A mathematics graduate can team up with an english graduate and set up a tutorial centre teaching only maths and english
The idea is not to compete with the numerous tutorial centres in the market but to creatively create a niche
Maths and English are the major areas where many students have problems
Set up a tutorial centre focussing on just Maths and English only.
You can start by using the premises of a public or private school in your environment.
Visit schools and talk to students in JSS3 and SSS3
Print handbills and distribute around the schools close to the centre.

Any graduate who can communicate in English Language can take a course in Proofreading,Editing and Book Publishing
The course costs N5k-N10k. There are hundreds of proofreading jobs online at www.onlinewritingjobs.com waiting for proofreaders.
Offline, the market is wide, very wide. Proofreading in Nigeria is a goldmine but one needs to be trained to do it.

He was NOT right simply because it was suicidal!!

@aribisala

I disagree with you that ojukwu was not right with his declaration of Biafra
If you were in his shoes then, what would you have done?
Ojukwu was mlitary governor of the East after the 1966 coups
The revenge coup of July 1966 targetted at the Ibo military officers also was followed by large scale an unending killing of ibo civilians all over the North which the Federal Government deliberately refused to curb. The Easterners could have also retaliated against the Northerners resident in the East but Ojukwu did not allow it.He took steps to protect them and when he was sure he could no longer protect them he ensured that they evacuated the East safely. The Northern Governors failed to take any steps to protect the Easterners in their domain

Would you in Ojukwu's shoes have  continued to keep mum over the extermination of your kinsmen through ethnic cleansing and genocide?
Though the declaration of Biafra was suicidal from the military point as you postulated, it was the only option and it was the perfect option.Yes,it was a risk but it was right.Unfortunately,Biafra failed. It could have also succeeded as similar declarations in other parts of Africa and the world also succeeded.

In 1812 Napoleon Bonaparte, the French Emperor invaded Russia with a massive army. From every point, it was sure that Napoleon would win the battle. The Russians did not have the strength to resist, yet Napoleon lost and returned to in disgrace. Was Russia, a super military power not disgraced in the Afghan war in the 1980s? Was Italy, an European military power not defeated by a weaker African nation Ethiopia in 1896? In war,no one can predict the outcome. The coward is he who in Ojukwu's shoes would have kept mum over the killings of his kinsmen.
No one should blame Ojukwu. He was a hero, not a coward and will never be forgotten for his courage to declare Biafra even when it was clear that the East was at a clear military disadvantage-outgunned and outnumbered and devoid of foreign military .

Good that an ing graduate can set up a bookkeeping business and a mechanical engineer can set up a workshop to service generators and an English graduate can set up a tutorial centre
What can a graduate of Philosophy do with his skills and N10k to set up a business along the line of his skill set?

You tribalist, Awolowo is not the issue here.
Though Ojukwu was right in his decision to declare secession in 1967 following the circumstances he was faced with by the failure of the FGN to guarantee the security of the Ibos in the North, Awolowo could not have ed the break up of Nigeria by pulling out the West from Nigeria because there was no just cause for it. Even now,the West will never break out of Nigeria or the break up of Nigeria.Rather than blame Awolowo for the defeat of Biafra or for not ing Biafra, why dont you blame Zik who abandoned Biafra midway during the war and crossed over to the Federal side? What do we call that?
When talking about Biafra, focus on the issues that caused the war and the justification for the war and do not create unnecessary controversies. Even if Awolowo had ed Biafra, what was the assurance that the North would have been defeated in battle?

That is the price to pay for 'Bigmanism', when a government official feels too big to be stopped for security check at a time when a terrorist group is bombing public buildings. Why did he fail to stop for security check forcefully driving in which is the same way the suicide bombers do? And he is a church pastor? A pastor failing to obey the law of the land? The Bible says in the Book of James that you commit sin against God when you know what is right to do but fail to do it.
The soldiers should not be blamed. They did their lawful duty. what has his plate number got to do with his refusal to stop for security check? Dont armed robbers and smugglers use government plate numbers to carry out their evil acts? So vehicles bearing government plate numbers should not be checked?Government plate number,my foot!
Next time, you come across a checkpoint and you are asked to stop for check, it is wise to humble yourself and obey.

Some women are very silly
Even in the present economic climate, they do not want to see reason at all
Am sure the woman here must be one of those sit-at-home jobless women known as housewife
Now that the man is dead, his corpse will produce the money for the baby's upkeep.

Tribute!
The issue to address is : when will the NPF pay his entitlements to his family?
How soon? 4 years?
Who takes care of his family in the next few months?
What will the Police Authority do to cater for them until the entitlements are paid?
About a decade ago, an officer who was killed in a gunbattle with robbers probably died for nothing
Four years after his demise, his benefits were yet to be paid to his family.
It was pathetic. His 4 kids dropped out of school as a result
It was evident that the Police Authorities simply abandoned the family
Tribute indeed!

