In as much as I want this to be true because I have friends who I would really want to rejoice with at the towers, it defies the corporation's mode of sending out notifications. From test invite to interview invite, there was no batch sending. Let those grieving grief rather than adding pepper to their injury. If APL lands come Monday, I'll be the happiest but if it doesn't, how do you comfort those who had seen your post and believed?

I didn't entertain any grief and I will not�. I just pity some people here who will experience season 1 &2 grieve. I have even gone for shopping today. Right now I want to eat good pounded yam with ogunfe. I can't kill myself o

My argument is holistical not personal...
Mails sent on Friday evening were not up to 250 talk more of 1050...
If the 1050 mails were sent... The thread would HV been more clustered with success stories

It is better you move on now than wait for Monday (or next week theory) before you move on. Nnpc had ample time to prepare the list and was only waiting to release the list once the verdict was reached (There was no rush to release APL)
We have the potential to be better than what NNPC has to offer. The only variable is time
Congratulations to all successful applicants and to the other faction your time and energy is worth more

Have u asked yourself how many people on Nairaland got mails? They arent even more than 150pple. So keep your hope alive n let's wait n see what happens from Monday. Cheers

How many are on Nairaland...Let's say half or about half the number. Of this number how many on Nairaland got the mail made it known to the thread...If you put this into consideration it will be logical why you saw few here that got the mail

Please allow people who want to hope to do so in peace...it's their choice...I can only say it's better to start to move on now...if it comes, good. If it doesn't...good!

I once posted on this forum that few people will be called here as there are lot of applicants who don't know if nairaland exists or not.
Life does not begin in nairaland and it won't end here.
80% of the successful ones might not be of nairaland.
Don't use nairaland as a yard stick to measure the number of people called.

In as much as I want to believe that more mails will drop on Monday. You can't say for a fact that it was just 250mails that were sent. Yes, if all was sent we would have heard more stories here not the about 50persons (I doubt it's up to 50persons self) who has received notification from here.

From here, An Hr source said more will drop on Monday anoda IT said it is over... who will I believe HR or IT?(a rhetorical question).

PS: No one should come to my post to tell me to stop hoping for Monday...I have waited this long, being hopeful till after Monday 6pm won't do more damage that has already been done currently.

After Monday you can start advising people who would still be hoping to stop.

Interesting, history will always repeat itself. If you divide 1050 by 37 you have of 28 per state that is to tell us that the number is going to be small. You cant tell me 28 people have not received mail from each state.

All my guys I chat with who went for this job don’t even know this thread exists; some dont even know what Nairaland is. Also, do not let the traffic on this thread confuse you o. People who didn’t even make it the CBT still follow this thread, and some may even have been commenting. But the real number of active people in this thread who got to the interview stage and did interviews cannot be more than 300 (both GT and EH), I assume. Meanwhile they invited close to 9000 people for interview. So, the number of APLs here will be very small compared to the APLS outside here. I think the recruitment for GT is over. Maybe they may do some internal or secret recruitment, and all emails have been sent I should think. Move on. It is finished.

The saddest part of it.

In life, the very first thing we need to learn is how to manage disappointments, because they do not define us but build us for better opportunities.

I'm very happy to see some of us on this platform get the so much cherished APL. Accept my hearty congratulations, may the Almighty God bless the new job for you and not make it a test on you. Please, do not forget your humble beginning and be kind enough to always help those you find in need of help.

My advice to those of us that didn't get the job, I want you to know it's not because you don't worth it but perhaps, there's something big somewhere you need to discover. All you need do is to never give up developing yourself, you will achieve your soul aim someday... Don't relent your efforts. It could be very hurtful to lose at this stage. Nonetheless, it's a sign that you've got what it takes to compete for the best. Please repackage yourself, apply for international scholarships and advance your skills. Don't discourage yourself based on the cost of some proficiency exams you need to take but give considerations to the afterward benefits.

Imagine, having a First Class first degree and an MSc. with a Distinction grade in a rare but relevant course with no success mail yet. It's my wish to work in the oil and gas industry and eventually go back into academics after retirement but perhaps, Lecturing is just the best for me at the moment. So, if nothing comes eventually, I will just continue building my career as an Academic and be the best I could. Who knows, someday I could be a top consultant to an IOC.

I wish everyone good luck in the future endeavors and I hope we all achieve the best in life and the hereafter.
