See, my main aim is to leave this shithole..

Nothing works in this country anymore..
Popcorn kernel went from 8k per bag to 22k per bag..
How do you sale and make money? I have to abandon the business..
Now I started gas business, gas is now sold @450 per kg due to everyday increment from wholesalers..
My outlet is close to a gas station so my customers now prefer gas station to my outlet..
Every small scale business is being frustrated due to daily increase of price and commodity..
How do we survive in a country like this?
It's not as if we gain anything from the government, no dividends of democracy at all..
We struggle to make money yet pay bogus bills..

Am tired, I swear I am really tired..
hmmmmmm the country is in big mess am just tired I pray God to grant me my heart desires to leave the shithole of a country nothing is working we work from morning till night u pay bills with all ur hard earn money

N50,000 worth of token in June 2020 gave me 2183.7Kwh

Today, I went to the same place and bought the same N50,000 worth of token gave me 991.1Kwh.

Yet, the FG suspended the recent tariff and it will take effect this month end. Maybe N50,000 token will not give me more than 200Kwh.

Naija which way

Your tariff per kwh suggest that your electricity supply is above 16hrs per day? Is this the case?

The way forward is to go solar, The NEPA did not supply electricity for about 2 years to my house now and i don't care about that any longer because i generated light through solar.
The initial cost was high but the long run benefit is so satisfying..

Ehen, oga how much for solar, how long does it last your appliances ?

Lets be fair in our statement. Agreed you bought #50k worth of recharge in June 2020 which means average of #8k plus on monthly basis for 6 months.

And the power energy tariff increases. My question is did you enjoy regular supply of electricity during this period. Secondly, can you compare when using generator.

I told my neighbour in November that the increment was nearly 100% excluding vat, based on my comparison with the previous months consumptions. She came knocking angrily at my door and said she's been short-changed by the IKDC, asking if I had same experience and I just laughed. By the time I sat her down, explaining things to her, she now became calm. The most annoying part of the matter is that, they didn't even tell the general public of the percentage increment. They just applied the new tariff codedly. they said last year they'd not increase tariff after people and interest group threatened a nationwide protest. This government is he most fraudulent I've ever seen in Nigeria. The service is even getting worse instead of improving.

with diesel, its achievable but not 24/7. Even with 1,500 naira, I can run my petrol gen 13 hours a day with one LG AC and one fridge on. I do this everyday. If you divide the 50,000 naira by 1,500 naira, that's 33 days. In many homes in lagos, people don't enjoy electricity for up to 13 hours daily yet, the tariff is so huge. Its high time people began to think outside the box. The increased tariff isn't worth it...not commensurate with the service they're rendering. Get a good gen with sound proof and you'd be fine. This government is a fraud.

I'm currently paying approx. N53/kWh to PHED... Yet they take 30% of any amount I'm recharging to pay for the arrears own on the by previous/existing tenants prior to distribution of prepaid meters to all tenants? I moved in and was recharging but not getting the actual value until I discovered that the meter was owing over 480k.
Looking for a new house like this cos my landlord is aloof on the matter and PHED says they can't help me. Instead, they're saying they might soon disconnect the line. I'm not Jesus Christ who is bearing the sins of the world.
That's a lot of arrears to carry. I will rather approach renewable guys and see what it will cost to power my appliances.

Where did the government come from? Are they aliens? You all want to wrong things in day to day lives but expect integrity from those same wrongdoers when they get into govt, how exactly? My comment was directed to the guy who talked about bying meter, if you are in of that, please DO NOT complain about corruption anywhere whether in govt or a company or anywhere else.

The government comes from the elite especially from this part of the world. Nigeria is one of the countries in the world with the highest inequality. Apart from that, the prohibitive cost of our elections ensures that only the richest of the richest can foot the bill for public offices.
As for the bying, I hope you're aware that by the laws guiding the Discos, the tariff increases are actually illegal. But we can't do anything about it because of the inequality I just spoke about.
MLK said once, that an unjust law is no law at all. How much more a wrongly applied law. So, if the increment is illegal, then it bears logic that bying to not pay the illegality itself is not out of the blue at all.

Buhari's istration might not be the best in bringing prosperity to the land. But I will tell you a secret, it is building great resilience in people whether he is aware or not. And that alone can make people (serious-minded ones) excel faster than they would ever have done, once the economy gets better under his istration or the next istration.

For those who can't wait but would rather choose to relocate to a better country, the resilience built up overtime under this istration would also work wonders for them in that country. So it's a win-win situation. Patience is a worthwhile virtue smiley

Okay, so let's all remain in the illegality and continue like that. Simple. Let corruption continue. No complaining.