Ojukwu was a hero
He remains a hero in my own heart.
He is dead now but alive in my heart and in the hearts of millions who appreciated him.
He will never be forgotten for the role he played to protect his people from extermination in the post 1966 Coup events that led to the Nigerian Civil war.
Unfortunately, his own kinsmen, the Ibos do not appreciate the sacrifices he made to save them from destruction and genocide.
Ojukwu, may your soul rest in peace.
You played your part very well and did what was right and perfect in the circumstances that you were faced with in 1966.

One cannot really understand these suicide bombers
Boko Haram says they are against western education yet they carry guns and bombs produced via western education to fight against Western Education. Why dont they start their bombing attacks in Europe where western education originated?
Why dont they limit their weaponry to knives?
Why is Farouk Abdulmuttallab appealing his life sentence?
Means he is now suddenly afraid? How can one so daring to bomb an airliner in flight now be scared of imprisonment?
Or the brainwashing he got is fading out gradually?

Actually it is not new as many Nigerians do it abroad in order to have access to the right papers that will guarantee better conditions of stay. What is new about it is that the guy did this strange wedding in Nigeria, openly and publicly  and his relations ed his marriage to a woman who is 46 years his senior! This is STRANGE!
The guy is daring and must have met her on the net through online dating sites.

I am not here to attack his personality as a person or as a minister. I am not here to judge

If a church is a truly bible believing & Bible practising  church and the Holy Spirit of God truly dwells there, then whenever the whole word of God is preached, the hearts of the hearers will be touched by the word and they will be convicted and will become sober because the word of God is a double edged sword. the true gospel is the power of God for salvation and repentance

Where the word of God is preached and the hearers are not touched, not sober, not convicted by the word of God, rather they are laughing and hailing the preacher, shouting at him to 'ride on', then that ministry is an entertaining ministry and not a bible believing, bible practising ministry. In such ministries, the whole word of God is not preached (Matthew 23:23). the gospel of Christ was not brought for anyone's entertainment! The death and suffering of the Christ on the Cross at Calvary was not a cinema show but a heavy price for our redemption.

Narrow is the way that leads to eternal life, few are they that find it. Wide is the way that leads to destruction, many are they who go in thereat(Matthew 7:13-14) there is a way that seemeth right to a man but the end thereof is death (Proverbs 14:12)

THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMETH RIGHT TO A MAN BUT THE END THERE OF IS DEATH (PROVERBS 14:12)

REPENT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE SHALL GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOOSE HIS OWN SOUL?

WHAT SHALL A MAN GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?

SATAN HAS NOTHING TO OFFER THAN TO DESTROY YOUR SOUL

ACCEPT JESUS FREE OFFER OF SALVATION NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

YOUR LIFE TODAY IS BY THE MERCY OF GOD THE FATHER, NOT SATAN.

DO NOT ABUSE THE GRACE GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD THE FATHER

IF YOU DIE WITHOUT CHRIST, YOU GO TO ETERNAL HELL CREATED FOR THE DEVIL
ayodele123(m): 2:34pm On Feb 17, 2012
The solution : Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Be a committed Christian
ayodele123(m): 2:30pm On Feb 17, 2012
the issue is this: have you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour?
the warnings in Matthew 24?
Christ is coming soon to judge the world very soon. repent before it is too late.
When God sent Noah to warn the world about an impending rain that would destroy the then world, the people did not believe because rain had never fallen before then. Eventually the rain fell and the unbelieving world was swept away and destroyed.
God sent Jesus Christ for our salvation. Many are rejecting the way of salvation.
The likes of Pastor Abraham are the instruments God is using to warn you and me to make amends before it is too late. Many are still so blinded and deaf that they can neither see, perceive nor hear the warning that time is fast running out. The rapture will occur very, very soon. Just as the people in Noah's day denied the possibility of a rain, many today deny the existence of Hell.

See www.divinerevelations.info for many revelations about Hell and Heaven which God has sent to warn the present world to repent and turn over to him before it is too late

Jesus said that as it was in the days of Noah,so shall it be at the time of his coming. God's word is true. As many did not believe the warning sent through Noah, many are not believing the warnings sent through His instruments such as Pastor Abraham. The message is simple: Accept Jesus Christ, believe in Him and you will be saved. Carry your cross and follow Him
What is difficult in that?

I attended a burial ceremony recently and was amazed at the manner money was wasted on a lifeless corpse going to rot away under the ground!. The coffin alone cost N150k.The grave was adorned with tiles but the dead man's residence had no tiles when he was alive. His children even painted their father's house after his death few days to the burial! The house was not painted when he was alive.

The corpse was lifted in a limousine he did not ride in when he was alive though he had a car anyway,  Four cows were slaughtered to entertain guests. And many other money sucking and guzzling events on display that day.The dead man was kept in the mortuary for about 4 months before his burial while the children were mobilizing resources for a display. The burial cost N3m and that is a very modest sum compared to others elsewhere.

My question is this: Why do people delay burials for one to six months in these parts especially among the Christian community and Southern Nigerians? What is the basis for costly burial ceremonies for a lifeless  body that will rot away under the ground in a matter of days and weeks? Immediately a man dies, his spirit departs the body and returns to God while the soul faces judgement (Hebrews 9:27). The body goes to dust.

