I just need to choose between nonfiction and fiction.

Choosing a niche for nonfiction writing has been a major challenge.

Non-fiction is the best for beginners in my opinion. Fiction is more scalable than non-fiction but it requires a LOT OF MONEY to play big in that market. I publish exclusively in non-fiction and it has been very profitable so I see no need to venture into fiction. You can do well in non-fiction if you apply yourself and never give up.

If you're looking for what's possible, in June I made over $11,700 and so far this year I've brought in over $74,000.

June Income breakdown

KDP (ebook + KENP) = $1447.62
KDP Paperback Sales = $4026.74
Audiobook Sales = $6256.50

Total Earnings = $11,730.86 (N4.22 million)

Regardless of the country you're in, you have to have a tax id.

That a country has a tax treaty with another doesn't mean tax isn't collected. In my case, I pay tax to HMRC not IRA...but I pay less than 20% in tax instead of the 30% withholding.

If you live in Canada, and I suspect they have a tax treaty with the USA, it means you'll pay tax to the tax authorities in Canada instead of the IRA.

Any publisher/entity that resides in a country that has no tax treaty with the USA will be forced to pay the default 30% withholding tax rate.

I was charged 0.012 per word. I had the option of choosing the one for 0.01 but then I needed quality which I got. They did the formatting too.

Hi guys, I started following this thread two days ago and I can say that you've got me hooked to this kindle thing. I have decided not to procrastinate and start with something. I have been hearing all about it before though. So decided to create today and it was asking for TIN given by my country of residence. The field is required and I don't have TIN so I just put "nil" there and went on with the whole thing. Question is, will this affect my cashing out later?

If the ACX wasn't set up correctly then that could spell problems.

They might suspend/terminate the and you'll no longer be able to audiobooks
