No, you do not need a transit visa if your only connection is the UK

Hello guys.

Please does anyone know if a transit visa is needed if one needs to take a connecting flight from the UK to Canada if the traveller has a Canadian visa?

Hello

Children under 14 does not have to create a ustraveldoc profile also they are not supposed to appear for interview but the US Consulate are trying to change the rule.

If all of you are applying together you must first fill the online ds 160 and submit but do not exit the submission page and add your children detail to it before submission. You also must fill different ds 160 form for individual child.

After that open your ustraveldoc to book appointment and add your children as travel companions then print out the appointment letter at the end. Regards.

Hello guys.

Please I would like to know if minors (including ones under the age of 14) can create their own s on the Ustraveldocs platform to get appointment dates for their B1/B2 interviews or they have to be attached to their parents' or guardians' s? Also, at at the interview stage is it a rule that they must be accompanied by parents or guardians?

Hello guys,

Please, a little help here.

Concerning the new POF REQUIREMENT update from 13,757 CAD to 14,690 CAD, can someone who received ITA two weeks ago, proceed with the old POF OF 13,757 CAD in their profile as they are technically “not in the pool”. Provided they submit their application before the May 27 deadline?

Thanks. I did. But they said they only do statements.

Your payoneer wallet isn’t a bank ; you’d have to transfer the funds to your dormicilliary or a traditional bank . It’s a payment platform not a bank. In addition, you’d have to submit reference letter in addition to your bank statement; that’d be difficult to execute with Payoneer.

Thanks for your response. But the thing is Payoneer creates a USD bank for its s and for other countries' currencies that the s desire. They are legitimate bank s.

See page 1, FAQ 20-22 & FAQ 41

Post ITA checklist on page 1 post 5 may be useful.

We are required to declare all side hustles/freelance work in personal history post ITA; this way you'll also be able to properly explain your source of funds and any additional transfers into your POF in an LOE.

You need a letter from the financial institution holding your POF, not just a statement of .

Thank you. This was helpful. These online platforms don't give the letter containing the elements specified by IRCC like conventional banks. Can I just present a bank statement and an LOE? Or is there some other alternative?

Hello guys.

Please I’ve got a question on POF.

I currently have a USD on Payoneer (a platform that allows freelancers to have foreign bank s) where I deposit some money from my side hustle as a Freelancer which I intend to present as my POF. The entire required POF is 13,757 CAD which is roughly 10,000 USD.

I currently have 7,000 USD in the and I recently got my ITA. Before I accept the ITA, can I make make a deposit by withdrawal of 3,000 USD on the from my Fiverr or Upwork to make the balance 10,000 USD without it raising any issues post-ITA since the 3,000 will be traceable to my freelance work and can be clearly classified as my income?
Arrowhead12: 10:54am On Mar 26, 2024
Hello everyone.

I’d like to ask two questions and I would really appreciate your thoughts/answers.

1. Regarding the POF. The required amount specified on IRCC’s website is 13,757 Canadian Dollars. I entered 13757 Canadian Dollars as the amount I intend to bring with me to Canada. The truth is my POF will be in USD and before I accept my ITA I would have had at least 10,000 USD or more in the proposed which is around 13,800 Canadian Dollars. Is it a problem if the USD equivalent is more than the 13,757 Canadian Dollars I mentioned in my Express Entry profile? Also, the USD I am using is more or less the only USD I have and I use it to make payments for foreign services in USD, can I continue to use this for such payments provided that after I have accepted ITA, the overall balance of the doesn’t go below the USD equivalent of 13,757 Canadian Dollars at any given time or it is advisable that I leave the and not make deposits or withdrawals from it?

2. On work experience, I only mentioned my current employer in my Express Entry profile. I’ve been working with them since 4th of April 2021 for 35 hours weekly. The Express Entry platform calculates that as 3 years worth of work experience. I would like to confirm if it is okay to proceed with accepting the ITA I got yesterday as I still have a little doubt that 3 years experience would literally mean 4th April 2021 till 3rd April 2024. Does IRCC count just the months and not the exact number of days? Or does the fact that I work 35 hours per week instead of the IRCC minimum of 30 hours per week make me eligible to claim 3 years of work experience? I’m willing to decline the ITA I got from the recent general draw till April 3rd 2024 and get another ITA either for the general draw or French draw.

