More money and attention goes to this sort of crap than education, science, industry, technology and productivity.... That's why we are where we are. A hungry, parasitic, third world country like Nigeria has no business placing emphasis on nonsense like this and BBnaija

The Nigerian situation is quite bad. The only time you get the attention of govt is when u finally go on strike and even then their attention span is short! Within a few days, people forget there's a strike and life goes on. ASUU spent 8 months with no reprieve. Some people in government do not like peace. Medical residency training fund which should be paid directly to ALL resident doctors has been concluded in all ramifications; the act backing it has been ratified and budgetary allocations confirmed. All things being equal, it should not be the source of any conflicts. However, some corrupt individuals decided to manipulate and twist issues. They met with the ministry of finance and budget and suddenly decided the money should not be paid to the resident doctors, rather to the training college. They inflated the yearly amount thrice, completely ignoring the act and laid down agreements. These elements in govt do not want industrial Harmony. They are milking the govt dry and at the same time refusing to pay directly to the doctors as stipulated in the act. Exam fees, certificate levies, update courses, transport and miscellaneous will cost a resident doctor at least 1.5million yearly, MRTF doesn't cover half this amount. Most hospitals last employed doctors 3-5 years ago. Thousands of doctors have left the country since then. What we have left now are large, high turn over departments manned by 1 or 2 doctors. Some of them like spend 72-96 hours without normal sleep. No wonder they sometimes harass people and are not courteous. This exhausted, erratic doctor is supposed to make judgement calls on so many high risk patients. It's crazy!!! FG has refused to employ! The worst fact is that these few doctors work with phone lights, extremely hot operating rooms, lack of basic facilities like stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers, thermometers, not to talk of other life saving necessities like blood transfusion services and a functioning lab that will give you urgent results. It's mad what is happening in the hospital. It's such a hostile work environment where even other health workers in govt institutions blatantly refuse to play their role. Doctors sometimes work like hospital attendants, they mop, do the work of nurses and lab technicians because while the others are eager to end their shifts with little concern as to the fate of the patient, the doctor Ultimately bears the burden of the patients survival. This callous attitude by other health workers can NEVER be repeated in the UK or US...many Nigerian nurses that have left had to seriously reorient themselves. Doctors like every other person have the option of leaving the country but to be honest, there's no place like home. Many are here not for lack of opportunity, rather for love of country and desire to help maintain some sanity. 16 Likes 5 Shares |

Winter is coming! All peace loving Nigerians must prepare because there will be no peace without war. If the constituted authority is so incompetent to face these white walkers, we might have to face them at our door steps some day. It is self deceit, absolute folly to think it won't reach you, your relatives or friends at this pace. Moreso Nigerians are about to elect another set of old retaards to replace the current ones.... No end in sight. Most Nigerians in their stupidity have elevated ethnicity and religion over competence in their choice of leaders and analysis of current events in the country. We know nothing... Like Jon Snow; we know nothing! |

Ecbatana:The yorubas and igbos are unnecessarily and unfortunately bitter enemies despite their level of education and social advancement. Nigeria will only become great when these two major ethnic groups drop their large egos, find a common ground and take over the leadership of Nigeria 2 Likes |

For those of you making unguarded statements trying to ridicule the dead, know that he never touched the initial vicitms in his bid to rescue them. He instead tried opening the iron gate to the house to figure out the source of the voltage before he got shocked. Show some respect! If he had stayed back in his house, he would still be alive but his action will been seen as inhuman |

I am a proud son of Kogi state but due to paucity of opportunities in Nigeria I have decided to change my state of origin. I have no political ambitions. I just want to know if there are any legal issues. Is it criminal or unlawful? Is it tantamount to providing false information? I hope we all learn from the information our learned persons in the house will provide. Lets let them do the talking please. Please do not flood the initial pages with irrelevant write ups that though funny wouldnt answer the question or provide insight in the issue I hope lalasticlala would kindly move this up to the front page for the benefit of Nigerians. Thank you |

This country is worse than a banana republic, its worse than a zoo, its a shiit hole!!! He makes this kind of threat freely and is allowed to roam about un touched. Apostle Suleiman tells his congregation to defend themselves against killer herdsmen and the DSS are all over him!

I live close to Tina junction. This morning, the corpse of a young christian boy was found. This is the second time in a month such a thing has occurred. The relatives and friends of the boy feel he was killed by neighbouring muslim community and decided a reprisal was necessary. Road blocks were set up at tina junction and then sporadic gun shots. There are soldiers, armoured tanks and bikes around the area now but the unrest still persists. If you have loved ones around the area, advice them to stay indoors and not travel into or out of the hot zone. The state govt is likely to deny this leading to more deaths of unsuspecting travellers. 1 Like |

Nigerian army on a good day no send anybori! They can kill or brutalise innocent citizens without recourse to the law, no apologies afterwards. If Amnesty likes it should cry to high heavens, the army and their commander in chief can pay deaf ears to any acc. That is why no bori should take this press statement seriously. It is so unusual, unexpected, un-nigerian. We don't yet know the trigger but in the coming days we will. Nigerian army never seeks credibility, they just carry on like zombies. 1 Like |

Whenever I see or hear a PMB fanatic complaining I just relax and enjoy. I ridicle those begging on the streets, I scorn at those who complain about hunger at the work place. I laugh when I see them fail to meet up with their financial obligations. I just watch when they take their sick to the hospitals and can't pay any bills..... Im always excited to remind them that it's their darling PMB in power. It is funny that the weakest and most down trodden of the Nigerian society voted enmasse for continued hunger suffering. Now these ones say they are not being taken care of.... They should enjoy the ride biko!
