Any help on this please.

@oggg, @Dabdab.

It's been a while I did mine but only the number is needed.

It might have changed with this "NIN revolution"

You can go anytime. No implication or what soever. When filling the vistor's log book, just look for a name in the book to write as the person you came to see otherwise they won't let you in. I wonder why it is so.
Please can someone help with direction to Abeokuta port office from Mowe/Ibafo.

This Nigeria has just turned me into an unbeliever of due process. Im trying to get a port now and Im contemplating just paying someone to do it. Has anyone in Lagos recently gotten their port after the 2 weeks timeline for fresh port?

Don't wait too much under canopy they might forget you there, go in meet that Chioma lady and make sure she sees your face else she will just be answering other people and forget you. The capturing doesn't take long 5-10min

Which port office is this Chioma lady working?

If you do it by your self, your capturing day is always stated in your printout and when you are done with capturing and given the slip you are meant to come with for collection, you would also see the date for collected too on the printout.

see image below.

Please, is "interview date" the same as capturing date? cos I'm confused oo

I got to the port office by 8am, as I got there, they were calling those who came for capturing to go in, I ed them and I went straight to the long room, and to the capturing room after which I was told I haven't done done anything, that I'll have to enroll... She asked me to go to servicom.
As I reach servicom I met C. Agba, he said my interview was supposed to be after new year that I should go back, I told him I applied for scholarship, and needed it as soon as possible and I told him i asked some officers on nairaland and they asked me to explain to any officer i meet, he asked if I came with evidence to prove I applied for scholarship, I told him I forgot it since I was in a hurry... I kept apologizing until he gave me some 4 papers to photocopy 2pcs each. I did the photocopy and he gave me one of it to fill, after I was done filling he helped me changed the file and gave me the brown file and asked me to go to the office in the middle for stamp... I went and I was stamped, he asked me to go to the long room and it to all attendants there... Omo grin grin
As I got there the first person I met was one tall and huge woman who after collecting my file yelled I should go and sit down, Lol. After few minutes she called me to collect and move to the next counter, at all counters I noticed they placed my file under and their staffs will occasionally drop random files to be signed first before the ones already there, I tried to be patient and courteous as possible as I no know anybody... after the last stamp on the long room I was asked to go and enroll in the capturing room... As I enter I met officer Nyako (God bless him) he handed my file to be enrolled (he made sure everyone was treated equal, he didn't condone putting people in front of people) and he asked me to the queue from Inside.... When it was my turn I went and captured and was given a number. I was instructed to return the file to servicom, which I did but this time I didn't see Officer Agba to thank him, so the officer I met asked me to drop the file and come back in two weeks time....

I saw officer Adamu countless times, he's quite popular and works tirelessly sha.

Thank you very much Nairaland, your advice and tips was really helpful

as I reach sleep carry me grin
Thank you very much Chief... You really help me.

Please, which port office is this?

Keep goin back to twitter. that’s ur best bet. The people there are different
Apparently, the twitter handler just replies to the tweets they want.
"Too many" tweets at them that they do not even to respond to and haven't gotten any reply since the last.
I got on phone with their HQ who told me to get in touch with Servicom at that branch (I feel it's helpless tho)
I even mailed and copied the necessary offices, immigration replied with a f*kin silly the excuse of "covid".
Nigeria too hard abeg.

No.... Capturing comes after the interview date (collection/verification/attestation of validated documents while also giving you some forms to fill).

The lady you will meet for an interview likes to give space between them. She will tell you the date to come for capturing after you are done with her. Probably 4-7 days after.

You can try your luck by telling her you really need to proceed to Capturing stage on that same day you finished with her because you urgently need the port for a scholarship.

Please I'll like to know if the Alausa office is DIY friendly for the e-standard port. Has anyone applied online, captured and collected their e-standard port from the Alausa office?

Do yu have NIN? What is ur name on it if yes.
If u have NIN, you won’t need LGA certificate to get port as ur NIN would cover for that.

My experience with this was a little different. Despite the fact that I have a NIN slip, I was still asked to go get state of origin certificate. I had to go back to my state's liaison office in Ikeja then back to Ikoyi.

From my own experience so far, very friendly aside the fact that if you are not smart they might waste your time and delay you

Likewise me also... The lady at Alausa center insisted that I must provide it in addition to my NIN slip.

Hello all,

Finally went for capturing today at ikoyi office.
I got there around 10:30am, Immediately I was approached by these two minutes port guys, I asked them if there would be need for any since capturing will he done and dey ended up convincing me on how I need at least 4 copies of white background port, He collected 800 after much bargain for 8 copies, after which he started stories of how he know an officer with one eagle and one star that can help me and I will get it in two days. I told him I have already made payment but he still went on to tell me how online application will delay and the need for me to fastrack with his one eagle one star officer. I gave him a stern look and he just jejely left me alone.

I got to the gate and when I was asked what I came for, I told them I'm going to servicom office. Immediately he heard servicom he let me in with proper direction on how to get there.
At the front dest of servicom office I met the gentle looking vibrant officer adamu, immediately i saw his tag his name rang a bell, he aske what I came for and I explained to him, he asked for my documents, arranged them for me in a brown file signed and stapled what needs to be stapled and directed me on how to go about it.

Immediately I enter the long room, I noticed everyone else had white files while I was the only one with brown file and without intoducing myself all the officers started calling me servicom. I was shock when even senior immigration officers started using sir for me, then I realized I was holding a starboy file.
The whole process took less than 40mins including capturing and I was told to come back in two weeks for the port.

DIY is the way

Also, what's the background colour of the port?

Hey!

Don't worry. NIS should confirm payment in a week by SMS.

That's what happened to me.

If after 1 week they don't, then you can follow up

Thank you so much for the response.

So after the confirmation from NIS, I can now go on to process my application at the office right?

Will they forward the payment/acknowledgement slip to me or is the SMS confirmation enough?
