Ogun is not a river. You can only have "river Ogun" or Ogun river translated to Omi Ògùn

Really, I thought the name of the river is Ogun. The river is common noun of all rivers.

I think you can isolate the "Ogun" as the name of the river and establish that "Ogun" is the name of the river that es through Ogun state.

Patriot9:

To some extent, you are wrong.
1. Stab as a verb is not "Ogun". It is "gun".
"Ogun" is not an action word there.
The same thing is applicable to "Climb" and some others

He's trying to prove a point and we can also justify him by making both clauses.
i.e He/she stabs
He/she climbs

Not totally in agreement with some of the words here for example Sweat in the true Yoruba translation is "Oògùn"
So also Climb "gun". In a situation where you refer to Ogun as climb, that means it's no longer a single word but two words which should be written separately as "O gun" which means the "O" which is a pronoun for either he/she "gun" MEANING : HE/SHE CLIMBS, HE/SHE CLIMBED

Actually a few of the words there are not single word but double like O gun = he climbed, O gun = he stabbed, O gun = it's long
Boyooosa(m): 5:08pm On Apr 27, 2019
Those last two no follow, they are phrases not single words...

They are not one word and different meaning. In yoruba words have Ami! The Ami changes them and as such they are not one word but 11 different words

You are adding another dimension to the subject, which is Ogun and it forms common factor in the context being analysed...
Yes, when u add ami into each of the Ogun, then u have different meanings to them which had been highlighted through different meanings of Ogun we have...

Ògùn war
Ogùn medicine
O gun he/she stab
Ogún property

That's how Yoruba words are pronounced,
The sound of the vowels determines the punctuation on them.
