Pavarottii: 1. That is the CEO Shell worldwide. The numero uno; not some exec director in Nigeria. 2. You have to use the prevalent exchange rate in 2012 = roughly N750-N800m. 3. It is the the UK, roughly half of that goes to 'mama charlie' = less than N400m for the CEO, so how to but an $18m property in one year? 4. Even the Chief Financial officer Shell worldwide hardly grosses N200m in a year. 5. Some truth-hating-coward got me banned by some clueless mod, why? The links below are more reliable than our opinions. http://afkinsider.com/30901/surprise-nigerias-highest-paid-ceos-work-oil-banking/ http://www.nigeriafilms.com/news/24305/33/meet-some-of-nigerias-highest-paid-ceos.html http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/ten-banks-pay-143-directors-n7-6bn-2015/ 7 Likes |

I just don't like the idea of some terrorists threatening to blow up our nuclear reactors, or some sad stories about how the waste water disposal wasn't properly managed. I say, NO. The benefits are enormous, but the risks are real and can be absolutely devastating! |

Overall, a balanced speech. About our Forex issues, there is a lot more the gov't can do, that it's not doing . . . the banks are "having a field day"! |

Pidggin: Do you know why employers in most fields employ experience over academic qualification? BTW, GEJ holds a PhD, and that was why most people, especially from the south west, voted for him in 2011. [i]And for humour, PEJ has both NCE and a first degree I suppose. And Diezani has a masters, plus valuable experience to boot . . . ATEOTD, a good character and honesty, are just invaluable. |

By the time the people start collecting less than 30% of their salaries i.e. the person earning N18,000 being paid N6,000, you won't need the military to chase out any militant, the people will do it by themselves. As it is now, State governments get roughly 20% if not less, of what they were getting in 2014. 6 Likes |

Immorttal: It will depend on the CBN's policies: are they going to adequately fund the 'inter-bank' window? are they going to let people get their remittances from overseas in hard currency, and stop unilaterally paying out @N197/$? If not, the situation you just described above, is as sure as daylight. Too many parameters are missing to draw any concrete conclusion. |

The NA is setting the stage already, by claiming the victim role. It is a shame you chest beaters don't get it. The NA can even do a "false flag OP". "They are killing our soldiers", is the platform to unleash hell. |

Jonathan got that right! He earned everyone's respect. No where in the interview is this related to arresting oga Jona, or not though. 11 Likes |

iHustle: True, but heavy oil is getting cheaper to produce with improving technology. 2 years ago, it cost about $80 to produce a barrel of oil from 'tar sands' or bitumen. It costs about $8.50 in Canada now! Cheaper than around $35 for producing light crude in Nigeria's ND, cheaper/about that of Saudi! China and India are heavy customers of 'heavy crude'. 1 Like 1 Share |

This thread is for objective appraisal; not needless noise nor rants. Simply state in not more than 4 sentences, Buhari's biggest blunder (in your own view) vs his biggest brilliance. I'd go first: Buhari's biggest blunder: Restricting Forex for foreign students, and going ahead to call it their "tough luck" on international TV -- you can't place a figure on education! Buhari's bigest brilliance: Degrading Boko Haram a.k.a ISWAP -- that is a coup! |

cyrilfosy: Research about bitumen/bituminous oil/heavy oil/oil tar sands -- it is bigger than crude oil/light oil -- it is the new black gold! That is what China and India are buying. A good chunk of a brief idea is available online. 1 Like |

TBankxx: I ire your weak attention seeking psychic powers. However, embarrassing is when you are not sure about something, but won't keep quiet . . . displaying your folly needlessly on a public forum, albeit via poor grammar. I'm some 'ignorant' 'misguided youth', even though you can't place a bet on if I might be old enough to be your father or not. You're so wise, but can't decipher facts are more about knowledge; not wisdom . . . à la there is a huge difference between wisdom and knowledge. Your opinions don't count for facts though, and I guess someone else already put you in your place about your fallacy up there. |

forgiveness: "The communities, in a statement signed by the coordinator of Ondo State Oil Producing Communities Rights and Mandate Group, OSOPCRMG, Williams Ayerin, and the Secretary, Bobby Akinluwa, said the impact of the two government bodies were not being felt by the people. The oil communities lamented that NDDC’s budgets for the state is not in any form commensurate with what the oil companies operating in the state pay as dues to the commission on daily basis. They specifically accused NDDC of playing politics with the right ownership of Agbami Oil Field which according to them is located about 70 miles in Ilaje water front. They said the shares of the state from NDDC would have increased tremendously if the Agbami oil field had been credited to Ondo state as stated in the nation’s map . . . The authorities in charge of the Agencies are using what it accruable to us to develop Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States." http://www.timesng.com/news/130831-ondo-oil-communities-want-niger-delta-ministry-scrapped.html Just to show, if everyone wants to foment trouble like the people of Bayelsa and Delta, we won't see the end of it. The Agbami fields is comfortably top 2 biggest of the offshore fields in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

sammieguze: My brother, it's a faceless forum, most of these people won't say some things they say on here to your face on the street. While you have some who might be beneficial to you, you have some who just barely survive on less than $10 a day. You just have to let their rude responses slide in most cases . . . sometimes not. ![]() OTOH, you wouldn't expect someone who's held on to a sincerely ignorant belief for so long, to swallow bitter truths joyfully -- at least not right away. 5 Likes |
