moneymanager:Aight let’s look at loan losses of the FUGAZ for example. Zenith loan losses N401 billion in 2023 N594 billion in 2024 N36 billion in Q1 2025 GTCO N102.8 Billion in 2023 N137 Billion in 2024 N13.4 Billion in Q1 2025 UBA N154 Billion in 2023 N258.9 Billion in 2024 N11.1 Billion in Q1 2025 First HoldCo N174.7 Billion in 2023 N371 Billion in 2024 N41.2 Billion in Q1 2025 Access Holdings N84.4 Billion in 2023 N92.9 Billion in 2024 N70 Billion in Q1 2025 You see that Access Holdings are the only ones having it worse in 2025 compared to 2024 for instance with such a high Q1 data. (It doesn’t seem any of the quarters in 2023 and 2024 were as low or close to the low of Q1 2025, if any were, present the data and I would it my methodology is flawed). We do not know what the numbers for Q1 2023/2024 were for instance and this is why I said we would need data of Q2 as well to see where the trend would likely go. I am not giving you definite predictions since we don’t have all the data yet, I am only looking at the low Q1 2025 numbers. You can counter me by showing that Q1 2023 and 2024 also had low numbers or that it could be as low in any of the quarters of those years and then spike in another quarter. All of these are possible, but I am only giving you a trend here (dealing with probabilities based on the data we have) 1 Like |

Mankind2024:Even if they are sustainable; I tend to play the equity market business in the safest way possible, and so I only buy shares of companies with consistent good or excellent dividend payment. Can a company fake the payment of good dividends consistently for like 10 years? The answer is no! 5 Likes |

I successfully averaged up my holdings yesterday, snagging Tesla at its MTD low of $284. If I were in your shoes, I'd have likely sold at $303, the 24-hour high. Fortunately, my portfolio is looking healthy and predominantly green. My next goal is to the ranks of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) before the tenure of No 47( DJT). I'm optimistic about reaching this milestone soon. PuristForest: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tell them. I don't understand the reflexive hyper-antagonism to, and the need to counter every single word of, contrarian views. I love when people disagree with me with sound, practical analysis. Helps me check my blind spots well well. I, too, own Oando, and no fair reading of their balance sheet and auditor's reports could see this company emerging from its mountain of debt anytime soon. And I've started buying banks o, despite my early skepticism. But only those that have completed recapitalization and have a long runway. ![]() Sunrisepebble: |

HesInMe: Your concerns may be valid but did you also consider some of the progress recorded so far? Did you read the part that says Oando has successfully settled USD425m out of the USD525m loan that they obtained in 2019? The bigget debt that Oando owes now are Reserve Based Loans (RBL) and Customer Financed Facility i.e. they have to sell crude oil to their creditor customer to finance and offset the facility. Hence, a huge chunk of their loan liability will be offset by direct sale to the relevant counteroarty. What they need now is enough liquidity to finance working capital and routine operations. It was reported this week that they just got another USD375m RBL from Afreximbank, the same bank that financed the acquisition of ENI/AGIP assets. A huge bank like Afreximbank would not just give out loans to a company if they do not see it as a viable business. It is also mentioned in the AFS that the board has approved an extraordinary AGM so the company can consider how to address the debt situation in compliance with some sections of CAMA. The directors have Aldo indicated willingness to injectote funds etc. 3 Likes |
