Perhaps, because the first duty of a woman is to be a helper. She is a lot of things, but she is first of all a helper which translates to wife, so there is absolutely nothing wrong or belittling about starting your identity out with your primary purpose. e.g. Ciara dash dash dash; Wife, Writer, Lawyer, CEO etc!
