

CANADA IS DEAD!!!

Bro, you cannot discourage us. We are still coming to Canada. As an average Nigerian, you will struggle both at home and abroad before you make it. So, hold on – maybe in 15 to 25 years, things will be okay, if you don't die of stress, depression, or a heart attack. Your child will benefit from your relocation decision now. Stay positive minded grin

What do you need them for? To sell right?

Bros, that's business sense. You can buy items to resell or use them. One of the most affordable ways to acquire inexpensive household appliances or real estate properties is by purchasing from individuals who are desperate in need of cash and have any visa to travel outside Nigeria. They can offer you items at significantly lower prices, especially those travelling to Canada and UK with family .

Yes you are right, I have sold all my properties. Now open a new thread and gather people like you to complain on that thread about the hopelessness of Canada for immigrants.

When you were in Nigeria, you complained about everything, you moved to another country, yet, you still keep complaining about the new place instead of using your brain to find solutions, implement them and tell people what worked and what didn't...

Ogbeni, go back to Nigeria if you are tired of Canada, space still dey for una... awon "anti-japa'ites".

Let them flee Canada, it's a free world. New folks are still immigrating to Canada and a percentage of them are prepared for whatever they meet on ground and are willing to adjust accordingly instead of complaining.

I guess you have sold your property because you plan to relocate to Canada, or maybe you have taken a loan that you promised to repay immediately after arriving in Canada. The way your energy and attitude spark toward anybody that make counter view point about Canada is suspicious grin

I guess you are new here, where did you see me attack the poster? Have you bothered to see the history of my posts or the other party's posts here?

Your question about whether I am old or new here is not smart because it is irrelevant to the discussion. Are you the , or what exactly are you? This is not your personal space or bedroom , so let people post videos in peace. You can post a counter-video to share your positivity so we can all learn, but you cannot hide the reality of life in Canada. Both negative and positive arguments are equally important in making informed decisions about relocation via student route!!

You too can post a video showing something positive, and we can compare. This will provide a balanced viewpoint instead of just attacking the information being shared. Please, we need information!

The truth is, every case is different, and no result will be the same.

Back in 2016, I was denied my 2nd student visa and my 4th visa in total to Canada.

That was my 4th visa rejection, even after paying $10,000 in school fees for the first year, with a total fee of $30,000.

At the time, my dad had $32,000 in savings and about ₦20,000,000 in his personal , along with a business holding ₦100,000,000.

This was for Centennial College, where I was pursuing a postgraduate diploma.

Don’t worry—after the denial, I was refunded.

Canadian immigration can be very frustrating.

Over the years, after helping others with visa applications, one thing I’ve come to understand is that most people don’t qualify for the visa category they are applying for.

In my case, I was initially applying for a student visa with a postgraduate diploma.

However, when I applied for a master’s degree program and a student visa, it was approved quickly, even with less money in my dad's .

By that time, my sister had already moved to Canada in 2016, and her fees had been fully paid.

Another factor to consider is the immigration climate of the country at the time of your application.

For example, Canada is now trying to reduce the number of temporary visas (visitor visas), making it more challenging to get approved.

Back in 2014 to 2017 🇳🇬 apply for colleges for a diploma program come into the country

When you already have a BSC in Nigeria

and because of Buhari and exchange rate issue started that time most people didn't complete the college they look for ways to get PR ( marriage asylum etc.) while still being students

But it was less with people coming for Masters and PHD

One thing to note is that obtaining a Canadian visa is not just about having money—although finances are very very very important —but also about applying for the visa under the right category that suits your qualifications and intentions.

IRCC knows you are not coming for a "conference".😂😂

The 🇳🇬 that have come here before you they don't do what they say they will do are the main issue.

I met a man who lived in Canada before. He said that the recent Canadian budget report showed a $61 billion deficit, and the Government of Canada is now projected to owe $2.6 trillion by 2030, with $70 billion in interest payments per year. Therefore, they can only pause immigration due to the election, but after the election, they will return to mass immigration. Without the constant flow of immigrants to generate tax revenue, they cannot fully address all this debt, old age pensions, and excess foreign aid, as it is part of Canada's system of operation...so make l relax hope dey grin

It’s mostly about how the 50m was made. Also, they don’t find it credible that you could be that successful and have never gone anywhere for business or vacation in the past. It’s safe to note people have gotten visas with no prior travel history.

Maybe last year then many people get visa without travel experience but not this 2025 majority people without family in canada or travel experience and applying canada visit visa na direct to dustbin of ircc refusal!!

I don't say what I don't know.

The exception isn’t the case or norm here.

Just because you do it doesn’t mean it’s an exception and you are already in Toronto settled

People here are trying to convince the visa officer that they have the financial means to themselves while in the country, will not claim asylum, and won’t be a burden on social services.

They also need to prove that they’ll return to Nigeria after their "conference" is over.

This is why it’s required to have more than the average traveler would in your bank , ready to spend.

First, let’s break down the costs:

1. **Accommodation**: The average hotel room in Toronto or Canada as a whole costs around $150 per night (this is a conservative estimate).

2. **Transportation**: Using the TTC, GO Bus, and trains will cost a minimum of $20 per day. If you’re new to the area and moving around a lot as a tourist attending a "conference," transportation expenses could go up to $50 daily.

3. **Food**: Eating isn’t cheap. Even if you cook, it could cost you $30–$100 per day.

To be on the safe side, because you’re convincing the visa officer of your ability to financially sustain yourself, budgeting **$300 per day** is reasonable.

