The Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi was moved to comion when he spotted a heavily pregnant woman labourer while inspecting the ongoing mushroom farm project in Abakaliki.
The woman identified as Gloria Nwankwo, from Ishieke, Izzi L. G. A. was among the labourers mixing concrete. He walked to the expectant mother, and ordered her to go home, adding that her condition was not good for such tasking job. He also made an instant donation of N200 ,000 for the woman to start any business of her choice to enable her take care of her unborn child

Good move by the governor but what is 200k naira in this present economy, will it be able to rent a shop, stock up the shop, feeding and house rent? What about antenatal visits and bills after delivery of the baby? He tried though afterall how many rich Nigerians would be this generous but taking care of her now and giving her a clerical job in the state civil service can go a long way later would've been better.
