Well, If a northern Christian has never held the position, Then it's Okay to zone it to them. But it shouldn't be politicised.

Northern CAN should first tackle insurgency and the threats and suffering experienced in d hands of their Muslim neighbours before they start talking about holding CAN leadership position. For now, it's still going South 4 Likes |

dubemnaija:Why don't we say that niger delta should tackle militancy and oil bunkering before contesting for presidency Or the igbos should tackle kidnapping and drug smuggling before demanding for presidency of Nigeria Or better still the yorubas should tackle ritual killings and yahoo plus before contesting for presidency. I think there is a lot of misinformation about CAN, surprisingly it was even the northern Christians who ed Pastor Ayo to emerge as CAN president due to the role he played in the crisis in Jos some years back when he was PFN President. The Christians in the north were even the one who insisted that Pastor Ayo should be CAN President despite the opposition from Onaiyekan and the Catholic Church. Its a pity what CAN has become today, a once respected and true National body has now be made to look so partisan and politicized along tribal lines. 15 Likes |

Can is supposed to be a spiritual body and it is unthinkable that it's leadership is sort through political means. If we serve a true God who has given us the holy spirit then leadership within CAN should be without stress, campaign, zoning and gerrymandering!

We're so skewed in Nigeria, this concept of rotation has eroded competence off our socio-political landscape and it is gradually making way into our religious sphere.

Great!! These guys just spoke my mind. “Obasanjo was President of Nigeria when Peter Akinlola became the President of CAN, both from Ogun State. The same thing I pointed out when I read that idiotic press release by those fools yesterday. I was so irritated honestly. Progressive01: 8 Likes |
