I hope you get to see this, the issue about getting married is not about how much you have actually is about planning and taking a step of faith. It is important you know that, you don't have the capacity do do anything, while not take that step and commit all to God.

We should realize that there, is life after marriage, I don't buy the idea of spending lavishly at weddings all in the name of trying to impress people or care about what people will say.

I broke up with my gf who was trying to make me spend lavishly on a wedding when I don't even have a car or a building on my own yet.

Long story short, I found someone who was willing to help me cut my budget to what I can afford, the parents even requested that they don't want a big wedding as they don't want us to spend lavishly and don't have something to fall back to after the wedding.

The issue is not about if you can afford it or not, it's a question of 'is that expense you want to make for your wedding necessary (Bridal shower, Renting event halls that are more expensive than your annual rent etc.)

I applied for Marketing PT, the results was released last week Friday, checked and my result remarks was recommended. Only to check yesterday evening and it was changed to 'not recommended'.

For people saying his rent shouldn't exceed an 100k, can you please show me where to rent a comfortable room for 100k in LAGOS. If you mention Ipaja, Ayobo, Mowe, Ibafo, etc I will stone you because he will end up spending his money on transport fare and even drugs to maintain his health.

When people ask for questions, let's be realistic. Op can rent a room of 200k as long as he is ready to safe heavily. He will need to cut out lots of irrelevant expenses and double his effort in getting a better job or at least start s side hustle.

I very much agree with you. Many factors should be considered in getting a house especially nearness to place of work. I have a colleague who earns 80k+ and his house is 250k but its just a stroll to work. With this transportation cost for the year have been eliminated and also productive time is saved. Now let's fo the math. If was to stay far he will spend an average of 800h on a daily basis on transportation multiplied by 20 working days equals 16000 per month x 12 equals 160,000 + 100k rent at ipaja, ayobo, ikorodu etc.

Your environment matters and no one wants to stay in a slum or visit someone in a slum. For those saying they can't rent a house of 200k on an income of 80k, are you saying before the expiration of the rent you don't have plans of changing your job, upgrading your skills or look for a business? Hmmm i pity your mentality.

I paid my first rent of 200k while my income was less than 80k now i earn more than 80k a month now (dont expect me to tell u how much i earn. lol) plus other miscellaneous.

Usually i don't comment in threads, i just glance through and read comments. However, for this singular advice you just pointed out, let me lend my voice to it as i have a practical testimony about starting small and with nothing.

I completed my NYSC in oct 2016 and was under serious pressure to get a job as the first son and only graduate, this time i was applying for any and every job d on job boards and newspaper dailies and was going to church regularly. During the yearly fasting and programme in my church in January, a brother took note of me and asked if i will like to work in an INSURANCE COY as a MARKETER with no fixed salary, just commission base. Without hesitation i said YES!

Lucky, i was selected and attended the training for 2 weeks and just a month into the job, i applied for a sales job in one of the leading consumer finance banks with with the pitch that i am a trained sales and market expert immediately i got hired with a basic of above 50k and 7 months into the job i got a call from a company i had applied to before i got my insurance job, for a Brand Assistant role in the marketing department so with my 1 month insurance and 7 months sales experience in the bank i was at advantage over other candidates and i got the job with a salary above 100k plus other allowance.

Moral: start from somewhere, in the Nigerian labour market now experience counts and i hope this inspires someone to take up that 10k job knowing you will not be there for long.

I'm currently using a Techno Camon CX Air which i bought brand new in September 2017. Since yesterday evening I have being having software issues on my phone with the message "Hios Launcher has stopped" or "Hios Launcher keeps stopping". As a result of this i can't access my maij menu to access other apps on my phone. I can only use the apps on my desktop.
I have had to restart the phone several times, but still the problem persist.
