The President of Dangote Group of Companies, Aliko Dangote, has named the road leading to the Dangote Refinery after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. 1

Dangote spoke at the launch of the reconstruction of the Deep Sea Port Access Road in Lagos State on Thursday.

He also said that it was a relief to see the majority of fuel stations that were previously non-functional now operational across the country, vowing that there would never be petrol queues again.

Furthermore, Africa’s richest man stated that fuel is not expensive in Nigeria, adding that a litre of Motor Spirit is sold at higher rates in other African countries.

“The majority of fuel stations that were not working, they are now back to work; there is no more shortage, no more queues, and there will never be,” he said.

“Some people here in Nigeria might think that petrol at less than N900 is expensive, but there is nowhere in West Africa where petrol is not selling above $1, which is N1,600,” Dangote said.

Petrol is sold between N800 and over N1,000 across Nigeria.

So the reason why they are frustrating the repair of the other refineries is just because they want to increase the price?

Petro is not expensive in Nigeria but it could be cheaper based on the fact that we have crude oil and refine locally now.

This is the kind of comment I hate reading from these wealthy guys, it dashes the 'little' hope I'm trying to rekindle.
Which one is ' fuel price is not expensive in Nigeria' when you know quite well that all the economic activities of Nigeria rely on fuel, both revenue and expenditure.

Even if they sell fuel in Saudi a thousand dollar per litre and it's sold in Nigeria half of that, the question is, what is the purchasing power of Nigerian market force?

How much does that affect average commodity in Nigeria, transport fare, iru, ila, red oil, egg, sachet water and even water leaf that grows for free by the roadside....water leaf seller will tell you that she used alot of naira to transport her wares to the market for your accessibility. So, how does that kind of economic activity reflect that fuel is cheap in Nigeria?

Make dangote no whine us this morning o, make everybody go chop available ram jeje and drink ogogoro then go sleep abeg embarassed

Aliko Dangote should stop using his pocket to measure that of ordinary Nigerians because they're not of the same capacity

He is right. Nigerians are just poor because a few set of criminals are stealing our common wealth.

With the kind of money lagos has, minimum wage in lagos should be at least 150k

And they can afford it, while many Nigerians can not. So why is that?

How many of those other countries have crude oil and gas deposits?
Must we compare to others only in mediocrity and senselessness?

What exactly does Dangote need money for again?

There is something devilish and demonic about Nigeria's elite.
Again, one of them must always talk this way anytime Bill Gates or IMF reps visit Nigeria.

Those two mofos should be banned from crossing our shores again.

Nigeria isn't the only country with crude oil and the other citizens pay more than we do.

Not surprised.

Baba is a capitalist. In a lopsided system of government s capitalist will always feel he's the most hardworking guy while the peasants are lazy.

You are not the right person to say that. I don’t expect it to be expensive in your eyes

They have started!
So because petrol is expensive everywhere, ours too should be the same or close too.
Whatever you keep dumping on the Nigerian population, keep it up: For that time is coming when dumping will work no more! Black man slaving black man.

Libya, Venezuela and Iran sell fuel less than 50naira per litre.
Angola, Egypt and Algeria sell fuel for less than 600 naira per litre

All oil producing and self refining. So what are you saying Mr Aliko??

It's expensive in Nigeria compare to what the average Nigeria earns ..If it's not expensive Oya give me 500000 liters for free. Truth is that might not be expensive for you since you have billions liters tanks. If the average Nigeria is earning roughly $2000 monthly , and you selling at that price, it might not be expensive to them.

The definition of something being expensive is when the people can't easily afford it. If you sell your fuel in the US ×3 the price you sell it here, it is still cheap because they will all easily be able to afford it.
Now over here, these people are earning minimum wage of 70k. Many are even earning less than the minimum and you want to peg fuel at #800 per liter. That's way too expensive when food, transport and other prices have gone out of reach too.
So Oga Dangote, the price of fuel at #800 per litre here is damn too expensive. We know how much it was in 2015.

Sell the same fuel in USA for 2400 per litre, then it's damn cheap because those over there earn better money than here. End of story.
