Marvinway: Your choice of course is a concern as Pulic Health as a degree is not on Skilled Occupation List which means you can't use it to get PR. Student visa are still being issue to Nigerians, just do the right thing and pray. |

appexteleport: Honestly, I can't but there are some Agedcare facilities/agencies that do sponsore people from countries like Philippines and Oceania. |

zimunachimdi: Your best option will be through the New Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement as he will not be working as a HRM personnel. zimunachimdi:You provide no information about your spouse status, so a bit hard to be precise VISA 186 1. Direct Entry Stream - *Minimum of 2years working experience. *Most be nominated by Australian Employer. *Occupation must be on relevant list of eligible occupations. 2. Labour Agreement Stream *Employer must have a Labour Agreement. 3. Temporary Resident Transition. *Be nominated by employer *Must have worked for employer full-time and minimum of 2years. *Must be of TSS, 457 or bridging visa A,B or C. VISA 482 1. Short Term Stream * Bringing in workers from overseas on short term for 2-4years. 2. Medium Term Stream. *Bringing in workers where employer can source for workers locally, *Workers can stay up to 4years. 2. Long Term Stream. * For skilled workers nominated by employers under Labour Agreement * Length of stay up to 4years. NB: You can be eligible for 186 permanent resident after 2years on 482 subjected to eligibility (if your occupation is on the skilled occupation list) or any other route such as 189, 190 or 491. For 491, you'll have to wait another 3years to be eligible for 191 (permanent resident) Visa 494 1. Employer Sponsored * Enables regional employers to address labour shortage by nominate employee where employers can't source locally. * Must live, work and study in a designated regional area. *Eligible for permanent resident 191 after 3years. 2. Labour Agreement Stream. * Employer must have Labour Agreement. * Live, work and study in a designated regional area. * Eligible for 191 permanent resident after 3years. PS: Only Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney Metropolitan areas are not considered as regional areas. My opinion, 186 comes on top as it's a direct PR, I will go for 494 over 482 if your employer is outside the 3 big cities due to On 494, you will not require any further assistance from your employer to get 191, just live in a designated regional area while on 482, you may fallout with your employer, working conditions may not be favourable, business may burst or your services maynot be required thereby living you hanging as some employers maybe unwilling to sponsor you for 186 after years on 482 (so many unpleasant stories of people on 482). 1 Like 1 Share |

189 invitation round that happened on the 5th of September, minimum EOI points per occupation. Trades occupations are still getting invitation with 65points, I guess the bonanza is over for health occupations with low EOI points.
|
![]() |
With this, the repeat of 2022-2023 financial year won't happen anytime soon. That doesn't mean selected few with lower EOI points will not be invited.

Western Australia invitation round that happened earlier today, 600 invitation sent (300 each for 190 and 491) Stakes are high at the moment.

JackTheReaper: Those points are not the actual EOI points but Canberra Matrix points. Nevertheless, ITA will be a bit competitive this financial year as quotas given to states/Territory are small compare to 2022-2023. WA will do a draw this week, the outcome will determine the trend for the rest of the financial year. |

Luyi2015: MBA won't give you anything more than 3years post study work visa and 5points for Australian degree. You should be able to assess with Engineer in Australia as a food Technologist with your degree from Lautech or Production Manager with Vetassess since you once worked as a production manager. Christafarian: Early childhood is hot cake in Australia provided that she can get positive assessment from the assessing body which is ACECQA, she can as well assess as a Uni lecturer with Vetassess. 1 Like |

Hilderbrand: The financial year is almost over and most state have suspended application/nomination till maybe early Aug after receiving slots for next financial year. No one can predict exactly what will happen next financial year regarding 189, Base on this financial year, VIC won't nominate you while living in another state and you will need a job offer in WA for 190. PS: Hardly will a state nominate for 190 while living in another state. WA may nominate you but you will have to move to the state and provide evidence of residency and job offer with 60days. All these are based on this financial year requirements for nomination. |

emmyomo:This is totally untrue, rejection has always been in place since the time of paper based application and not because of interview granted by someone far away in UK. Some rejection are just because of Case officer's discretion while most are due to applicant's minor error and no justification between chosen course of study and previous degree as well as choice of institution couple with not so tight SOP. For every one visa rejection from Nigeria, there is Tens if not hundreds of Indians visa rejection, those that means that someone also granted interview in India? PS: Some schools do not accept applications from Indians in certain states due to high level of bogus degrees and documents. 2 Likes |

OvaSabi1:PhD will just give you an edge as ing is one of the courses ppl are really finding it difficult to secure a PR with in the last couple of years. There are so many ing graduates onshore but all hope is not lost, if you can avoid states like Victoria, NSW and Queensland. With enough publications and a tight profile, you can also try the option of global talent. 2 Likes |

Jhigan:Those professions you listed require at least a minimum of one year of working experience in the role to get a positive assessment. I knew some people that were fortunate to secure jobs with similar job roles during Covid lockdown which aided their skill assessment but to be sincere getting a job in that sector with the job responsibilities you will need for skill assessment doesn't come easy but not impossible. She still have option of writing APHRA exam (you can only write this twice in a lifetime) and if successful, she can practice her medical profession here. The second option is switching to medical related course such as Nursing, Biomedical science etc while onshore as this will lead to PR quicker. PS: Medical related professions are always in demand with a smiling salary. |

Jhigan:She stands a good chance, and I know few people that came through the same path. Unfortunately Public Health is not on the Skilled Occupation List which means that the course won't be eligible for PR after graduation unless She will assess as a Health Promotion Officer which requires minimum of one year working experience. |

Moloncho:Being pregnant cannot hamper your grant but you have to notify your health insurance provider upon arrival and upgrade otherwise you will have to pay more than $18,000 out of pocket for giving birth in Australia on OSHC without waiting period of at least 12months. Another thing is that your medical (xray) will shows that you are pregnant, so the best thing is just to declare that your are pregnant. 4everEdward:All visa applications are online, Apply for Subclass 820 (Temporary spouse/de-facto Visa) then after two years you can apply for Subclass 801 (Permanent partner visa). |