Thank you for your responses. And I apologise if my questions sound a little dumb. I’m just trying to make sure that the Post-ITA steps go as smoothly as possible.

I would also appreciate it if any one knows of any WhatsApp or Telegram group for Post-ITA discussions.

It's good that you're bothered about this. It shows you're putting your mind in the process.

Back to the topic, you don't have any issue. I've also done the same in several different applications, it's hard to keep track of when you actually started/ finish your degree as a Nigerian due to the fact that strike will push n pull the dates around and your finish date is even different from when your certificate is issued, might be months or even years apart.

Thank you.

Hello guys.

Please, concerning educational history in the Express Entry profile, I hope it is not an issue if I input a resumption date for my degree different from what I inputted for another country Canada shares immigration data with? In the first application with that other country I had inputted January 2011, but it just occurred to me that the resumption of a new session is normally in September in my alma mater. Given that I have always gotten the year correctly, I hope it is not an issue if I can't say the specific month I started acadademic activities in the university? I inted to switch from January to September in my EE profile. I hope that won't be an issue in the event that Canada decides to confirm my details with the other country as the mismatch has no effect at all on my eligibility and CRS points.

Would appreciate your thoughts on the issue.

The largest part of my POF was in Risevest and Shyft which are not exactly banks. What is important is being able to get a Banker’s letter showing your holdings and stating the fact that you’re not indebted to them.

Thanks

Hello everyone. Please is it possible for one to hold the POF for Express Entry on Wise (formerly known as TransferWise), rather than in a domiciliary in Nigeria? I am asking because I plan on holding the required funds in the USD equivalent. Some of the USD I have are from personal savings and the remainder will be received as a gift from a sibling abroad.

Maybe get your former oga to write your letter....include his old ID and call card. If you were paid by NYSC for the 12 months, I think you should still be ok even if the PPA stopped after 3 months......hope I'm not mistaken. My thinking is that NYSC is the koko..... the PPA may or may not pay...... for example if you were teaching in a public school for example, that school would likely not pay you any jara salary. You could include your bank statement of these monthly NYSC salary payments with the ref letter or leave it out and only provide if you get an ADR.

Option 2 is to wait until your current job covers for the 9 months deficit on the NYSC.

Also read page 1 FAQ 36 and the checklist on page 1 post 5 for what IRCC wants in your ref letter.

Thank you.

Good morning guys.

I plan on claiming 3 years of work experience in filling up my express entry profile. I’ve been working at my current place of employment for almost two years now, and I have no issues with getting any reference letters or proof from there. However, my previous employer was my PPA during my service year and I was in their employment for a year. There, I was only paid for about 3 months until Covid struck and lock down was ordered, and I wasn’t paid by them from the remaining 9 months even though I worked from home. Would it be okay for me to rely on payments from NYSC and my PPA assignment letter (in lieu of a contract of employment) or any other NYSC-associated documents and letter of reference from my supervisor at the time but doesn’t work there any more (the owner of the organisation isn’t going to help in any way) in case I have to provide proof for this previous work?

Hello everyone.

I would like to make an inquiry on French proficiency and would appreciate your responses.

Using authoritative CRS calculators online, I ascertained that my CRS score would be 453 with just my IELTS general training result. However, with above average scores in TEF, I’d be looking at an increase to at least 510.

I’ve been learning French for more than 3 years, and I’ve taken and ed DELF twice (for proficiency levels A2 and B1). I can get a tutor for TEF to take the exam before the end of the year.

What I would like to know is, would it be possible or me to create an express entry profile now and use just my IELTS result, and then later update my details to make French my first language to earn more points when my TEF result is out in a couple of months in order to make me eligible under the general draw and the French proficiency draw? Or I would have cancel my express entry and create another one when I want to add the TEF result in a couple of months?

Thanks in advance for your helpful responses.

Hello,

I guess you could try to show home ties if you have a job waiting for you back home (with prospective promotion tied to your completion of the postgraduate program). If your employer's also sponsoring your studies in exchange for your remaining at the organisation for a fixed number of years immediately after your studies, that should work.

Good evening everyone,

What are the recommended ways to address being refused F1 again if “uncertainty of return to Nigeria” was the reason for initial F1 denial?

I’m going for LLM and I’m completed my NYSC 1 year ago.