Now if the dead man goes to hell, what is the point conducting an expensive burial for his lifeless body here on earth while the soul is burning away in Hell? Even if he goes to heaven, what is the basis for such waste of resources for a body that is going nowhere, that will rot away?

Is it really necessary to conduct burials this way? Why cant a corpse be buried within 7 days without the noisy oestantatious display of wealth by the relations? Is there any religious backing for this rubbish? Though i am a xtian by faith, I love the muslim way of burial within 24 hours in very simple fashion.

A corpse should just be buried in a quiet, simple manner even if he was a billionaire while alive. Afterall in the grave, all are equal there.

If one is creative, you can start a business with N10k in present day Nigeria.
Business is by ideas
Business is done created when it can solve a problem
Business is about providing solutions, solving problems
If i have only 10k as capital as a fresh graduate, how will i start a biz with 10k?
1st, i will not look down on any activity as menial or too low to do
2ndly,i will bury the pride about being a graduate
3rdly,i will scan the environment searching for problems and working out the solutions
Providing the solutions is the business

With 10k, i can set up the following:
A cleaning service in a residential estate by looking for residents who need cleaning services and getting people to do the job for them.Very simple to do but many graduates are not looking that way. With time, it will grow to a big cleaning business

2ndly, i will look for restaurants who need someone to supply them with moi-moi.
If i get orders, its simply to prepare it in my kitchen and supply them. With time, it will grow to a big operation.

3rdly, i can start an ironing service, ironing clothes for people. i only need an iron to start with. As it grows, employ more hands from the overswollen ranks of jobless youth.

4thly, i can sell newspapers. Vendors selling newspapers earn N40k plus monthly while many office working graduates earn much less than that. Some graduates earn less than N15k monthly doing ''any job''.Working as a newspaper vendor does not mean selling on the streets running after vehicles. Not that way. This is where creativity comes in. A graduate must make a difference in his approach. Any unsold copies are returnable to the newspaper companies except Punch and Guardian.

5th, i can distribute bread. Set up in a location where there is high human traffic.

6th, walk into any insurance company and seek to be a sales representative. you get free marketing training and off you go marketing life insurance.

You can do wonders with N10k.

Do not judge. Judgement belongs to God
The thief who was crucified with Jesus was already condemned by fellow men but he went to Paradise with Jesus.
Rather than criticise others or the message, why dont you make the crooked ways straight by repenting and accepting God's offer of salvation now that you are still alive? Leave the others whether they are doing it right or wrong. Run your own race. It is a personal race for we shall give on personal, individual basis (2 corinthians 5:10)

I watched the film last year. His testimony is true, very true. I still have it and watch it regularly. It shook me up from spiritual slumber.
In this last Day, God is going the extra mile to warn Man to repent and accept Jesus Christ, the way of salvation before it is too late.
If you go to www.divinerevelations.info, there are many more revelations like it warning men to repent now.
For those, who see it as rubbish, it is not surprising anyway. Jesus foretold it that in the last days, many will depart from the faith. Also that many will be lost, few will be saved(Matthew 7:13-14).
For those that will accept God's offer of salvation, it is a personal choice.
For those who will reject the free offer and perish in Hell fire, it is also a personal choice
The Christian God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ forces no one.
The choice is ours to accept salvation or go the way of eternal destruction.
what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Repent now. There is no second chance in the grave!

The FGN is only postponing the day the Pandora's box will be opened.
It must be opened someday.
History will surely repeat itself.
If it does not repeat itself, there will be no history to learn in school.
With the tragic and disgraceful end of Moammar Ghaddafi, another African President is bent on seeking re-election after 33 years in office! History will alwayz repeat itself.
The failure of the French Government in the 17th century to constitute the Estates Generale to discuss the problems of the economy was what led to the French Revolution in 1789 which shook the whole of Europe for 25 years during which many of the European Monarchs lost their thrones.
History will repeat itself else, there will be no history to learn in school.
Ghaddafi refused to open the Pandora's box in peace but his country men forcefully opened it as the French did in 1789.

STORIES of workers loosing their jobs in not new anywhere in the world.
Nigeria is no exception. In advanced economies like the UK and the USA, thousands lose their jobs even till now.
Sacked bankers, wake up and face reality. Life goes on. Forget the past and think of how to build the future ahead of you.
Stop looking for office jobs. Dont waste your time searching for what is not existing.
Start thinking of job creation and how to be an asset to the economy as an employer of labor.

It amazes me when some so-called christians do what is wrong, an evil or an illegal and unlawful act, then sentimentally and emotionally bring God's name into it to justify the illegality. The state government says that the plot was wrongfully acquired and used to build a church. The presence of the church on the land does not justify the illegality. Therefore the state has the right to recover the property from the occupant, in this instance, an illegal occupant!
Even the Bible says in the book of James that you commit a sin against God when you know what is right but fail to do it. If the demolition was maliciously done and the land was rightfully acquired within the ambits of the law, then God will judge every wrong doer because he is a God of Vengeance.
