But for someone that was to start PGD in a DLI school in May 2024, and almost ready to submit application for His wife's SOWP, How can he change to a Masters program.

Can he apply when he arrives Canada with the study permit for PHD or will have to do a new Canada study permit application afresh for Master's ??

What is the average cost of a Masters program in Canada.

Guys I gained ission to a 2 year PGD course, but will it be possible for me to now convert my 2 year PGD program at a college in Canada in to a 1 year course ( not same course again though, a different one but on a 1 year )

The school fees for the 2 years program is what I can not meet up with .

He has not been working for any company for 2 years now...but on self hustle.
But used his friend ed company ( not active) as his working place.
Please when he writes his SOP, should he state he still working there or resigned ?
Will the V.O ask for letter of employment, leave and resignation letters ??

What should he do in this regard, is letter of employment necessary now that he is already in Canada?

You can apply from Canada using IMM 1294 (if using a gckey ). When they approve the application, you can travel to Nigeria to submit your port or send it to their Ottawa Visa Office. After you receive the port, you must go to the border to obtain your study permit, as this is technically an outside-of-Canada application.

Note that this is not an in-Canada application, as having a visitor visa does not make you eligible to apply from inside Canada. To be eligible to apply from inside Canada (a study permit is mailed to your address without PPR), you must meet specific criteria; one such requirement is completing a course or program prerequisite to securing a school ission to a DLI.

Fastest is Lagos, if you leave around Lagos. Also if you did your Biometrics in Lagos VFS, you are not to pay any money again. You can submit by hand ( you book appointment sha ) and collect by self too .

Normally you will state that the visit is for say 2 or 3 weeks on your application. Stick to that on your return ticket.

When you get to Canada you are safe to stay till your 6 months max. That is if your plans to converting to another status no work. But don't stay beyond 6 months on Visitors Visa at a time

That means what I need is :
Year 1 school Fund ( 1st and 2nd semester) $9,500 + $9,500= $19,000

Living expensis $10,000

Total = $29,000

So if I tell them I will find work to pay the Balance will that fly ? Or what type of story do I tell to justify how I will pay the balance??

5 weeks training in truck driving in Nigeria
2 months internship in truck driving in Nigeria with recommendation letter from driving school and internship job

They entered canada Nad went to Brampton, applied for CDL liecense and ed the test and got the liecense
The one dat did not went through the 1 month training in canada, a bit expensive and then ed the test.

The training school referred them to companies and they got LMIA jobs
Flagpole and got work permit

The good thing is that you can apply from PR after 2 years driving truck as a shortage skill occupation

And you do not need experience to be a truck driver in canada with the Canadian liecense, except you are Appling through express entry.

So for those shouting no LMIA, think about shortage skills and get trained.

Job full ground with LMIA, na u dey find soft work 😆

Bros thanks for the update, buy here is another point you miss. I am currently on Visitor's Visa in Canada, I inquired to apply to Truck driving schools , they both told me that I must have my "G" License first before I can apply to Truck driving school, even with their $13k CAD school fees ooo.

I told them I have over 10years experience in Driving, and just want to enter the Truck driving industry. They no reply me.

Now to get a "G" License, you need to get a G2 first ,( exempt or do exam to get G1 , that one na for entry level. ) then drive in Canada for 1year to get your "G" , before you enter Trucks.
Also na Indians full this truck driving work ooo ...on the road I de watch every truck that es me to see who be the driver.. Honestly, na 99% Indians de drive them .

So saying just come to Canada on Visitors Visa and enter truck driving na Lie.!!!!! I am here now August 13, 2023.

Please a Friend sent his port through UPS courier service to VFS Lagos last week Tuesday. Till today Monday 17th , July no acknowledgement email from VFS.

Though he saw on UPS tracker that it was delivered to someone.

Mohawk College is a DLI and offers PGWP-eligible programs. I cannot tell whether or not your program of study is PGWP-eligible since you have provided a limited information about that here.

For medical examination, if you are intending to stay in Canada for more than six months, you need a medical examination.

Even if you fill in that you are not staying for more than six months, and IRCC gets wind that you may want to stay for a longer period, they will automatically require you to submit a medical examination.

Example of this scenario is when you apply for an SOWP for your spouse and a Visitor Visa for your accompanying child. It is evident that your child isn't coming back before a period of six months elapses and that the child would want to study because SOWP is meant for spouses of international students. In this case, they will ask you to submit a medical examination report for the child applying for Visitor Visa.

Automatically, they would issue the child Visitor Record at the port of entry which will enable the child to study and stay beyond six months without renewal until the expiration of the Visitor Visa.

Tell your bro to inform his host of his intentions, I guess he can stand in as a sponsor (that should take care of POF). Coz he still has to show IRCC he can afford to study.

So how easy will the process of converting from Visitor Visa to Student visa ??. Because he will just Resume the school program immediately rather than coming back to Naija for the processing of Visa again. That takes care of POF issues.
