On a particular stock, can "buy" and "sell" be placed at the same time i.e. to buy at lowest price and sell at highest price.

Buy, yes. If you don't already have it in your however a sell order cannot be entered.

However you can buy in the morning and sell same day. The buy order must be executed first.
