Since Telecommunication networks in Nigeria increased their data tariffs, I have not been able to enjoy the value of my money 5GB of data can't even last a whole day surfing X, Facebook and WhatsApp
I have also noticed they secretly steal or deduct data from their customers, this is so painful coupled with the hardship we go through just to subscribe our phones, how will remote workers cope or people who try to earn online? embarassed

It’s been happening way before the recent increase

Mostly background running applications took away our data.

i am not one to complain about this but time around, I have to. The way my data balance keeps getting drained on a regular basis is shocking and it's not like MTN's network is even any good. Had to downgrade to 3G for some time because 4G is just plain inconsistent, yet I keep struggling with disappearing data. It's bleeping insane at this point.

4GB data on 9mobile didn't last two days max, no heavy surfing or nothing..
What is going on?
There's no sector growing in this country

Where do you reside I am thinking maybe or not to get Etisalat but I don't know if network will be ok

Don't buy Etisalat/9mobile. It is useless. You can't call, browse or receive calls .

That network is dead in Nigeria..

Many of una wey dey use big phones should learn about background data and wifi calling. There are apps that would drain your data up to 1GB per day if you're not careful. There's also this feature called wifi calling that utilize your data to make calls when the network is spotty. Finally, if you're on Android, if you've set apps to automatically update, OMO updates from some apps fit consume data like crazy.....cough cough, FACEBOOK grin grin

You are not listening. People are using the same devices, running the same apps and are finding that after paying more for the same data, the data is finishing faster.

All these people didn't just buy smartphones, tablets and laptops for the first time yesterday.

Consumer protection is zero in telecom in Nigeria, grin common cheap radio waves they use to rip naija people off, because una refuse to study science, and stuck to rubbish arts based careers, them go cheat una till eternity, because you can't manuovree ya way out like we do angry

This is a nonsense statement. There are many so-called engineers in Nigeria amidst the infrastructural deficit but it means nothing if you have a political class and judiciary that only cares about their own pockets.

You're the one that can't comprehend, you and I can use the same device but depending on settings and usage, your device could consume more data than mine!

Yeah, I was on MTN always-on 45gb monthly. I switched to airtel everyday plan since MTN delist theirs and I have been on Airtel yet MTN still sends me notification of daily data usage as I had about 9gb unused data at expiration. I am wondering how this is possible when I am not using my MTN line for data on my phone. I switched to Airtel data on the 13/03/2025. This is criminality!
How does the Airtel work so that I can buy Airtel SIM and

bill suit,is one thing to be engineer,is anoda thing to be innovative. Those engineers in naija mostly are civil service mentality engineers,I have worked with loads of them, they can't innovate but just dossile doing monotonous things to receive salary in one place. undecided

You're actually right with your first line, everything in this country is designed to frustrate the citizens, even the public officers are occupying the seats just to make live harder for those under them.

NCC should've wake up and talk sense into the thick skulls of this SP but a lot of compromise no go gree them na.

Anybody who tag you an ENEMY of the state should be stripped and flogged until sense find a way into their brainless skulls, so many fools roaming our streets this days that we don't even know who to trust again.

The country is exhausting.