For reference, here’s what Statistics Canada says about Canadian residents’ spending on domestic trips:

As of August 28, 2024, the average spending per domestic trip was $233 ($112 for same-day trips and $496 for overnight trips) in the first quarter of 2024. This implies that a foreigner will likely spend even more.

I am not guiding anyone, just sharing my personal opinion. That’s why I put "conference" in quotation marks.

Yes, if you don’t qualify for the visa, you won’t get it—no hard feelings.

I have gone through the entire IRCC visa application process, from:

- Visitor Visa (2 rejections in 2013/2014) using agent

- to Student Visa (2 rejections in 2015/2016 using an agent),

- to finally getting my Student Visa approved in 2017 (on my own no agent).

Today, I am a Canadian citizen.

Don’t give up, but make sure to use the correct visa for your situation. If you can to nairaland You have an internet and You have all the information online

I have helped my sister get

(1) student Visa UK (one time)

(2) a Canadian Visitor Visa from the UK, where she works. She visited and returned as required. ( One time).

(3) My brother who is a PR and parents V V all thanks to nairaland no agent

Recently 2 weeks ago, Justin Trudeau’s Immigration Minister talked about reforms to the asylum system to prevent it from being misused.

His party is not going to win he is trying everything possible

If you’re planning to overstay your Visitor Visa, abandon that idea Canada has changed

Oga,This people don understand our scope and he don cast ,all this conference and tourist visa as a novice traveller na mostly to gain entrance to Canada and disappear, person that never go Ghana or south Africa and just wake up and want to spend 6 million naira to attend a conference in Canada but uk student visa na pure water if you get ur money it 100% sure but you go see shege pro max for uk if you land on student visa as my guy currently in uk advice me ..make l use my money enjoy xmas ...l no apply again for now grin

Do people sell property for a visitor visa? No one should sell property for a visitor visa.

It's a visitor Visa as of today it has alot of limits

Again, stop using unlicensed immigration agents. Ask them for their RCIC number and it on the ICCRC website.

If you qualify for a visa category, you will get it.

You need to clearly explain what you will be doing in Canada during your stay.

An unlicensed immigration agent often relies on trial and error. Many produce fake documents or fill out forms incorrectly.

No one knows you better than yourself, so take responsibility for your application.

oga ,you go explain taya ...ircc dey refuse visa especially if you have no family in Canada or good travel history at least you can see from the testimony shared here recently it mostly people with family in Canada or solid travel history and who tell you the man you guiding planning to just go visiting by attend conference and come back or how many that go attend conference last year are back ...l laugh you sir grin

Thanks greatly for this insight. Definitely, I ain't going agent route. It's not a do or die affair.

The challenge is POF; little balance at the moment but good inflow & outflow of funds on the and some evidence of personal income?

PLEASE , you can present all these documents ,good in/out flow and much more, but still be refused. Please do not sell your property or ancestral land until you have received your visa. The refusal rate is extremely high. Despite all the agents' assurances of solid documentation and counter-promises, they still refused my friend last week after 6 months of waiting!

a friend once applied for a uk visa from Canada before and only attached my PR card. Just explained the rest without putting evidence like bank statement, hotel booking etc and was given. The economic situation in Nigeria and our reputation over the years has made visa officers see Nigerians with travel history as potential japa that won’t come back.

It’s possible there’s some sort of issue with your application, in my case, I didn’t a single document and made a mistake with my port date. I still got the visa nonetheless, just the delay.

Wow, you applied for a Canadian visa without ing any documents and even provided a wrong port date, yet your visa was approved? I hope you're not spreading fake testimonials online , claiming it's a miracle or grace. This is shocking and fake shocked

Be well established in your country. Own a viable business or be working in high profile company and role where you can show proof.

Have decent money in your bank which can be proof beyond doubt. Have family like wife, parents or siblings who you re responsible to and then have properties and investments. And then have involvement in church or any reputable social group.

At least travel to Egypt, Kenya and SA.

Ghana and Benin Republic are way to cheap.

With all these requirements you listed, if I am well-established in Nigeria, owning a viable business or working in a high-profile company or role, I would be crazy/foolish to be thinking of japa to Canada. It’s mostly hustlers who seek to japa. Please suggest something more realistic because your requirements seem too extravagant for a common man!!!

Go on Canadian government website and check if you see such visa nah

I appreciate this information, and thank God I didn’t rush to pay, even though the guy kept calling me, morning and night saying the slots would finish soon and i need drop part-payment urgently . I decided to go check him at his house to discuss one-on-one, only to find out from the landlord that he moved out last month, as the police were looking for him due to money and ports he collected from different people. When I called him and told him I was at his house, he immediately hung up, and his phone has been switched off since.

PLEASE,Does anyone know about the Canada Special Sponsorship Work Visa? An agent told me he has 10 slots available, and I need to pay a ₦550,000 deposit, with the balance deducted in installments once I start working in Canada. The visa will supposedly be ready within 3 months. The package includes free accommodation, work on a farm in Canada, a free plane ticket, and free feeding. However, he said I need to pay quickly before the slots close. I was refused a visitor visa this year, and I'm thinking this might be a good chance.

March and April applicants are you ready?

Let the decisions (approvals amd refusals) start rolling. Visa is never a right but a privilege by the host country. So let's learn to manage our expectations. Nothing should be do or die.

Bro, it's because you didn’t pay an agent, that's why you're talking like this. If you drop 2 million as a down payment to an agent, hoping to get a visa, then you'll understand that most of us are only expecting approval. Rejection is a huge financial and mental loss. I sold my motorbike last year, and the rejection pained me to the bone. Now, I'm still looking for a way to reapply!
