A. QUALIFICATIONS:

a. Professor (CONUASS 7):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University or a recognized appropriate professional (medical) qualification with at least twelve (12) years teaching experience at the University level or cognate exposure. Twenty (20) Publications of which sixteen (16) in print out of which four (4) must be in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals. For Engineering and Applied Sciences, twenty-four (24) publications, twenty (20) in print and not less than six (6) in three (3) different, reputable and regularly published foreign index journals. The other four (4) may be technical reports or patents.

b. Associate Professor (CONUASS 6):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University with at least nine (9) years of teaching at the University level or cognate exposure with demonstrable evidence of scholarly achievement. Fifteen (15) publications, eleven (11) in print, four (4) of which must be in not less than two (2) different referred reputable and regularly published foreign index journals. For Engineering and Applied Sciences, eighteen (18) publications, fourteen (14) in print and four (4) in two reputable and regularly published journals. The other four may be technical reports or patents.

c. Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University plus ten (10) Publications; ten (10) of which must be referred journal articles in print. For Engineering, eight ( publications, six (6) of which must be refereed journal articles in the print plus COREN registration, the other two (2) articles may be refereed proceedings or teaching reports.

d. Lecturer I (CONUASS 4):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University plus four (4) journal publications two (2) of which must have been published or Ph.D plus professional registration plus three (3) published journal articles. A Master’s Degree plus five (5) journal articles four (4) of which must have been published.

e. Lecturer II (CONUASS 3):
A Ph.D. from a recognized University. Or Master’s degree plus two (2) journal publications. Plus the relevant professional registration as an added advantage.

f. Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2):
A good second class honours degree (not less than 2nd class lower) plus a Master’s degree or A Bachelor’s degree (first or second class upper) plus a professional registration.

g. Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1):
A good honours degree (first or second class upper) from any recognized University.

h. Academic Librarian:
To be an Academic Librarian, applicants must have obtained a good Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or its equivalent from any recognized University and must be a ed Librarian with relevant professional registration

i. Technologist:
Candidates must possess a good B.Sc./HND from a recognized institution in relevant. Professional Registration is an added advantage.

This is not story is genuine it appears on their schedule and payslips from a brother who is working there. One with the grade level six 6 got additional of 27k. ABU decries academic staff shortage, urges govt to lift employment embargo


Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has decried the shortage of academic staff in some of the institution’s faculties, attributing it to thee deployment of Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS).


Prof. Kabiru Bala, the Vice-chancellor of the university, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the 2023 induction ceremony for 67 inducted doctors from the institution

Bala, represented by Prof. Danladi Ameh, ther Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), said the university was in need of more academic staff, not only in the College of Medical Sciences but in other faculties, such as the Faculty of Arts.

“Specifically, in the Department of Philosophy, they need more academic staff, as the department has been managing with sabbatical and contract staff.

“Since the deployment of IPPIS, we have not been able to pay for them and they subsequently disengaged, hence the imperative of lifting the ban on employment for the university.

If he was given IPPIS confirmation slip he should check, which they put as his date of first appointment, if they put the month he was capture no arrears, but if they put different date before the capturing he will be paid but the arrears will take time
