The joke is on you! Those shoprites branches you see belong to Nigerians. Its called a 'franchise', you can look up the word. You can buy a franchise to open a shoprite; royalties are being remitted to the brand owners, who may not even be in Nigeria. Same goes for MTN; most of the outlets are owned by Nigerians, selling services offered by MTN and remitting to MTN. MTN is now listed in Nigerian stock exchange and sold-out within two days. Who you think over-subscribed the shares?

Be there and be destroying Nigerian businesses while those motherfvckers kill people. They waste people's lives and you are looting groceries and table water.

Jokers!

[s]Insurance and other securities are the purview of the originating business owner (Franchise Owner).[/s]

I just went over this issue and the reverse is the case.

That, interestingly is the first shoprite.built to spec, and designed at a time when Capetown was a den of armed robbery and rape. I am sure by design they can lock the place down completely. Someone is probably dusting off the emergency protocols right now.

Shouldn't we be exploring a military operation in South Africa now? There's nothing to achieve with diplomacy.
A military operation or a state sponsored terrorism should be the way to go.

All, Sir, All! Nobody runs a chain of business single-handedly! All they do is ensure the right people are given the franchise so that the brand will not be tarnished, just the same way bad franchisees tarnished the Mr Biggs brand.

BruncleZuma:

No, sir! Insurance is the purview of the franchisee, not the franchiser. They have little or no tangible asset with the franchisee, just a brand name. What are they insuring?

Which south Africans? The south Africans actually employed in shoprite are a handful. How many south Africans have you met in any shoprite? Same for mtn and Co.it is cheaper to hire Nigerians than south Africans who will come with all those relocation costs.

I can understand the sentiment, but this is really achieving nothing. I doubt if any of those ' demonstrating' care. They are just looking to loot. If the situation escalates, they will rob and rape their fellow Nigerians in that mall, and people driving around there.

The government should act fast and make sure South Africa do something about this xenophobia issue urgently.
Things are about to get outta hands.

I am afraid, things are already out of hands and it has been the case for quite a while.

A lot of families have lost loved ones, means of livelihood and businesses. If that is not an indication that things have gone out of hands, I don't know what is.

May soul of those killed rest in peace.
